A Method For Determining Heat Flux In A Continuously Cast Mould

Abstract: The present disclosure a method (300) for determining heat flux in a continuously cast mould (101) is disclosed. The method (300) includes receiving by a computing unit (200), temperature values of a molten metal (104) in the mould (101). Further, the method (300) includes determining a residual error based on the temperature values and a resultant temperature. Furthermore, the method (300) includes determining thermophysical parameters influencing temperature of the molten metal (104), when the residual error is beyond an optimum range. Additionally, the method (300) includes assigning a quasi-set point value for thermophysical parameters. Until the residual error is within the optimum range, the method (300) includes iteratively performing, determining temperature value of the molten metal (104) based on quasi-set point value, determining residual error based on determined temperature value and resultant temperature value, assigning quasi-set point value based on residual error and determining heat flux of the mould (101) based on determined temperature when the residual error is within the optimum range.
