DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a light-emitting diode (LED) street light device and more particularly, to the LED light with a repairable driver installed at the bottom of the pole/post. The LED driver is repairable and reusable. Moreover, the LED streetlight facilitates the replacement of the driver from the bottom of the pole. As a result of the facilitation, the cost of managing a light facility can be remarkably reduced. In addition, the LED streetlight enables convenient control over various light distribution regulations.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Streetlamp/streetlight is the municipal communal facility that is closely related to people's daily life considering the requirement of light by pedestrians and the safety of traffic at night. In general, streetlamps are required to have a light distribution curve that illuminates the road uniformly at a set interval on both sides of the roadside, and a light distribution regulation that defines the shape and brightness of these light distribution curves as a road safety facility standard.
In recent years along with the development of semiconductor technology, the semiconductor light sources begin progressively to be applied to the white light illuminating field, especially in the field of streetlamp lighting, but the LED light source has the problem of heat dissipation and has not been obtained the fine solution. The LED street lamp has had a strong impact on the popularization of this technology often because heating causes damage. In addition, the quality of the LED lighting fixtures can be said to be dependent on the heat dissipation performance. In the case of streetlamps, the heat dissipation structure is more important because it uses high wattage (currently 90W or more).
There are prior arts that provide the LED streetlight with a printed circuit board (PCB) seating surface having two or more flat surfaces that are oriented in a direction for installing the LED mounting PCB in the housing. According to such a configuration, the heat of the LED is radiated to the upper surface and the side of the housing through a portion to which the PCB is connected, and the heat dissipation is achieved. In addition, each PCB is individually connected to the converter. However, such prior art has the following problems by being directly attached to the PCB to the housing.
First, when replacing the LED lamp, it takes a lot of time because many bolts need to be loosened, each wire must be separated, re-fastened, and connected. In other words, the replacement of LED lamps for streetlights is performed by using high ladders at night when traffic is low, usually by unscrewing many bolts that combine and close 3 or more LED mounting PCs, disconnecting electric wires, and assembling new LED mounting PCs. Since it takes a long time and causes an interruption in the traffic, excessive manpower is required. In one approach to solving this problem, the housing with the LED-mounted PCB is completely replaced, which is a huge waste of national and social costs. Further, the person climbing the pole or using the ladder to reach heights risk their lives and leads to death also.
Second, the light distribution regulations of streetlamps are different depending on the installation environment of each country or local government, for example, the width of the road, the spacing of the lamps, and the height of the installation. Since the entire streetlight including the housing to be produced in various ways, the cost of molds is enormous, and a lot of inventory is generated which leads to a problem in terms of funds and management.
Third, the drivers of the conventional system must be replaced as these are not repairable leads to enormous E-waste.
The present invention has been made to solve the above problems, therefore the LED streetlight with a repairable driver of the present invention has a longer life and lower power consumption than conventional lights. A LED street light mechanism with the repairable driver ensures the stability of the present invention for solving the problems with the conventional applications. The present invention is the LED street light device having a lighting part and a base part which is an external repairable driver. The base portion is removable coupled to the lighting part. Further, the lighting unit can adjust the light distribution to provide a legal light distribution on the road.
OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION
The prime objective of the present invention is to provide a light-emitting diode (LED) street light device with a repairable driver installed at the bottom of the pole/post.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a LED street light device with an external driver which can be reused.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a cost-effective and environment-friendly LED street light device with an external driver.
These and other objectives of the present invention will be apparent from the drawings and descriptions herein. Every objective of the invention is attained by at least one embodiment of the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The following description includes the preferred best mode of one embodiment of the present invention. It will be clear from this description of the invention that the invention is not limited to these illustrated embodiments but that the invention also includes a variety of modifications and embodiments thereto. Therefore, the present description should be seen as illustrative and not limiting. While the invention is susceptible to various modifications and alternative constructions, it should be understood, that there is no intention to limit the invention to the specific form disclosed, but, on the contrary, the invention is to cover all modifications, alternative constructions, and equivalents falling within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claims.
As used herein, the singular forms “a”, “an” and “the” designate both the singular and the plural, unless expressly stated to designate the singular only.
One embodiment of the present invention is a LED street light device having a lighting part and a base part which is an external repairable driver. The base portion is removable coupled to the lighting part. Further, the lighting unit can adjust the light distribution to provide a legal light distribution on the road.
The LED streetlight of the present invention includes the following:
1. LED light module/LED light unit
2. Housing
3. Repairable external driver
4. Output cord
It further involves the mechanism wherein the LED light module is configured with the repairable external driver which can be reused to save the environment. Further, it involves the controlling of the light distribution on the streets.
The light-emitting diode (LED) street light device with a repairable driver installed at the bottom of the pole/post. In an example, the LED driver has an output cord that is connected to the MCPCB. The output cord can be of any length.
Advantageously, the driver of the present invention has a unique encapsulation design which makes it repairable and reusable. Further, the driver does not integrate into the same housing as the LED PCB. The driver is attached to the LED PCB through the output cable of length as required to install it at the bottom of the pole.
In an operation, the LED streetlights of the present invention can be mounted easily on any type of pole and a user does not need to change the condition of the existing streetlights.
The driver can be replaced without much hassle or without much expenditure when the driver is damaged and required to be changed.
This significantly reduces the cost of managing the lighting system and makes it easy to meet various light distribution regulations and has a significant effect on reducing inventory.
Although the invention has been described with reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternate embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention. It is therefore contemplated that such modifications can be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the present invention as defined.
