A Method For Determining Contact Force And A System Thereof, For Electric Railway Systems

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method (200) for determining contact force between a pantograph current collector (100) and an overhead wire (101) of an overhead equipment (102). The method (200) includes generating, by a processor (103), a first model (100a) of the pantograph current collector (100). The method (200) further includes generating, by the processor (103), a second model of the overhead equipment (102). The method (200) further includes defining, by the processor (103), a contact head (104) in the first model (100a) of the pantograph current collector (100). The contact head (104) is configured to be in moveable contact with the overhead wire (101). The method (200) further includes determining, by the processor (103), contact force between the pantograph current collector (100) and the overhead wire (101). The contact force is determined by implementing hard contact constraints, based on the position of the contact head (104).
