Specification

CLIAMS:1. A process for production of biosurfactants from lignocellulosic biomass, said process comprising of:
a. obtaining hydrolysate from at least one lignocellulosic biomass;
b. adjusting the pH of said hydrolysate to 6.5-7.5;
c. inoculating a culture of at least one biosurfactant producing microorganism at a 1-5% (v/v) concentration with said hydrolysate; and
d. incubating at a temperature range of 25-35ºC, for 48-96 hours with shaking at 100-200rpm.
2. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein said at least one biosurfactant producing microorganism is selected from the group consisting of Pseudomonas sp., Thiobacillusthiooxidans sp, Agrobacterium sp., Bacilus sp, Candida sp., Lactobacillus fermentum sp Rhodococcuserythropolis sp, Arthrobacter sp., Nocardiaerythropolis sp, Corynebacterium sp., Mycobacterium sp, and combinations thereof.
3. The process as claimed in any of the claims 1-2, wherein step c) further comprises of addition of at least one metal salt, wherein said at least one metal said can be selected from the group consisting of at least one transitional metal, at least one alkali metal, at least one alkaline earth metal, and combinations thereof.
4. The process as claimed in claim 3, wherein said at least one transitional metal is selected from the group consisting of iron, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, and combinations thereof, said at least one alkali earth metal is selected from the group consisting of magnesium, calcium, and combinations thereof, and said at least one alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, sodium, potassium, and combinations thereof.
5. The process as claimed in claim 3, wherein said at least one transitional metal salt concentration is in the range of 5-90ppm, said at least one alkaline earth metal salt concentration is in the range of 143-333ppm, said at least one alkali metal salt concentration is in the range of 5000-10000ppm.
6. The process as claimed in any of the claims 1-3, wherein biosurfactant production is in the range of 6-10g/L.
7. A process of production of hydrolysate from lignocellulosic biomass, said process comprising of:
a. obtaining at least one lignocellulosic biomass,
b. treating said at least one lignocellulosic biomass with a reagent selected from the group of sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, and ammonium hydroxide;
c. washing said treated at least one lignocellulosic biomass with water and drying said lignocellulosic biomass;
d. contacting said dried lignocellulosic biomass with cellulase,
wherein said process results in production of hydrolysate.
8. The process as claimed in claim 7, wherein sulfuric acid v/v concentration is in the range of 0.1-0.5%, phosphoric acid concentration is in the range of 0.1-0.5%, ammonia concentration is in the range of 15-25%.
9. The process as claimed in any of the claims 7-8, wherein said treatment of step b) is carried out at a temperature range of 140-160ºC, for 15-30 minutes, at a pressure of 50-80psi.
10. The process as claimed in any of the claims 7-9, wherein said drying of step c) is carried out at a temperature range of 50-70ºC, until residual moisture weight percentage of said lignocellulosic biomass is in the range of 5-10%.
11. The process as claimed in any of the claim 7-10, wherein in step d), cellulase w/v concentration is in the range of 12-18%.
12. The process as claimed in any of the claims 7-11, wherein step d) is carried out at a temperature range of 40-60ºC, for 20-28 hours.
13. The process as claimed in claim 1 or claim 7, wherein said at least one lignocellulosic biomass is selected from the group consisting of wheat straw, rice straw, sweet sorghum straw, corn stover, bamboo, wood chips, switchgrass, and combinations thereof.
14. The process as claimed in claim 1 or claim 7, wherein said hydrolysate total reducing sugar content is in the range of 72-77mg/ml.
15. The process as claimed in claim 14, wherein said hydrolysate total reducing sugar comprises of about 96-99% of cellobiose, about 0.5-2% of glucose, and 0.5-2% of xylose.
