The following specification particularly describes and ascertains the
nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed:-
TECHNICAL FIELD :
The invention relates to a juicer / Liquidiser / blender jar of a mixer grinder which is used for preparing milkshakes, juices etc and has a lid with holes and one inside squeezer; together mounted such that, when the juicing is complete, the strainer can be used to filter the pulp from the juice and the squeezer can be used to squeeze the pulp so as to remove the juice still trapped inside the pulp thus making sure that the juice extraction is complete.
BACKGROUND ART :
Standard Existing configuration and the working principle involved in standard existing product: (Please refer illustration no 1)
Mixer grinder family of the product usually consists of two parts viz. body and jars. Generally three types of jars are available with the product viz. a. A chutney jar made of stainless steel,
b. A grinder jar made in stainless steel and
c. A juicer / blender jar made with stainless steel or
polycarbonate material or SAN material.
The body of the mixer grinder has a universal motor mounted inside the plastic body. A coupler is mounted on the upper end of the motor shaft. The speed of the motor is selected by means
of a three speed-cum incher switch. This switch is mounted on the body at accessible position.
The upper portion of the body where the coupler is mounted has a provision for fixing the jars by positive locking.
The liquidizer jar assembly consists of a liquidizer jar-1, jar base-11 separated by a liquidizer base gasket-10 fit to each other by screw type fitting. The juicer jar base-11 is made of ABS plastic or of die cast aluminum. A sintered brass bush -3 is mounted at the center of the jar base-11. The liquidizer shaft-7, fitted through this bush, drives the blade-8 mounted thereon, inside the jar. A coupler-9 mounted at the base of the liquidizer shaft-7 connects the jars rotation system to the motor side coupler. The jar base consists of locks, which match to the recess provided on the mixer body such that the coupler on the jar meshes with the coupler on the mixer body fairly concentrically.
The juicer jar has a designated handle, either integral to the body or attached separately, to hold the jar and to help lock and unlock the same. A lid-12 closes the upper portion of the jar. This lid is fit to the jar mouth by means of locking or is press fitted. The lid has a dome shape or is flat. During juicing process this lid avoids spillage of the juice outside. The lid-12 has an opening on the top for adding water / milk / sugar etc. A smaller replaceable lid-13 closes this opening. The lid and the small lid are made of transparent plastic material. The
transparency of these lids makes the inside operation and content visible.
There are some products in the market (refer illustration 1), which have a central juice extractor-14; which is cylindrical with perforated mesh of SS and is placed axially and concentrically with respect to liquidizer jar-1. The fruits for which juice is to be made are introduced inside this extractor. The liquidizer blade-8 is mounted at a lower portion of the central juice extractor. When juicing starts, the fruits are churned and the juice and pulp move centrifugally outwards. The juice moves out of the strainer mesh of the juice extractor-14 and pulp remains inside. However when juicing stops, the juice also moves inside the extractor through the holes and mixes with the pulp. When the juice is poured, the juice moves out of the jar, but some juice still remains trapped inside the pulp. These products in market do not offer any arrangement to squeeze the juice remaining in the pulp.
The fruit pulp contains juice, which goes waste in available systems. While the world is trying to make things efficient, there is need to make juicing efficient as well.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION :
The object of the present invention is to provide a juicer jar with a mixer grinder which has a lid with perforations and a squeezer
lid such that it can be used to filter the pulp off the juice-pulp mixture, squeeze the juice out of the pulp making sure that maximum amount of the juice is extracted from the fruits. Both these lids are arranged in such a fashion that they can together be mounted on the juicer jar still having access to the inside juice by means of another small lid placed over the perforated lid.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION :
The new art envisages, the use of a juicer jar and a lid assembly, to provide it with a perforated juice strainer and a 'squeezer' arrangement which can be used to filter juice from pulp-juice mixer and squeeze the pulp to get maximum juice extracted.
The invention consists of
(a) A jar-1 made in polycarbonate or SS with inbuilt handle; being fixed by means of screw threads on lower part of jar, i.e. jar base-11 separated by a gasket-10 for sealing;
(b) A brass sintered bush-3 with a shaft-7 running through it;
(c) One of the shaft-ends being connected to the blade-8 inside the jar body, and other end being connected to coupler-9;
(d) A perforated strainer lid-15 and a squeezer lid-14 concentrically mounted with each other such that the central opening in both gives access to the liquid in jar for pouring water, adding sugar etc and having a small lid-13 with provision of its closing the opening.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS:
Illustration Nos. 1 and 2 : show the configuration of the standard existing Liquidizer jar,
Illustration Nos. 3 and 4: show the configuration of the invention
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTIONS:
In the invention explained in illustration Nos. 3 and 4, the components are so arranged that the strainer lid-15 of the liquidizer jar is with perforations and one squeezer lid-14 which is to be used for smashing pulp thereby making sure that the juice prepared in the juicer can be extracted with maximum juice removal from pulp.
The product is used for mixing, churning the juices, milkshakes etc and later for serving. While making a juice, locks of the strainer lid-15 are opened and the ingredients added to the jar. The strainer lid-15 then closes such that squeezer lid-14 is placed-locked inside it and while churning is on, if required water/ milk can be added as per requirement from upper small
opening usually covered by small lid-13. During the juicing / blending operations, the ingredients are mixed and the same gets converted to juice and pulp in the jar.
Once the juice is ready, the jar-1 can be dismantled from the mixer and strainer lid-15 can be removed. The squeezer lid-14 can be dismantled from it. The strainer lid -14 later is placed over the serving vessel. The juice and the pulp together are poured through the strainer lid-15. Once the juice flows out of perforations, the squeezer lid-14 is placed and pressed over the strainer lid-15 so that the juice in the pulp gets squeezed out and efficiency of juicing is improved.
