A Method For The Melting Of Hot Direct Reduced Iron (D.R.I) In An Electric Arc Furnace
There is disciosed a method for the melting of direct reduced iron (DRI) in an electric arc furnace (EAF), which comprises the following steps:a. transporting the hot direct reduced iron ( DRI) in a sealed container without access to air ormoisture,b. arranging the discharge opening of the container having the hot DRi above the feeding chuteof the electric arc furnace EAF),c. introducing into the container an inert gas like nitrogen to have an inert atmosphere,d. discharging the hot DRI into the EAF,e. subjecting the contents of the EAF to melting and steei making steps.There is also disclosed a system therefor.
