Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stove. This invention
prevents wastage of LPG and reduces probability of accidents in unattended
condition of stove. It acts as a protector and conservator.
BACKGROUND/PRIOR ART
Cooking gas stove is known to have been provided which uses natural gases,
butane, liquefied petroleum gas or other flammable gas as a fuel. A
conventional gas stove system with LPG as the working fluid is shown in the
fig. 1 having a LPG cylinder connected to the main assembly in which cooking
operation is to be performed via a rubber pipe or a steel reinforced pipe.
Nowadays steel reinforced pipe is mostly used as it reduces the problem of
leakage which is suffered as in case of a rubber pipe. The main assembly
consists of a plurality of burners in which cooking operation is to be performed.
The burner is turned on & off manually by simply operating the regulator.
Most of the time the problem of un-attending the gas stove is encountered
which leads to wastage of precious liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Gas leaks
can occur from poor handling of gas appliances. Leaving the cooking
unattended can cause the vessel to overflow, which in turn douses the burner
and causes gas leak. These gas leaks can sometimes result into hazardous
accidents resulting in loss of human life and major injuries. In addition to this
it's also very much necessary to save the LPG as it is non renewable source of
energy. Also its price is hiking day by day.
In order to obviate the aforesaid problems some provision is required which
must control the incoming LPG so that overheating of food material and
wastage of gas, both can be considerably reduced to a large extent. Currently,
there is no system which automatically shuts off the gas supply in required
time period so as to avoid

overheating of food material, reduce the wastage of valuable LPG gas and avoid
risk of the accident. Hence, there is requirement to develop a liquefied
petroleum gas (LPG) stove which can address the shortcomings of the prior art.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
Primary object of the present invention is to provide to a liquefied petroleum
gas (LPG) stove which overcomes disadvantages associated with the prior art.
Another object of the present invention is to provide to a liquefied petroleum
gas (LPG) stove which is simple in construction.
Further object of the present invention is to provide to a liquefied petroleum
gas (LPG) stove which saves fuel and prevents nutrient loss of food.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide to a liquefied
petroleum gas (LPG) stove which is efficient and reliable.
Yet another further object of the present invention is to provide to a liquefied
petroleum gas (LPG) stove which is cost effective and safe to operate.
Further object of the present invention is to provide to a liquefied petroleum
gas (LPG) stove which is a time operated LPG stove capable of performing in
unattended condition with ease.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide to a liquefied
petroleum gas (LPG) stove which does not require skilled supervision of user.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided a LPG stove comprising of a stove
with burner connected to a LPG cylinder, wherein a timer is provided in
connection with a valve for regulating gas flow to burner to cook food for set
time period.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from
the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings and wherein:
Fig. 1 shows: conventional liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stove.
Fig. 2 shows: Top and front view of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stove of the
present invention.
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE
ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
The present invention is directed to a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stove.
Reference may be made to fig. 2. The stove (1) comprises a known stove with an
electromechanical timer (2) and electrically operated solenoid valve (3). Said
timer is provided in proximity to regulator (4) for setting a particular time
period to cook food. The timer has gear mechanism for setting required time
period for cooking operation.

The solenoid valve cuts off the gas supply after the set time period. The valve is
placed inside the pipe (P) housed inside casing of stove for automatic shut off of
the gas flame according to requirement of the user i.e. after set time period.
The solenoid valve, rating of which is such that it ensures low consumption of
electricity thereby making it cost effective. Again, it avoids chances of spark.
Further, the solenoid valve is accommodated inside a fire proof casing (C) made
up of material such as poly-fibre. The connecting wire (W) between AC supply
mains and the assembly is completely fire proof (Ci) and with the installation of
adapter the main supply steps down from 240volts to 6-8 volts which makes it
completely safe for the use and avoids the accident. Instead of AC, DC supply
can be provided.
Thus, the above provision protects the stove from any sort of mishappenings.
The above is with reference to LPG stove having two burners (B). However, it is
applicable to a stove with any number of burners.
As shown in the figure 2, the timer is connected to said solenoid valve.
The inlet port of the valve is connected to LPG cylinder through a pipe. Outlet
of the valve is provided in connection with burner of the stove, wherein the
burner is operated manually by means of regulator.
The solenoid valve having a piston arrangement, in which the piston restricts a
pressure of 25-30 Bar, which is well above the required value to block flow of
liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) through pipe.
During the set time period for cooking, the timer supplies electricity to the
solenoid valve. So that, piston of the valve allows passage of gas through the

valve outlet to burner. When the set time period is over, the timer cuts off
electric supply to the piston thereby stopping gas supply.
Required positioning of the piston for passage of gas or stopping the gas supply
is achieved by energizing the coil through electricity. Spring of the valve
maintains linear reciprocatory motion of the piston.
Thus, the solenoid valve is able to restrict LPG flow therethrough, which can be
completely stopped with no possibility of LPG leakage.
The assembly of timer and solenoid valve can be retrofitted to existing LPG
stove.

- Avoids overheating of food, which results in retention of nutrition,
minerals and protein of food.

It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications,
adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments
employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within
