Abstract: ABSTRACT “A METHOD AND A SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING SPEED OF A VEHICLE” Disclosed herein is a method and system for controlling speed of a vehicle. In particular, the method comprises sensing a current speed and a gear position of the vehicle, by a vehicle speed sensor and a gear position sensor respectively, while the vehicle being in motion and a speed limiting (SL) mode activated; and reducing, by an electronic control unit (ECU), vehicle speed from the current speed to a SL mode threshold speed corresponding to the current gear position.
