A Locking Mechanism For The Choke Lever Of A 2 Or 3 Wheeled Vehicle

Abstract: A locking mechanism for the choke lever mounted on the handle bar of a vehicle. The choke lever comprises a planar member (1) disposed above the control housing (2) of the handle bar of the vehicle with one planar surface the control housing. The choke lever is pivoted about a pivot axis (3) on the control housing. The locking mechanism comprises a downwardly projecting locking pin (5) provided at the said planar surface of the choke lever facing the control housing and being movable with the choke lever about the pivot axis. A resilient biasing means (6) is disposed between the control housing and the choke lever. The resilient biasing means acts on the locking pin in a direction perpendicular to the pivot axis, such that in use, a biasing force on the locking pin increases and then decreases as the locking pin moves from its initial position to its final position.
