Claims:1. A household appliance comprising :
- a drum (12) having an opening for receiving laundry;
- a bottom cover (14) fitted to one end of said drum (12) comprises a
primary impeller (16);
Characterized in that:
- at least one block (18) fitted on an internal side surface (20) of said drum
(12) and a foldable base (22) is attached to said at least one block (18),
such that, said at least one block (18) and said foldable base (22) forms a
delicate chamber (23) in said drum(12), for receiving delicate laundry.
2. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said at least one
block (18) and said foldable base (22) are attached to each other using a
connecting element (24), wherein said connecting element (24) is chosen
from a group of connecting elements comprising a hinge, a link, a joint, a pin,
a pivot and the like.
3. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said foldable
base (22) comprises at least one flap (26) connected to said foldable base
(22) through a hinge (28).
4. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 3, wherein said at least one
flap (26) and said base (22) are unfolded ,such that, said base (22) and said
at least one flap (26) divides said drum (12) into two portions, one being said
delicate chamber (23).
5. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said delicate
chamber (23) comprises at least one secondary impeller (30) fitted in an
opening (32) made on said base (22).
6. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 5, wherein each of said at
least one secondary impeller (30) comprises a vane structure (34) made at a
bottom surface (36) of said at least one secondary impeller (30).
7. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 6, wherein each of said at
least one secondary impeller (30) comprises a cover (38) adapted to cover a
portion of said vane structure (34) located at said bottom surface (36) of said
at least one secondary impeller (30).
8. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 7, wherein said cover (38)
is made open at one side, such that, said cover (38) is adapted to cover a half
portion of said secondary impeller vane structure (34).
9. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 7, wherein said delicate
chamber (23) comprises two secondary impellers (30) having a
corresponding vane structure (34) and a cover (38) each.
10. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 9, wherein said covers (38)
for each of said vane structures (34) of respective said two secondary
impellers (30) are made opposite to each other. , Description:The household appliance 10 comprises a drum 12 having an opening 13 for receiving
laundry and a bottom cover 14 fitted to one end of the drum 12. The bottom cover 14
comprises a primary impeller 16. The appliance 10 comprises at least one block 18 fitted
on an internal side surface 20 of the drum 12 and a foldable base 22 is attached to the at
least one block 18, such that, the at least one block 18 and the foldable base 22 forms a
delicate chamber 23 in the drum 12, for receiving delicate laundry.
