FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to the field of nutritional deficiencies and diet and more particularly to a method and system for detecting nutritional deficiencies and suggesting a diet, exercise and stress reduction plan using artificial intelligence.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical activity, the diet can help one to reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and cancer) and promote overall health.
Malnutrition and obesity are very common problems faced in the society due to hectic lifestyle. Lack of awareness as well as time, are both responsible for inadequate nutritional and mineral uptake of the body.
Moreover, very few expecting mothers have access to a standardized, reliable source for dietary requirements and exercise regimes, which are needed during different trimester of pregnancy. Inadequate nutrition, especially early in the pregnancy, may impair fetal brain development and cause abnormalities in endocrine functioning, organ development and the energy metabolism of fetus. Lack of sufficient nutrition leads to risk like iron deficiencies (anemia), insufficient growth of fetus, low Birth Weight and neurological disorders.
Along with dietary and physical recommendations, stress management is also an important part of civilization healthy lifestyle. Due to increased workload and personal issues, the problem of developing stress and depression is ubiquitous. Developments of stress conditions adversely affect health and wellness of an individual. The human body cannot achieve an optimum level of health and fitness without the mind being of a centered and balanced nature. As mental rest & relaxation is one of the seven key components of good health and fitness, it is important to become familiar with the approaches and techniques associated with balancing the mind. These three elements, viz diet, exercise and stress are inter-related and it is equally important to manage and balance and attain healthy lifestyle.
Dietitians and nutritionists prepare personalized diet plans for individuals. It is cost prohibitive for many individuals and households to consult with them. These professionals are also not readily available in semi-urban and rural areas. Therefore, most individuals or facilities rely on conventional wisdom or use websites with limited information or static templates. Conventional systems also fail to detect nutritional deficiencies before providing a diet plan. Therefore, there is a need in the art for an efficient, user-friendly, cost-effective method and system for detecting nutritional deficiencies and suggesting diet, exercise and stress reduction recommendations. An artificial intelligence based approach that can be used directly by the patient or with assistance from a health worker, ameliorates all or some of the deficiencies of the prior art or at least provides a viable alternative.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for detecting nutritional deficiencies using artificial intelligence.
One more object of the present invention to provide a system for detecting nutritional deficiencies and suggesting diet, exercise and stress reduction recommendations using artificial intelligence.
Another object of the present invention to provide a method and system for detecting nutritional deficiencies and suggesting diet, exercise and stress reduction recommendations using artificial intelligence that is cost-effective and user-friendly

Figure 2 illustrates a method (200) a method for detecting nutritional deficiencies and suggesting diet, exercise and stress reduction recommendations using artificial intelligence. The method (200) begins at step 210, by receiving and storing plurality of input elements in a control module (510). The plurality of input elements are selected from a group consisting of, but not limited to demographic information, basic health questions, body mass index (BMI), pregnancy details and symptoms.
At step 220, comparing the plurality of input elements with information stored in an information database (130), further comprises the steps of using artificial intelligence to determine a diet plan with the highest probability based on plurality of input elements from a group consisting of, demographic information, basic health questions, body mass index (BMI) and selecting that diet plan if its probability exceeds a pre-determined threshold probability.
Using artificial intelligence to determine the probability of nutritional deficiencies from a plurality of input symptoms received and selecting deficiencies whose probability exceeds a pre-determined threshold probability.
In accordance with embodiment of the invention, the deficiencies are selected from a group consisting of common multi-vitamin and mineral deficiencies
At step 230, providing one or more recommended attributes by an output module (520) for the plurality of input elements. One or more recommended attributes are selected from, diet plan, exercise plan and stress management based on selected diet plan, selected nutritional deficiencies and pregnancy status. As shown in figure 3, the flowchart explains that if probability of diet plan determined by artificial intelligence is below the pre-determined threshold value then it shows “not supported” status. Further, the suggested diet plan includes quantity of, but not limited to, grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy, protein to be consumed daily, recommended food items for each group and total daily calories
At step 240, displaying the one or more recommended attributes on a display unit (110) connected with a user device (140).
In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, the method of comparing (220) the plurality of input elements, the user starts at step 221 by, determining the deficiencies related to plurality of input elements received via artificial intelligence. If nutritional deficiencies are found to be present then additional food items in the diet have been added, otherwise no addition is done as shown in figure 3. Further, if person is a pregnant woman then change in diet plan is done based on current trimester otherwise no change in diet plan is observed. The information database (130) changes the diet food items and exercise regimes based on above-mentioned information.
At step 222, matching a probability of said deficiencies with the respective predetermined values of the information database (130) using artificial intelligence. Further, the deficiencies are selected from a group consisting of, but not limited to, multi-vitamin deficiency and mineral deficiency. Further, multi-vitamin deficiency is, selected from a group consisting of, but not limited to, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B3, vitamin B6, vitamin B7 (Biotin), vitamin B9 (Folate), vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin D and vitamin K. Further, mineral deficiency is, selected from a group consisting of, but not limited to, fluoride, iodine, iron, selenium, zinc.
