Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for inhibiting discoloration of cosmetic formulations comprising at least one amino acid. A composition, upon addition of which to a cosmetic formulation comprising at least one amino acid inhibits amino acid dependent color change is also provided.
Claims:1. A method of improving the color stability of a personal care cosmetic formulation comprising at least one amino acid, said method comprising the steps:
a. obtaining ingredients:
i. sodium potassium aluminum silicate (and) titanium dioxide (and) silica;
ii. polyacrylamide(and) C13-C14 isoparrafin (and) Laureth-7; and
iii. at least one chelating agent, and
b. mixing said ingredients with a personal care cosmetic formulation comprising at least one amino acid,
wherein said method provides long term color stability of said personal care cosmetic formulation.
2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said at least one chelating agent is selected from the group consisting of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) etidronic acid, ethyleneglycoltetraacetic acid (EGTA), ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid (EDDS), and combinations thereof.
3. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein said at least one amino acid is selected from the group consisting of L-histidine, L-carnosine, L-arginine, L-lysine, and combinations thereof.
4. The method as claimed in claim 3, wherein said at least one amino acid is L-histidine.
5. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein
a. sodium potassium aluminium silicate (and) titanium dioxide (and) silica to polyacrylamide (and) C13-C14 isoparaffin (and) Laureth-7 weight concentration ratio in said personal care cosmetic formulation is in the range of 0.5: 1 to 10: 1,
b. sodium potassium aluminium silicate (and) titanium dioxide (and) silica to ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid weight concentration ratio in said personal care cosmetic formulation is in the range of 2: 1 to 100: 1; and
c. polyacrylamide (and) C13-C14 isoparaffin (and) Laureth-7 to ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid weight concentration ratio in said formulation is in the range of 2: 1 to 16.66: 1.
6. A composition comprising:
a. sodium potassium aluminum silicate (and) titanium dioxide (and) silica;
b. polyacrylamide(and) C13-C14 isoparrafin (and) Laureth-7; and
c. at least one chelating agent,
wherein said composition upon addition to a personal care cosmetic formulation comprising at least one amino acid, improves the color stability of the said personal care cosmetic formulation.
7. The composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein said at least one chelating agent is selected from the group consisting of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) etidronic acid, ethyleneglycoltetraacetic acid (EGTA), and ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid (EDDS), and combinations thereof.
8. The composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein said at least one amino acid is selected from the group consisting of L-histidine, L-carnosine, L-arginine, L-lysine, and combinations thereof.
9. The composition as claimed in claim 8, wherein said at least one amino acid is L-histidine.
10. The composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein sodium potassium aluminium silicate (and) titanium dioxide (and) silica to polyacrylamide (and) C13-C14 isoparaffin (and) Laureth-7 weight concentration ratio in said personal care cosmetic formulation is in the range of 0.5:1 to 10:1, wherein sodium potassium aluminium silicate (and) titanium dioxide (and) silica to EDTA weight concentration ratio in said personal care cosmetic formulation is in the range of 2:1 to 100:1, and wherein polyacrylamide (and) C13-C14 isoparaffin (and) Laureth-7 to at least one chelating agent weight concentration ratio in said personal care cosmetic formulation is in the range of 2: 1 to 16.66: 1
11. A personal care cosmetic formulation comprising:
a. at least one amino acid; and
b. a composition comprising:
i. sodium potassium aluminum silicate (and) titanium dioxide (and) silica;
ii. polyacrylamide (and) C13-C14 isoparaffin (and) Laureth-7; and
iii. at least one chelating agent.
12. The personal care cosmetic formulation as claimed in claim 11, wherein sodium potassium aluminium silicate (and) titanium dioxide (and) silica weight concentration in said personal care cosmetic formulation is in the range of 1-8%, wherein polyacrylamide (and) C13-C14 isoparaffin (and) Laureth-7 weight concentration in said personal care cosmetic formulation is in the range of 0.5-3%; wherein at least one chelating agent weight concentration ratio in said personal care cosmetic formulation is in the range of 0.05-0.5%; and wherein at least one amino acid weight concentration in said personal care cosmetic formulation is in the range of 0.01-1%.
13. The personal care cosmetic formulation as claimed in claim 11, wherein said at least one amino acid is selected from the group consisting of L-histidine, L-carnosine, L-arginine, L-lysine, and combinations thereof.
14. The personal care cosmetic formulation as claimed in claim 13, wherein said at least one amino acid is L-histidine.
15. The personal care cosmetic formulation as claimed in claim 11, optionally further comprising structurants, emulsifiers, sunscreens and pigments, humectants, emollients, bioactives, plant extracts, fragrances, and combinations thereof.
