DESC:TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present invention relates generally to a handlebar assembly of a vehicle and more particularly, but not exclusively, the present invention related to a handle assembly with a display unit for a two-wheeled vehicle.
BACKGROUND
[0002] A steering system of a two-wheeled saddle type vehicle comprises a steering member which is used for steering the vehicle in left or right direction by the user. Typically, a two wheeled vehicle such as a motorcycle includes a pair of handlebars namely a left handlebar and a right handlebar as a steering member. The distance between the pair of handlebars and a seat is maintained such that maximum comfort to the rider by providing optimum ergonomics. The pair of handle bar is supported on a handlebar holder. The handlebar holder is mounted to an upper clamp. The upper clamp being mounted on the pair of front forks. The upper clamp also has a provision for lock mechanism of the vehicle. The vehicle also includes a display unit or an instrument cluster. The display unit displays information such as speed, level of fuel, etc. to the rider. Conventionally, the display unit is mounted to the upper clamp near the lock mechanism and below the handlebar assembly. The display unit can also be mounted on top of the handlebar assembly.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0008] While riding it is important for the rider to have clear visibility of the road along with proper visibility of the display unit. The display unit comprises a housing, and a stay member connected to the housing. The housing houses the display unit and the stay member enables mounting of the display unit. When the display unit is mounted to an upper clamp, the position of the display unit is not in proximity of eye of the rider, therefore the rider has to lean forward every time he/she wants to have a look at it. The frequent forward leaning causes a discomfort and poor ergonomic experience for the rider. The problem exaggerates when the rider is riding in upright position, or in a very relaxed position.
[0009] As per known state of art, in order to increase the visibility of the display unit, the display unit is mounted on the top of the pair of handlebars. However, mounting the display unit on the top of the pair of handlebars, blocks the accessibility to the lock mechanism which is disposed beneath the pair of handlebars. Additionally, mounting the display unit on the pair of handle bars increases the weight of the steering assembly, eventually leading to poor handling of the vehicle.
[00010] As per yet another known art, the display unit can be positioned at a comfortable eye proximity of rider if the stay of the housing of the display unit is increased in length wise. However, increasing the length of the stay hampers the stability of the display unit due to vibrations being experienced by long stay members when the vehicle is in motion. Additionally, increasing the length of the stay increases the weight of the vehicle, eventually hampering the ease of handling, and higher production cost. Further, the durability of the display unit also deteriorates due to vibration being experienced.
[00011] Therefore, the present invention intends to solve the above challenges. The objective of the present invention is to provide a saddle type vehicle which can ensure proper visibility of the display unit without compromise on the ergonomics, comfort of the rider, durability of the display unit, accessibility to other vehicle parts, and road visibility.
[00012] It is yet another objective of the present invention to mount the display unit in the eye proximity of the rider.
[00013] It is yet another objective of the present invention to provide strong mounting to the display unit.
[00014] It is yet another objective of the present invention, to provide easy assembly of the display unit.
[00015] It is yet another objective of the present invention to provide a saddle vehicle with a display unit mounting provision in an economical effective way.
[00016] As per an embodiment of the present invention, a saddle type vehicle comprises: a handlebar assembly. The handlebar assembly comprises an upper clamp, a handle holder assembly, a pair of handle bar. The handle holder assembly being mounted on said upper clamp. The pair of handle bar is mounted at an upper portion on said handle holder assembly through a mounting provision. The upper portion of the handle holder assembly is the portion when viewed towards vehicle upward direction. The handle holder assembly is configured with a bulged portion. The bulged portion is a protruding portion configured to mount a display unit through a second mounting provision. The mounting of the display unit on the bulged portion enables mounting of the display unit at a comfortable eye proximity of the rider without increasing the length of the stay member.
[00017] As per another embodiment of the present invention, the second mounting provision comprises one or more opening. The one or more opening is capable to mount the stem member of the housing of said display unit.
[00018] As per another embodiment of the present invention, the lateral plane passing through the second mounting provision being parallel to a lateral plane passing through first mounting provision.
[00019] As per another embodiment of the present invention, said lateral plane of said second mounting provision being at an angle to said lateral plane passing through first mounting provision.
[00020] As per another embodiment of the present invention, the bulged portion being disposed beneath said upper portion.
[00021] As per another embodiment of the present invention, the handle holder assembly comprises a left handle holder and a right handle holder, and the bulged portion being provided on one of said left or right handle holder.
[00022] As per another embodiment of the present invention, the display unit display information relating vehicle running condition such as speed, fuel level etc.
[00023] As per another embodiment of the present invention, the bulged portion have an oval shaped edges portion being connected by a straight bridge portion.
