A LEVER CONTROLLED FERTILIZER SPREADER

K. RAMAKRISHNAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
Kariyamanikam Road, Samayapuram,
Trichy – 621112, Tamilnadu, India

The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.

FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of agricultural tools and machines. More specifically, the present invention is related to a specially designed lever controlled fertilizer spreader for uniform spreading agricultural products such as fertilizer in an agricultural field.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Various agro-products such as fertilizers are utilized to enhance the quality plant/crop growth by providing essential nutrients to soil. Fertilizers provide plants with the essential chemical elements needed for growth particularly nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Further, other agro-products such pesticides and herbicides are distributed in the field to keep weeds and pests away from destroying the crops and to add more nutrients to the soil.
[0003] In prior art various devices are known for distributing the agro-product in the agricultural field. These devices include handheld Spreader/spreader which is generally operated by a handle in order to spread form the bin attached to the spreader. The bin in such types of distributers/spreaders is relatively small. Thus, these machines are not suitable for medium and large size of field. Apart from the above, wearable distributer/spreader are also available. In these, storage tank of the spreader is worn on the back/chest of a person. The method requires a lot of human effort. Therefore, in these known Spreader/spreaders, the rate of distribution may vary based on the random movement of handle or based on the speed of walking. In addition, these spreader/spreaders provide no specific mechanism to control direction of distribution.
[0004] Further, few mechanized Spreader/spreaders are available to save human effort and to control the rate of distribution using a controller which sends the signal to the dispenser in order to spread the fertilizer. The dispenser may include rotary discs in order to distribute the material in inward and outward direction. In these types of spreaders, generally, a storage tank filled with fertilizer is towed by the vehicle. To run these machines, a huge amount of electricity is required which makes it cost inefficient. Due to the size of vehicles, particularly the thickness of conventional wheels affects the growth of plant and many times ruins plants and crops.
[0005] Therefore, despite of the advancement offered by the references as disclosed in prior art, a need remains for further improvements, particularly with regard to uniform spreading of agro-products in every direction without affecting the quality of crop/plant. In view of aforementioned, it is required to provide a control mechanism that can overcome the limitations and disadvantages of the prior arts.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] Embodiments of the present invention disclose a designed lever controlled fertilizer spreader. The lever controlled fertilizer spreader comprises a storage tank adapted to receive and store the fertilizer; a lever controller provided for controlling the spreading of the fertilizer and a discharge section having a converged portion and discharge tube. In an aspect of the present invention, the fertilizer is being received at discharge tube by operating the lever controller and converged portion increases the discharge rate.
[0007] In another aspect of the present invention, the lever controlled fertilizer spreader is backpack type. In a further aspect of the present invention, the backpack type fertilizer spreader is provided which is designed to increase the uniform rate of fertilizer distribution by controlling the discharge and direction of distribution.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0008] It is an object of the present invention to provide a lever controlled fertilizer spreader specially designed for uniform distribution of fertilizers at the top of the plants without affecting growth of plants. The uniform distribution of the fertilizer is to provide the uniform growth of plants.
[0009] It is another object of the present invention to provide a lever controlled fertilizer spreader which reduces the human effort and manpower consumed in spreading the field with a backpack design with curvature for comfort wearing the fertilizer spreader.
[0010] It is another object of the present invention to provide a lever controlled fertilizer spreader which is designed to minimize the time taken for distributing and spreading the fertilizer in the field.
[0011] It is a further object of the present invention to provide a lever controlled fertilizer spreader which is designed to improve the growth of the plant without affecting productivity.
[0012] It is yet an object of the present invention to provide a compact lever controlled fertilizer spreader.
