[0020] The disclosed embodiments are merely exemplary of the invention, which may be embodied in various forms.
[0021] The present invention relates to a holding arrangement for holding an article in a vehicle interior. The holding arrangement is reliable in operation. Further, the holding arrangement is simple in construction. Furthermore, the holding arrangement requires less accommodative space in a vehicle interior.
[0022] Referring to figure 1, a perspective view of a holding arrangement 100 for holding an article 300 (refer figure 5) in a vehicle interior (not shown) in accordance with the present invention is illustrated. The holding arrangement 100 arranged on a trim panel 200 specifically on a door panel (refer figure 1, 5) of the vehicle interior in a holding position 10a. The holding arrangement 100 includes a flexible strip 20. The flexible strip 20 is configured from a plurality of articulate members (22a, 22b, 22c…..22n) joined together to configure a jalousie for holding the article 300 (refer figure 5). The jalousie configuration enables independent movements of the plurality of articulate members 22, thereby enabling flexible movements of the flexible strip 20.
[0023] The flexible strip 20 is slidably arranged in the trim panel 200 of the vehicle. In the present embodiment, the flexible strip 20 is slidably arranged in a guiding member 30 as shown in figure 2. The guiding member 30 is arranged on the trim panel 200, specifically door trim panel of the vehicle interior. The flexible strip 20 is slidable between the holding position 10a and a stowed position 10b (refer figure 4 and 5). The flexible strip 20 can be slides or extent towards the vehicle interior.
[0024] In the present embodiment, the flexible strip 20 slides or extended towards the vehicle interior. The flexible strip 20 is extendable angularly. The trim panel 200 is configured with a slot 60 for enabling angular extension of the flexible strip 20 therethrough. In the holding position 10a an angle between the flexible strip 20 and the trim panel is 90 degree preferably, and can have different angle(s) according to the slot 60 angle arrangement. The guiding member 30 is configured to guide movements of the flexible strip 20 towards the vehicle interior when the flexible strip 20 is slides or extended towards the holding position 10a and back to the stowed position 10b. Alternatively, the flexible strip 20 can be made of a plurality of articulate members (22a, 22b, 22c…22n) joined together to configure a jalousie in a way that the flexible strip 20 is bendable in one direction for enabling the angular extension of the flexible strip 20 without any slot 60 or support arrangement in the trim panel 200 of vehicle interior.
[0025] In one of the preferred embodiment, the angle between the flexible strip 20 and the trim panel 200 is in between 85-100 degree. Specifically, the flexible strip 20 is bendable in the one direction relative to a flat configuration (not shown) and bend back to form the flat configuration when completely stored in the guiding member 30 and will not bend further in an opposite second direction in the holding position 10a.
[0026] Further, a first end 20a of the flexible strip 20 is configured with a holder 24. The holder 24 extends transversely from the first end 20a of the flexible strip 20. The holder 24 is configured to restrict further movements of the flexible strip 20 in the trim panel 200 in the stowed position 10b and also provides provision for holding. It may be obvious to persons skilled in the art to configure the holder 24 for restricting further movements of the flexible strip 20 in the trim panel 200 after the stowed position 10b in various other obvious configurations.
[0027] Further, an another end 20b of the flexible strip 20 is configured with a biasing member 50 for biasing the flexible strip 20 in the trim panel 200 to configure the stowed position 10b. Under the absence of external force on the flexible strip 20, the biasing member 50 exerts biasing force on the flexible strip 20 for keeping the flexible strip 20 at the stowed position 10b. The biasing member 50 may be a torsion spring or a compression spring or any there spring which is obvious to a person skilled in the art.
[0028] Referring now to figure 5, a perspective view of the holding arrangement 100 at the holding position 10a holding the article 300 is illustrated. Specifically, in the holding position 10a, the flexible strip 20 is extended in the vehicle interior for holding the article 300 between the holder 24 and the trim panel 200. The article 300 can be held between the holder 24 and the trim panel 200, or the holder 24 and the guiding member 30, or the holder 24 and the flexible strip 20. When an occupant of the vehicle requires to hold the article 300 in the vehicle interior, the flexible strip 20 can be extended from the stowed position 10b towards the vehicle interiors by pulling the flexible strip 20 by holding the holder 24, and then the article 300 is kept between the holder and the trim panel 200. Biasing force of the biasing member 50 on the flexible strip 20 towards the stowed position 10b helps in holding the article 300 between the holder 24 and the trim panel 200, thereby holding the article 300 firmly on the flexible strip 20.
[0029] Therefore, the present invention has an advantage of providing the holding arrangement 100 for holding the article 300 in the vehicle interior, which is reliable in operation. Further, the holding arrangement 100 is simple in construction. Furthermore, the holding arrangement 100 requires less accommodative space in the vehicle interior.
