Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle for the protection of the Occupants during Front Impact.
PRIOR ART
Generally, longitudinal member of a vehicle is a basic structure on which each part of a vehicle chassis and body are mounted. The frame supports the load transmitted from the body as well as absorbs shocks, vibrations and the like received from front and rear axles. A vehicle is subjected to bending and torsional moments, tension and compression, and vibrations resulting from ordinary driving and the weight of the vehicle. Hence, the frame of the vehicle needs to have enough strength and stiffness to endure these various loads. Accordingly if in a vehicle longitudinal members end before the front Panel, it would result in the large displacement of Front Panel and Front floor during the frontal collision before the energy of the impact gets absorbed by the longitudinal members.
In some cases longitudinal members can be designed up to Front panel of the Body. However, this provision increases the overall weight and cost of the body drastically.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to propose a member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle which overcomes disadvantages associated with the known art.
Another object of the present invention is to absorb the energy during the frontal collision as well transfer the impact force directly to the longitudinal members.
Further object of the present invention is to propose a member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle, which is simple in construction and efficient.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided a member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle comprising of a member front lower mounted with the longitudinal members with the help of rear mounting bracket and to the cross member by means of front mounting bracket wherein member front lower support is joined with the member front lower with the help of reinforcement member front lower.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS WITH REFERENCE TO THE DRAWINGS
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and wherein:
Fig. 1 shows position of member front lower in the vehicle.

Fig. 3 shows exploded view of member front lower assembly.
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE DRAWINGS
The Present Invention provides a member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle to improve the crash performance of front underbody in Van type Monocoque structured vehicle by providing Member front lower between the bumper assembly and longitudinal members as shown in Figure-1.
This system prevents a crash impact force from being transmitted to the vehicle facia or panel by absorbing such impact force and transfers the impact force to the longitudinal members.
Longitudinal member is a basic structure of a vehicle which supports the load transmitted from the body. Hence, longitudinal member of the vehicle is required to have enough strength and stiffness to endure these various loads. Accordingly, in case longitudinal members of a vehicle end before the front Panel, it would result in the large displacement of Front Panel and Front floor during the frontal collision before the energy of the impact gets absorbed by the longitudinal members.
As a solution, Member front lower is added in the front underbody to absorb the energy during the frontal collision as well transfer the impact force directly to the longitudinal members.
Member front lower assembly mainly comprises of the following as indicated in Figure-2& 3
a) Member Front Lower
b) Front Mounting Bracket
c) Rear Mounting Bracket
d) Member Front Lower support
e) Reinforcement Member Front Lower
Member Front Lower is positioned at Front underbody of the vehicle and assembled to the longitudinal and cross members of the vehicle. It is mounted with the Longitudinal members with the help of specially designed Rear mounting bracket. Additionally mounting to the cross member is carried out by specially designed front mounting bracket.
The main features of the invention are as follows:
Energy Transfer;
1) It prevents the large displacement of Front Panel and Front floor during the frontal Impact.
2) It transfers energy to the main longitudinal members in case of front Impact.
3) It increases the rigidity of the existing Monocoque structured body.
4) It has two means of energy transfer to the longitudinal members, one through member Front lower (Main pipe structure) and secondly through Member Front Lower support.
Safety of Driver and Co driver after the impact test
1) Member front lower added in the front underbody helps to absorb the energy during the front impact and transfers the impact force directly to the longitudinal members hence results in the lesser displacement of front Panel and front floor.
2) It helps to minimize the vehicle damage during the crash.
3) Member Front Lower Support acts as an additional support to transfer the impact energy to the main longitudinal members. It is joined with Member Front Lower with the help of Reinforcement Member Front Lower.
Mounting / Positioning of Member Front Lower
1) Member front lower is mounted on a Rear mounting bracket which is assembled to the longitudinal members by means of welding or using nuts and bolts or any other alternate means of fastening.
2) Positioning of Member front lower in front underbody is such that it doesn't interfere with any surrounding parts. Thus, this Member Front Lower can be added separately.
3) Provision of front mounting bracket which is assembled to the cross member by means of welding or fasteners or any alternate means of fastening to avoid overhang of the structure.
The salient features of the invention over prior art ;
1) Safety of Driver and Co driver in case of Frontal Impact
2) Provision of rigidity to the current designed Monocoque structured body.
3) No deterioration with current vehicle performance, aesthetic etc.

4) Design of C - Shape type Member Front Lower mounted with longitudinal members and Cross member of the vehicle.
5) Rear mounting bracket is "Wrap on type bracket" used to mount Member front lower to the longitudinal members.
6) Member Front Lower Support acts as an additional support to transfer
the impact energy to the main longitudinal members.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-

WE CLAIM;
1. A member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle comprising of a member front lower mounted with the longitudinal members with the help of rear mounting bracket and to the cross member by means of front mounting bracket wherein member front lower support is joined with the member front lower with the help of reinforcement member front lower.
2. A member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle as claimed in claim 1, wherein member front lower is mounted on the Rear mounting bracket assembled to the longitudinal members by means of welding or using nuts and bolts or any other alternate means of fastening.
3. A member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the front mounting bracket is assembled to the cross member by means of welding or fasteners or any alternate means of fastening to avoid overhang of the structure.
4. A member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the member front lower is C-shaped mounted with longitudinal members and cross member of the vehicle.
5. A member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the rear mounting bracket is wrap on type bracket used to mount the member front lower to the longitudinal members.
6. A member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the member front lower is provided between the bumper assembly and longitudinal members.
7. A member front lower assembly used in the front under body of the vehicle substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
