A Kick Start System For An Engine Of A Vehicle

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a kick start system for a vehicle. The system includes a kick shaft rotatably supported in a crankcase cover and is operable through a kick lever. A drive gear is movably coupled to the kick shaft and extends forwardly towards a driven shaft axially aligned with a crankshaft. The driven shaft includes a driven gear to meshingly engage with the drive gear. A coupler of the driven shaft is configured to couple with a transmitting member secured to the crankshaft. A resilient member is interposed between the coupler and the transmitting member. The drive gear is being configured to linearly displace the driven shaft from an initial position to a coupling position to couple the coupler with the transmitting member and rotate the crankshaft through the driven shaft. Further, the resilient member is being configured to control coupling of the coupler with the transmitting member.
