A Method For Making Hydration Resistant Lime Grains From Limestone Through Intergrated Decomposition Sintering Route
Abstract: There is proposed a method for the preparation of hydration resistant lime grains which comprises the following steps: a) Subjecting limestone to crushing and grinding, b) Screening the ground material and taking the material passing through 100 BSS, c) Adding dextrin solution upto about 0.5 wt.% of the powder as binder in a mixture, preferably with at least one chemical additive selected from fer Tous sulphate, limonite, synthetic imenite, Fe2O3 and TiO2, d) Granulating the mixture by passing through 30 mesh BSS for compaction. e) Compacting the granules to required shapes and sizes, followed by f) Subjecting the compacts to a sintering step at temperatures between 1500° C and 1850° C, whereafter the sintered compacts are cooled, crushed and ground.
