Specification

The present invention relates to a heating assembly for a Hookah Chillum and
method of working thereof. Particularly, the present invention discloses a Hookah Chillum
equipped with heating element/rod for combustion of consumable mixture.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
10
[002] Waterpipe tobacco smoking, otherwise known as “hookah,” having heating device
referred as “hookah chillum ” is a very common practice that has spread in villages. r Cow
dung cake is commonly used as a heating source for hookah smoke. Traditional hookahs
burn cow dung as a heat source in the traditional hookah chillums currently being used in
15 rural areas. However, the practice is different in urban areas where an electric hookah or
Shisha is being introduced recently.
[003] In traditional hookahs, smokers burn cow dung cake on top of a tobacco
preparation. The resulting smoke bubbles through water at the bottom of the pipe before
20 being inhaled through a tube by the smoker. It is well known fact that burning cow dung
emits far greater quantities of dioxins and chlorophenols, which are damaging to human
health.
[004] In an alternate embodiment charcoal can also be used for the combustion of the
25 flavored tobacco in the Hookahs/Shisha in urban areas. Studies have shown that charcoal
contributes most of the harmful polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and carbon
monoxide found in hookah smoke. Therefore, Electric hookahs, are considered to be
“toxicant-free” or “carbon monoxide-free.” or charcoal briquettes. However, these
electrical Hookahs used nowadays are difficult to handle and the flavored ingredients used
30 therein are not beneficial to use as compared to the traditional tobacco mixture prepared
from the organic traditional tobacco grown in fields, dried and thereafter handmade to be
used in traditional Hookah chillums.
3
5 [005] The cited prior art document US8550091B2 relates to a water pipe smoking device,
such as hookahs or narghiles, and particularly to an electrically heated water pipe.
However, the said invention utilizes a temperature controller connected to power cord to
maintain the temperature inside the vessel for combustion of the tobacco. However, a
person skilled in the art can only maintain the required temperature in the vessel for
10 combustion of tobacco and it is not easily accessible by any ordinary person.
[006] Another cited prior art document DE202018001217U1 discloses that the tobacco
burns with hot air from 350 ° C to 650 ° C and with a controllable fan that conveys the hot
air to the tobacco. The hot air is heated by a glow wire or similar heat source and can be
15 preset in increments of 350 ° C - 650 ° C. The hot air blower is directed from the top of the
tobacco head and brings the tobacco due to the hot air to glow within 2-3 seconds. The
switching on and off of the hot air blower is performed by a switch, micro button, or similar
switching mechanism (electrical, electronic, mechanical, optoelectronic) and is integrated
in the mouthpiece or in the shisha hose. However, the said invention is a complicated setup
20 and also requires a skilled person for handling the instrument.
[007] Yet another cited prior art document CN103126076A relates to a kind of
multifunctional hookah device. including a cigarette cup. The electric hookah device which
comprises a cup for smoking is characterized by comprising an electronic carbon part
25 which is used for baking tobaccos in the cup for smoking and a power supply control host
which is used for performing power supply and temperature regulation and control on the
electronic carbon part as well; wherein the electronic carbon part comprises an electronic
carbon body which is formed by a ceramic heating core and a frosted glass casing which
is sleeved outside the ceramic heating core, a connecting seat which is fixedly connected
30 the electronic carbon body and a power supply connecting wire which is connected with
the ceramic heating core and the power supply control host; and the electronic carbon body
is inserted into the cup for smoking. However, the present invention is a complicated
system and utilizes ceramic heaters to heat up the air and requires further circulation of air
in the tobacco compartment and does not directly transfers the thermal energy to objects
35 and people, warming them in the process.
4
5 [008] The problem associated with the state of the art technology pertaining to Electric
Hookah system is the ease of handling because of complex structure of the system and the
pollution caused due to the burning of cow dung cake in traditional hookahs. The
components of the Electric Hookah significantly vary for the various machines and
different complex technologies are being used for the combustion of the tobacco inside the
10 chillum.
[009] Therefore, keeping in view of the problems associated with the state of the art, there is a
need for a system that is easy in handling, cheaper and provides proper combustion of
tobacco at once.
15
OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
[0010] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an easy to use hookah
chillum which can be easily operated by any user.
[0011] Another objective of the present invention is to provide an upper housing of hookah
20 chillum made up of stainless steel having. electric coil attached at its base.
[0012] Yet another objective of the present invention is to provide upper housing of an
hookah chillum filled with heat resistant insulating material such as glass wool so that the
upper housing of the electric burning device does not get heated up from the outside.
25
