A Gas Cooled Dynamoelectric Machine
The invention relates to a gas cooled dynamoelectric machine, comprising; a rotor (10) having a body portion (12), said rotor (10) having axially extending coils (22) and end turns defining a plurality of endwindings (28) extending axially beyond at least one end of said body protion (12); at least one spaceblock (140) located between adjacent said endwindings (28) so as to define a cavity (142) therebetween; at least one scoop structure (156) provided adjacent a radially inner end of a cavity facing surface of the at least one spaceblock (140) for intercepting and redirecting coolant flow into the respective cavity.
