Abstract: The invention relates to a household appliance 10 comprising at least one compartment 12 having an evaporator 14 positioned on a frame 16. The appliance 10 comprises a compressor 18 connected to the evaporator 14 via a condenser 15 in the appliance 10. The appliance 10 comprises a control unit 20 connected to the compressor 18. The control unit 20 adapted to control at least one operating condition of the appliance 10. The appliance 10 comprises a heater coil 22 attached on an outer surface 23 of the evaporator 14. The heater coil 22 is adapted to generate heat, to defrost ice formed in the at least one compartment 12, based on a running time of the compressor 18.The heater coil 22 is wrapped around/attached to the outer surface 23 of the evaporator 14 using at least one holding element 24.
Claims:1. A household appliance (10) comprising :
- at least one compartment (12) having an evaporator (14) positioned on a
5 frame (16);
- a compressor (18) connected to said evaporator (14) via a condenser (15) in
said appliance (10);
- a control unit (20) connected to said compressor (18), said control unit (20)
adapted to control at least one operating condition of said appliance (10);

characterized in that:
- a heater coil (22) attached on an outer surface (23) of said evaporator (14),
said heater coil (22) adapted to generate heat to defrost ice formed in said at
15 least one compartment (12), based on a running time of said compressor
(18).
2. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein dimensions of said
heater coil (22) is made corresponding to dimensions of said evaporator (14).

3. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said heater coil (22)
is attached on said outer surface (23) of said evaporator (14) using at least one
holding element (24) chosen from a group of elements comprising a thermally
conductive adhesive component or a cable tie.

4. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 3, wherein a length of said at
least one holding element (24) is made corresponding to a length of said heater
coil (22).
5. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said heater coil (22)
is made in the form of a tube structure.
6. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said heater coil (22)
is attached on said outer surface (23) of said evaporator (14), such that, said
heater coil (22) is extended across the outer surface (23) of said 5 evaporator (14)
compressing a top surface, a bottom surface and multiple side surfaces.
7. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said heater coil (22)
10 and said at least one holding element (24) are made of a material chosen from a
group of materials comprising aluminum, copper, steel.
8. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said heater coil (22)
comprises a lead wire (26) connected to a control unit (20), said lead wire (26)
15 is positioned outside of the heater coil (22) for receiving a signal from said
control unit (20).
9. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 1, comprises a timer (28)
connected to said control unit (20) adapted to trigger heating operation based
20 on a running time of said compressor (18).
10. The household appliance (10) as claimed in claim 7, wherein said heater coil (22)
adapted to generate heat for defrosting said formed ice, when said signal is
received from said control unit (20) based on said compressor running time.
