A Method And A System For Regulating Molten Metal Meniscus Level

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method for regulating molten metal meniscus level in a mould of a continuous casting process comprising the steps of determining the volume of the molten metal discharged into the mould and determining the one or more meniscus levels based on the molten metal casted from the mould in a predetermined period by a control unit, which is coupled to the tundish and mould for communication. Further, the method includes the step of fixing the meniscus level from the one or more meniscus levels depending on the condition of the mould. Thus, the method of present disclosure by varying meniscus levels in a mould result in reduced deformation and cracks in mould plates and increased life of mould plates with less operating cost.
