Specification

A PROTECTIVE/TAMPERPROOF MOUNTING PLATFORM FOR A GEAR LOCK ASSEMBLY
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a mounting platform. More particularly, the present invention relates to a protective/tamperproof mounting platform for a gear lock assembly which can be installed without performing any drilling operation on the chassis of the vehicle and also restricts removing of gear lock assembly.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
It is known that the main purpose of gear lock assembly is to restrict the movement of gear lever when the vehicle is not in motion.
Conventional gear lock assemblies are mounted by drilling the chassis of the vehicle, wherein holes drilled in the chassis for installing the gear lock assembly. Since, the holes are created in the chassis during rainy season water seeps in to the cabin through the drilled holes due to ineffective sealing and the, said holes remain permanently even after removal of the gear lock assembly. As the said holes remain permanently, said holes become active sites for corrosion.
Due to drilling of chassis, the body of the vehicle gets eroded at the sites of holes. In addition to this, it is noted that drilling of chassis is not desired due to various business reasons. More specifically, it is known that in the automotive manufacturing various industries are involved in manufacturing different parts of the automobile. Hence, it is required that specific part / component should not be tampered/modified by extra machining operation to such an extent that the parts altered are completely. Consequently, the manufacturers warranty is lost. Hence, it is always necessary for practical reasons, that automobile parts must not be altered by extra machining operations.

Further, it is also necessary that product should be developed in such a way that it can be mounted with ease and assembly of the component is securely enclosed in such manner that it can't be detached or tampered or stolen.
Further at various instances, it has been found that the gear lock assemblies are taken away by dismantling them. This is due to the reason that in the conventional gear lock assembly, the fixing means which is used to fix the assembly are easily accessibly and any non skilled person can easily remove fixing means and can remove the entire gear lock assembly.
Therefore, it is identified that the entire purpose of installing gear box assembly is defeated. Therefore, it is found that conventional gear lock mounting assembly is irrational to certain extent and due to one or more of the aforesaid reasons, there may arise a situation wherein the gear lock mechanism could fail to function.
Hence, there exists a grave need to provide a gear lock mounting assembly which can be mounted without drilling of the chassis and ensures safety of the vehicle.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a protective/tamperproof mounting platform for a gear lock assembly.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a drill free gear lock mounting assembly.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
Accordingly, the present invention relates to a protective/tamperproof mounting platform for a gear lock assembly mountable on a chassis of a vehicle, comprising: a base plate having at least one slot for mounting the said plate on the chassis by at least one fastening means; an extended plate being connected to the said base plate; and a protective means/bracket being connected to the said extended plate by at least one pin, such that

the said bracket covers at least one fastening means, so as to protect tampering/dismantling of the said base plate.
