Abstract: Present invention provides a fuel system for a motor vehicle having a fuel tank with a fuel measurement unit and a fuel control mechanism which is used to control fuel flow to a fuel outlet. Mentioned fuel control mechanism is having multiple of fuel flow tubes i.e. a main flow tube, a reserve flow tube and a testing tube. Said tubes are further connected to the respective fuel flow channels i.e. main flow channel, a reserve channel, a testing channel. These channels are regulated through a fuel flow guide such that fuel is allowed to flow through a required channel only when fuel guide is manually selected for the same. Thus whenever the vehicle user is willing to see the mileage of the vehicle, testing channel can be selected.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The invention generally relates to a fuel system of a motor vehicle and more particularly to a fuel control mechanism configured to facilitate rider to measure fuel consumption rate of the vehicle.
BACKGROUND
Generally, in conventional systems fuel consumption rate hereinafter mileage of the system is calculated through tests conducted by the manufacturer and communicated to the consumer as basic information. For consumer usage in order to calculate mileage of the vehicle sensor based transmitters are provided inside the fuel tank which senses fuel usage and the distance travelled and displays the fuel consumption rate. For low cost vehicle use of sensors is not feasible thus consumer cannot find out the mileage of the vehicle as per his usage. Thus there is a requirement of the fuel system which can be incorporated in every type of vehicle and fuel consumption rate can be calculated by the user as per his convenience.
SUMMARY
The present invention provides a fuel system for a motor vehicle having a fuel tank with a fuel storage cavity, a fuel measurement unit secured inside the fuel storage cavity, a fuel control mechanism configured to control fuel flow to a fuel outlet and a fuel purifying unit secured between the fuel outlet and an outlet channel. Said the fuel control mechanism has multiple number of fuel flow tubes such as a main flow tube, a reserve flow tube, a testing tube connected with multiple fuel flow channels like a main flow channel, a reserve channel, and a testing channel respectively. These fuel flow channels are regulated through a fuel flow guide attached to the outlet channel secured over a handle and joined with the fuel outlet. In order to stop flow of the fuel the fuel flow guide connects the outlet channel to a blocked location known as the off channel.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given herein below and the accompanying drawing which is incorporated in and constitute embodiments of the invention, illustrate several aspects of the invention and together with a description of the embodiments serve to explain the principles of the invention and thus, are not limited of the present invention and a brief description of the drawing is as follows:
Figure 1 is showing the main embodiments of the claimed invention. Figure 2 is depicting the essential embodiments of the claimed invention. Figure 3 is an exemplary representation of the enabling arrangement of the essential embodiments of the claimed invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described so that others skilled in the art may utilize their teachings. The invention may have application to all types of two wheeled vehicles. The scope of the invention is entirely based upon the claims provided.
Reference is made to Figure 1 showing a fuel tank (104) having a fuel storage cavity (101) to store fuel. A fuel measurement unit (103) is secured inside the fuel storage cavity (101) which is a level measuring unit (103) and measures the volume of the fuel inside the fuel storage cavity (101). A fuel control mechanism (100) is fixed inside the fuel storage cavity (102), which is connecting the fuel tank (104) to the fuel outlet (102) connected to the power generation unit (not shown in figure). As shown in Figure 2 said fuel control mechanism (100) is secured inside the fuel storage cavity (101) with the help of mounting units (105).
The fuel control mechanism (100) is having multiple fuel flow tubes e.g. a main flow tube (107), a reserve flow tube (106), and a testing tube (108) connected to the fuel outlet (102) through different flow channels. Referring to Figure 3, fuel flow channel (110) has multiple sub channels such as main flow channel (113), reserve flow channel (111), testing flow channel (112) and fuel off point (114) which acts as the inlet for the fuel from main flow tube (107), reserve flow tube (106) and testing tube (108), respectively. Fuel coming from said channels goes to the outlet opening (115) through fuel flow guide (116) located over a handle (117) covering the fuel flow channel (110). Said handle (117) has corresponding slots for reservoir flow channel (111 A), main flow channel (113A), testing channel (112A) and fuel off point (114A) in order to ensure the proper assembly of the handle (117) and the fuel flow channel (110). Said handle (117) is operated manually and the user can select the fuel flow path. The testing tube (108) gets filled when fuel in poured inside the fuel tank (104) and remain filled with a predefined amount of the fuel and as the fuel reaches the reserve level provision for the mileage testing i.e. testing channel (112) can be used as the testing tube (108) has a measured quantity and hence the calculated distance for a known amount of the fuel will provide the fuel consumption rate i.e. mileage accurately even when the user is riding the vehicle.
The fuel coming out of the fuel flow channel (110) goes to the fuel outlet (115) through a purifying unit (109) in order to supply purified fuel to the power generation unit (not shown in figure).
