A Machine For De Composing Garbage

Abstract: Abstract The present invention is to provide a machine for de-composing garbage. The machine is having an opening for ingress of the garbage and egress the decomposed garbage. The machine is provided with a vessel connected with the opening which is rotatably mounted on a frame. The vessel is having a cutting member configured spirally inside the vessel for cutting and mixing the garbage. A compressor is arranged on a side of the vessel and adapted to blow air inside the vessel. Further, a heater is configured adjacent to the compressor for providing hot air inside the vessel. A loading assembly is secured to the vessel and adapted to dispose garbage from a dustbin placed thereon. Upon operating the machine after ingress of the garbage, the vessel is rotated for cutting and mixing the garbage, simultaneously the compressor blows hot air at a predefined temperature inside which activates bacteria to decompose the garbage in lesser time.

Claims:We Claim:
1. A machine for de-composing garbage, the machine having an opening for ingress of the garbage and an egress opening egress the decomposed garbage, which is a compost, the machine comprising:
a vessel connected with the opening for ingress of garbage and an egress port for egress of decomposed garbage, the vessel is rotatably mounted on a frame and the vessel is having a cutting member configured spirally on inner surface of the vessel;
a compressor arranged on a side of the vessel and adapted to blow air inside the vessel;
a heater configured adjacent to the compressor, the heater having a heating coil to heat the incoming air from the compressor thereby providing hot air inside the vessel;
a loading assembly secured to the vessel and adapted to dispose garbage from a dustbin placed thereon;
wherein upon operating the machine, the loading assembly lifts the garbage for ingress in the vessel, thereafter the vessel is rotated for cutting and mixing the garbage, simultaneously the compressor blows hot air at a predefined temperature inside which activates bacteria multiplication thereby decomposing the garbage in a lesser time.

2. The machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the loading assembly is having a holding member to securely hold the dustbin thereon.

3. The machine as claimed in claims 1 and 2, wherein the dustbin is removably fixed on the holding member.

The machine as claimed in claims 1 and 2, wherein the loading assembly is provided with a hydraulic actuator for lifting the holding member from a first configuration to a second configuration, the first configuration being an idle position wherein the holding member is in a substantially horizontal position in relative to ground and the second configuration being a lifted position where the holding member is lifted towards the opening for disposing the garbage therein.

5. The machine as claimed in claims 1 and 3, wherein the holding member is lifted in an arcuate path such that an open end of the dustbin is aligned to meet the opening of the machine thereby disposing the garbage therein.

6. The machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the vessel is mounted rotatably inside the frame with a gearbox and a motor, the motor and the gearbox facilitates in rotating the vessel in a first direction and a second direction.

7. The machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the vessel is rotated in the first direction to chop the garbage and for proper mixing of garbage inside the vessel, and in the second direction to egress the garbage compost through an egress port.
8. The machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the machine is having a first sensor for sensing temperature of the garbage and a second sensor for sensing the garbage or the compost level in the vessel.

9. The machine as claimed in claims 1 and 8, wherein the machine is having a control panel adapted to receive signals from the first sensor and the second sensor and indicates on a display of the control panel, thereby to operate the motor, the heater and the compressor.

10. The machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the vessel is covered with an insulating material for maintaining a predefined temperature therein.
, Description:Field of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a compost machine. More particularly, the present invention relates to a machine for making compost from garbage.

Background of the invention

[0002] Currently, managing garbage from kitchen garbage, garden garbage, restaurants garbage, supermarket and such places which produce enormous amount of garbage on regular basis is very difficult. Proper disposal of garbage is essential because this garbage is hazardous and can contaminate the environment if not handled properly. This garbage can cause certain diseases like gastrointestinal, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhoea, cholera, typhoid, malaria skin diseases and respiratory allergies. Foul odour of garbage while decay causes discomfort for people.

[0001] Presently, there are some garbage treatment methods and machine available in market which convert these garbage into compost. The compost can be further use as a fertilizer for plant and trees. Some of the available machine processes only wet garbage and some machines convert the garbage into muddy compost which becomes difficult to carry from one place to another. Also some machine burns the garbage. So these machine are not a complete solution for processing wet and dry garbage.
[0002] Hence, there is a need of a machine which is capable of processing both wet and dry garbage to compost also which also overcomes few or all of the drawbacks of the present machines.

Object of the invention

[0003] An object of the present invention is to provide a machine for de-composing garbage.

[0004] Another object of the present invention is to provide a machine for de-composing garbage, wherein the machine can process both dry and wet garbage.

[0005] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a machine for de-composing garbage, wherein the processed compost is dried.

[0006] One more object of the present invention is to provide a machine for de-composing garbage, wherein the machine may be processed in both auto and manual modes.

[0007] Further one object of the present invention is to provide a machine for de-composing garbage, wherein the time duration for processing compost is less.
[0008] Further one more object of the present invention is to provide a machine for de-composing garbage, wherein the machine may be used for both indoor and outdoor purposes.

[0009] Still one more object of the present invention is to provide a machine for de-composing garbage, wherein an artificial environment is created inside the machine which helps in multiplication of bacteria on themselves thereby decomposing the garbage quickly.

[0010] Further one object of the present invention is to provide a machine for de-composing garbage, wherein the machine is robust and economical in construction.

Summary of the invention

[0011] According to the present invention, there is provided a machine for de-composing garbage. The machine is enclosed by a frame containing a plurality of sheets and frames. The machine is provided with a loading assembly, a vessel, a compressor, a heater and a control panel. Further, the machine is provided with an opening connected to the vessel for ingress of the garbage and egress of the decomposed compost through an egress port.

[0012] The loading assembly is movably arranged on the machine. Specifically, the loading assembly is provided for filling the garbage inside the vessel. The loading assembly is having a hydraulic actuator and a holding member. The holding member is configured in such a way that it securely holds a dustbin thereon. Specifically, the loading assembly is secured to the vessel and adapted to dispose the garbage from the dustbin. The hydraulic actuator is for lifting the holding member from a first configuration to a second configuration.

[0013] Further, the vessel is movably arranged inside the frame. The vessel is mounted rotatably on the frame. Specifically, the vessel is mounted on a roller assembly constituting a plurality of bearings. The roller assembly facilitates in rotation of the vessel inside the frame. The roller assembly facilitates in rotation of the vessel inside the frame.

[0014] Furthermore, one end of the vessel is provided with the opening. The opening is visibly configured inside the frame such that the user can fill the garbage manually also. Further, the egress port having a pipe is configured on a bottom portion of the opening facing downward for egressing of the compost. Also, the opening is provided with a lid to close the opening after disposing the garbage therein. The lid is hingeably connected with a supporting member, such that the lid can be moved on the hinged portion to open and close the opening of the vessel. Furthermore, a purifying unit is configured adjacent to the opening. Specifically, the purifying unit purifies the hazardous gas such as hydrogen sulphide and the like coming out from the machine during the de-composting process.

[0015] Further, the vessel is having a cutting member configured spirally on inner surface of the vessel. The cutting member is provided to chop the garbage in smaller pieces and mixing it simultaneously. Upon ingress of the garbage inside the vessel, the cutting member rotates in a first direction. Specifically, the vessel is rotated in the first direction to mix the garbage properly. Further, the vessel can be rotated in a second direction to egress the compost from the vessel. The rotation of the vessel in the first direction and the second direction is controlled by the control panel.

[0016] The heater is configured inside the frame and adjacent to the compressor for heating air from the compressor. In an embodiment, the heater is provided with a heating coil to heat the air coming from the compressor. The temperature setting of the heater can be controlled by the control panel. Further, the compressor blows air through an outlet which is connected to the heater for heating the compressed air. Specifically, air from the compressor passes through a heating unit to the vessel which rise the temperature of the garbage to a predefined temperature level. In this embodiment, the temperature inside the vessel is maintained between 60 degree to 65 degree. The predefined temperature is provided to heat the garbage inside the vessel. At this temperature moisture from the garbage is removed. Also, this temperature activates bacteria multiplication inside the vessel, thereby increasing the decompose process of the garbage.

[0017] Further, the machine is provided with a first sensor to sense the temperature of the garbage. Once the temperature reaches to a predefined level it sends signal to the control panel to cut off further heating of the air. Similarly, when the temperature of the garbage reaches below the predefined temperature, then the first sensor sends the signal to the control panel accordingly to start heating of the air. Further, the machine is having a second sensor for sensing the garbage or the compost level in the vessel. Signals from the second sensor is sent to the control panel to stop ingression of the garbage or egressing the compost after the vessel is filled with the compost to a predefined level. For egressing of the garbage from the vessel and the cutting member rotates in the second direction.

[0018] Further, the machine is provided with a plurality of switches for operating the machine. The plurality of switches are configured on a periphery of the frame and connected integrally with the control panel.

Detail Description of the Invention

[0022] An embodiment of this invention, illustrating its features, will now be described in detail. The words "comprising," having, "containing," and "including," and other forms thereof, are intended to be equivalent in meaning and be open ended in that an item or items following any one of these words is not meant to be an exhaustive listing such item or items, or meant to be limited to only the listed item or items.

[0024] The present invention is to provide a machine for de-composing garbage. The machine can process both dry and wet garbage. The processed compost by this machine is dried. The time duration taken by the machine for processing compost is less. The machine may be used for both indoor and outdoor purposes. Further, an artificial environment is created inside the machine where bacteria multiplies themselves to decompose the garbage quickly. Moreover, the machine is robust in construction and economical.

[0026] Referring now to figure 1, a machine 100 for de-composing garbage in accordance with present invention is illustrated. The machine 100 is enclosed by a frame 200 containing a plurality of sheets. The machine 100 is provided with a loading assembly 110, a vessel 130, a compressor 150, a heater 160 and a control panel (not shown). Further, the machine 100 is provided with an opening 120 configured on the vessel 130 for ingress of the garbage and for egress of decomposed garbage in the form of compost.

[0027] Further, the loading assembly 110 is movably placed on the machine 100. In this embodiment the loading assembly 110 is pivotally configured on the machine 100, such that the loading assembly 110 moves on a pivot pin for loading and unloading garbage inside the vessel 130.. The loading assembly 110 is having a hydraulic actuator (not shown) and a holding member (not shown). The holding member is configured in such a way that it securely holds a dustbin (not shown) on the holding member. Specifically, the loading assembly 110 is secured to the vessel 130 and adapted to dispose the garbage from the dustbin placed thereon. In the present embodiment, the dustbin is removably fixed on the holding member. It may be obvious to a person skilled in the art to configure a fixated dustbin on the holding member.

[0028] The hydraulic actuator is configured for lifting the holding member from a first configuration to a second configuration. The first configuration being an idle position wherein the holding member is in a substantially horizontal position in relative to ground. The second configuration is a lifted position where the holding member is lifted towards the opening 120 for disposing the garbage in the vessel 130. In the present embodiment, the holding member is lifted in an arcuate path such that an open end of the dustbin is aligned to meet the opening 120 of the machine 100 thereby disposing the garbage therein. It may be obvious to a person skilled in the art to use a pneumatic, hydro pneumatic or the like to lift and release the dustbin along with the holding member.

[0029] Further referring to figures 1 and figure 2, the vessel 130 is movably arranged inside the frame 200. Specifically, the vessel 130 is a rotatably arranged in an angular position from the ground in the frame 200. The vessel 130 is mounted rotatably on the frame 200. The machine 100 may be further provided with a motor 140 and a gear box 142 connected to the motor 140. Upon rotating the motor 140, the gearbox 142 facilitates in rotating the vessel 130 in a first direction and a second direction at a predefined speed and time, controlled by the control panel configured within the machine 100. In the present embodiment the vessel 130 is in a cylindrical barrel spaced . It may be obvious to a person skilled in the art to use any other shape of the vessel. The vessel 130 is mounted on a roller assembly 132 constituting a plurality of bearings. The roller assembly facilitates in rotation of the vessel 130 on the frame 200.

[0030] Referring again to figure 1, one end of the vessel 130 is provided with the opening 120. The opening 120 is visibly configured inside the frame 200 such that the user can fill the garbage manually also. Further, the egress opening having a pipe (not shown) is configured on a bottom portion of the opening 120 facing downward for egressing of the compost. Also, the opening 120 is provided with a lid 122 to close the opening 120 after disposing the garbage therein. The lid 122 is hingeably connected with a supporting member 124, such that the lid 122 can be moved on the hinged portion 126 to open and close the opening 120 of the vessel. Further, the lid 122 can be operated manually and automatically. In the present embodiment, the lid 122 is having a motorised unit for opening and closing the opening 120 which is remotely controlled by the control panel. Furthermore, a purifying unit is configured adjacent to the opening. Specifically, the purifying unit purifies the hazardous gas such as hydrogen sulphide and the like coming out from the machine during the de-composting process.

[0031] Further, the vessel 130 is having a cutting member 135 configured spirally on inner surface of the vessel 130. In the present embodiment the cutting member 135 is in a shape of a helical shredding plates. It is obvious to a person skilled in the art to use any other shape of the cutting member 135. The cutting member 135 is provided to chop the garbage in smaller pieces and mixing it simultaneously. Upon ingress of the garbage inside the vessel 130, the cutting member 135 rotates in a first direction. Specifically, the vessel 130 is rotated in the first direction to mix the garbage properly. Further, the vessel 130 can be rotated in a second direction to egress the compost from the vessel 130. The rotation of the vessel 130 in the first direction and the second direction is controlled by the control panel.

[0032] Further, the heater 160 is configured inside the frame 200 and adjacent to the compressor 150 for heating air from the compressor 150. In the present embodiment, the heater 160 is an induction heater. It may be obvious to a person skilled in the art to use any other heater for the same purpose. The heater 160 is provided with a heating coil 162 to heat the air coming from the compressor 150. The temperature setting of the heater 160 can be controlled by the control panel. Further, the compressor 150 blows air through an outlet which is connected to the heater 160 for heating the compressed air. Specifically, air from the compressor 150 passes through a heating unit (not shown) to the vessel 130 which rises the temperature of the garbage to a predefined temperature level. In this embodiment, the temperature of the vessel 130 is maintained in between 60 degree to 65 degree. The predefined temperature is provided to heat the garbage inside the vessel 130. This temperature of the garbage helps to remove all moisture from the garbage. Also, the predefined temperature activates bacteria multiplication thereby increasing the decomposition rate of the garbage.

[0033] In the present embodiment, the compressor 150 is provided with an air cylinder (not shown). The air cylinder is configured with a gas pump 155. The gas pump 155 blow the air to the compressor 150. The compressor 150 blow air through the outlet which is connected to the heater 160 for heating the compressed air. Further, hot air is blew to the vessel 130 through a connecting pipe which is connected to a bottom opening (not shown) of the vessel 130 through a flange assembly 152.

[0034] As the temperature of the garbageis maintained to a predefined temperature level. In the present embodiment, the predefined temperature may be in between 40 degree to 65 degree. This predefined temperature activates bacteria inside the vessel 130 to decompose the garbage. In the present embodiment, the decomposing of the compost time is reduced because of maintaining a favourable and constant temperature of the garbage. Further, in the present embodiment the vessel 130 is covered with an insulating material (not shown) for maintaining predefined temperature of the vessel for longer duration.

[0035] Further, the machine 100 is provided with a first sensor. The first sensor is provided to sense the temperature of the garbage. Once the temperature reaches to a predefined level it sends signal to the control panel to control the temperature of the air blown inside the vessel. After receiving signal from sensor the control panel sends command to the heater 160. The indication showing temperature may be displayed on a display of the control panel. Similarly, when the temperature of the garbage reaches below the predefined temperature, then the first sensor sends the signal to the control panel accordingly to increase temperature of the air.

[0036] Further in the present embodiment, the machine 100 is having a second sensor (not shown). The second sensor is provided for sensing the garbage or the compost level in the vessel. In the present embodiment, a signal from the second sensor is sent to the control panel to stop ingression of the garbage and or egressing the compost after the vessel 130 is filled with the compost to a predefined level. During the egress of the garbage, the vessel 130 and the cutting member 135 rotates in the second direction. The egression process is done through a command sent by the control panel after getting a signal from the second sensor. In the present embodiment, the second direction may be in an anticlockwise direction.

[0037] In the present embodiment, when the machine 100 starts for first time, it starts in auto mode which is controlled by the user. Further the mode can be changed from auto to manual according to requirement. It is obvious to a person skilled in the art to use the machine 100 in manual or auto mode according to requirement. When the machine 100 starts for the first time, it runs continuous for one hour. Thereafter the machine 100 stops for 15 minutes after every 5 minutes of working. During this period, when machine 100 stops working, the motor, the vessel 130, the cutting member 135, the heater 160 and the compressor 150 stops working. But the sensors are adapted to send command to the control panel even if the machine 100 stops working.

[0038] Further, the machine 100 is provided with a plurality of switches 170 for operating the machine 100. The plurality of switches 170 are configured on a periphery of the frame 200 and connected integrally with the control panel. In the present embodiment, the process of ingress of the garbage by operating the hydraulic actuator and egressing the compost is done through the plurality of switches 170 configured with the control panel.

[0039] The advantages of the present invention is to provide a machine 100 for de-composing garbage. The machine 100 can process both dry and wet garbage.
