Background of the invention and related prior Art
Nutraceuticals, are foods or bioactive ingredients in foods that protect or promote health whether delivered in raw agricultural commodities, processed foods, dietary supplements, extracts, beverages or other products and occurs at the intersection of food and pharmaceutical industries. The development of next generation nutraceutical "super foods" or products consisting value-addition in the traditional natural diets. Their ingredients have tremendous impact on the health care system and may provide medical health benefits including the prevention and or treatment of diseases. Nutraceuticals have

potential to be used as food supplement, preventive medicine and the growing evidence
points in the direction that certain foods fight and or prevent against diseases.
A balanced diet should contain different types of food in such quantities and proportions
so
that the need for calories, proteins, minerals, vitamins and other nutrients is adequately
met. A balanced diet should provide around 60%-70% of total calories from
carbohydrates,
10%-12%from protein and 20%-25% from fat along with other bioactive phytochemicals
such as dietary fibre, antioxidants which have positive health benefits.
India, being a country in developmental transition, faces the dual burden of pre-transition
diseases like under-nutrition and infectious diseases as well as post-transition,
lifestylerelated
degenerative diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular
diseases and cancers. According to recent National Family Health Survey and UNICEF
Reports, 46% of preschool children and 30% of adults in India suffer from moderate and
severe grades of protein-calorie malnutrition as judged by anthropometric indicators.
Currently, India is in nutrition transition with 10% rural adults and 20% urban adults
suffering from over-nutrition leading to an emerging double burden of malnutrition.
It is clear from the above discussion, that while certain sections of Indian population are
plagued by under-nutrition, other population groups are suffering from the detrimental
effects of over-nutrition. In this scenario, it can be safely concluded that most of the
Indian
population is not aware of what should be the right balanced nutrition for them leading

them towards the undesirable consequences as stated above. Moreover, several factors like age, sex. physical work levels and physiological stress along with personal and family health history also define the nutritional status of a person.

The vision of a strong e commerce economy is apparent in the years to come on the
driving force of the 3D- Democracy, Demography and Demand. The internet in India has
taken more than 15 years to cross 100—million user mark. Now it is at the cusp of a giant
leap.
The Indian consumers are rapidly advancing towards adopting technology.DNA or
Deoxyribonucleic Acid is the basic genetic material of organisms which makes them
unique from one another. In other words, it is the "DNA" that defines the basic nature or
Prakriti of an individual. Vita originally means Life in Latin. In this context, Vita has
been used as an abbreviation implying something "Vital for Life" or Nutrition without
which survival is impossible. So, basically the purpose of DNAVITA is to provide
nutrition using ingredients given by the Prakriti (Nature) for your Prakriti
(DNA).DNAVITA stands out among all the other Health Supplements. The two
distinguishing features of DNAVITA that establishes it as a unique health supplement
are:
□ CUSTOMIZED
□ MADE-TO-ORDER
No other health supplement currently available in the Indian market has the above two
features. Now let us explain why these two features are important in the present
scenario:-
Customized:-
A customized health supplement has several advantages over a conventional health

supplement. Though an array of conventional health supplements of different brands is
available in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) market segment, it has the
following
disadvantages:-
D Conventional Health Supplements are often advertised to aid the nutrition ofonly
vulnerable population groups like Children, Women, Pregnant and Lactating Women
often making people perceive that only these population groups need health supplements.
D Most people, especially adolescents and young adults, underestimate the power of food
and nutrition as a preventive measure to maintain a sound and healthy life. They rarely
visit dietitian/nutritionists/food experts to assess whether they consume a balanced diet
regularly. As a result quite often, they develop unhealthy food habits which may not be
enough to sustain a healthy life increasing their disease susceptibility as they age. They
may not even consider taking health supplements.
D Some people, like older adults and women often choose health supplements on
impulse, peer pressure, fellow recommendation or at one's own will without even
realizing whether the chosen product would actually suffice their body requirements
leading them to make a wrong choice.
D Conventional Health Supplements available in the market are mostly OTC (Over the
Counter) products which are readily available and accessible by masses. People who are a
bit health conscious often desire to buy them but are often left perplexed while choosing
their appropriate health supplement often being misled by opportunist pharmacists.
□ It has been noted that people do not check proper label information prior to purchase of

health supplements often missing out crucial information. For instance, there are many
sugar free products available in the markets which are very popular among diabetics. In
reality, although most of the sugar free products have "No Added Sugar", but are often
laden with artificial sweeteners which on regular consumption may have deleterious
health effects.
□ Conventional Health Supplements often follow the regular distribution cycle followed
in general trades as a result of which customers are often compelled to intake health
supplements which are as old as 12 months. Such long storage often depletes product
integrity in terms of both quality and nutrition.
To overcome the above drawbacks, DNAVITA has been invented as a CUSTOMIZED
and MADE TO ORDER Health Supplement which caters to supplement the nutritional
requirements of any person above the age of 5 years.
The customization is based on the following three principles:-
1. Collection of Relevant Inputs
2. Data Processing using Intelligent Nutrition Code (1NCODE) inbuilt in the online
platform of Sastasundar
3. Health Profile and Product Recommendation as Relevant Outputs D Relevant Inputs:-
As discussed earlier, it is a well known fact that the nutritional requirements of an
individual depends on age, height, weight, health history, food habits as they vary from
person to person. Accordingly, a questionnaire has been devised, through which the
following respective inputs are taken directly from customers via the e-commerce
platform :-
A. Personal Details: - The following personal Details of a customer are taken as inputs:-

i. Name and Gender: - It is usually obtained from customer registration details. The
customer can also add details of family members and friends (Max. upto 9 nos.) from his
registered Customer ID.
ii. Date of Birth: - Date of Birth is an input to calculate the age of a customer. It is a
mandatory input and is obtained usually obtained from customer registration details. Date
of Birth usually reflects the age of a person which in turn determines their population
group.
iii. Height: - Height is an input to calculate the Body Mass Index (BMI) of a person. It is
usually recorded in cm (centimeters) or ft-in (feet-inches)
iv. Weight: - Weight is an input to calculate the Body Mass Index (BMI) of a person. It is
usually recorded in kg (Kilogram) or lb (Pounds).
B. Health Information: -
i. Health History of a person is a vital determinant of his health status. Both personal
health history and family health history of an individual are significant.
□ In Personal Health History, only those health conditions which have a direct
correlation with food intake are considered as given below. Users have the option of
making one/multiple choices:-
Diabetes
Heart Related Problem,
Hypertension
Anaemia
Low Blood Pressure
Protein Energy Malnutrition

Muscle Weakness
Bone Related Problem
Indigestion
Cough and Cold
Bleeding Gums
Constipation
None
□ In Family Health History, only those health conditions are considered which can be
passed on by heredity and have a direct correlation with food intake. Users have the
option of making one/multiple choices:-
Diabetes
Heart Related Problem
Hypertension
Bone Related Problem
Obesity
ii. Known Vitamin Deficiencies: - In case people are aware of their individual Vitamin
Deficiencies, especially Vitamin D and Vitamin B12, they are required to provide it as an
input.
iii. Benefits: - Different people prefer different health benefits from their health
supplements. Each health supplement recommended to customers has defined health
benefits by virtue of their inherent composition. Accordingly respective benefits are
given to individual customers according to their population group and gender.

The generic list of health benefits are as follows:-
1. Balanced Weight
2. Healthy and Glowing Skin
3. Maintain Cholesterol Level
4. Sexual Wellbeing
5. Women Health
6. Added Vitamin B12
7. Added Vitamin D
8. Added Vitamin B12 and D
9. Bone Health

10. Builds Immunity
11. Calcium Fortified
12. Fitness and Strength
13. Hemoglobin/Iron
14. Memory
15. Protein
16. Rich in Antioxidants
17. Child Health
C. Food Habits: - People belong to diverse backgrounds according to which their food habits differ from one another. Each and every individual is required to provide the relevant data in the digital platform. Each population group- Children (C), Adolescents (A), Adults (D) has different questionnaires according to their respective food habits-Vegetarians/Jain Vegetarians (V),Eggetarians (E) and Non Vegetarians (N), as health

conditions, food portion size requirement and food selection criteria differ for each population group and diet type. So in all, there are a total of 9 different sets of questionnaires as follows:-

□ Data Processing inbuilt in the online platform :-
The revolutionary interactive digital platform of DNAVITA is linked to process customized nutrition solutions using scientific Intelligent Nutrition Code (INCODE). The basic workflow of the online platform of DNAVITA is as shown in Figure 1. As shown, the customized health supplement according to the invention is not offered if the user is a pregnant or lactating woman, or a child below 5 years age or a child who is diabetic. The inputs obtained above are processed to obtain the following intermediate inputs which again decide the final output. The intermediate inputs are:-D Population Group: - From the input on DoB (Date of Birth), the age of a person can be calculated. Age determines the population group of an individual according to which their energy, protein and micronutrient requirements vary. As per ICMR RDA (Table-ICMR RDA 2010), there are 3 basic population groups:-
1. Children (0 months to 9 years)
2. Adolescents (10 years to 17 years)

3. Adults (18 years and above)
□ Diet Type: - Four crucial inputs- Height, Weight, Health History and Food Habits
determine the diet type. Let us see how:-
□ The height and weight inputs from individuals are used to calculate the Body Mass
Index, orBMI. The World Health Organization defines BMI as the weight in kilograms
divided by the square of the height in metres (kg/m2).
BMI = Weight (in Kg) / (Height in m) 2
BMI provides an indication of health status. A number of research studies have
demonstrated a relationship between raised BMI and increased risk of illness or death. As
per BMI value interpretation, individuals are basically categorized as Normal,
Underweight (Thinness, Severe Thinness for individuals aged between 5 years to 17
years), Overweight, Obese (Class I, Class II, Class III Obesity for individuals aged 18
years and above).
As per BMI, the diet type recommended as per general principles of nutrition is as
follows:-

The Health History, both personal and family also governs the diet type of an individual as follows:-

The Food Habit questionnaire gives a detailed idea of the dietary pattern of the individual, which enables the assessment of the Protein and Micronutrients especially Iron, Calcium and Vitamin B12 in the person's daily diet. Accordingly the diet type is recommended as follows:-

□ Relevant Outputs:-
All the relevant inputs are finally processed to give the following output:-
□ Health Profile
□ Recommended Customized Product

□ Health Profile: - A health profile of the customer is generated as per the received
inputs. It provides a detailed overview of the body composition analysis along with a diet
profile followed by the personalized health tips for the customer.
□ Body Composition Analysis: It includes
□ Body Mass Index (BMI) Value & Interpretation
□ Body Fat Percentage & Interpretation
□ Ideal Body Weight & Desired Range of Body Weight
□ Daily Calorie Requirements
□ Diet Profile: It reflects the adequacy status of the following nutrients in die't:-
□ Protein
□ Vitamin B12
□ Iron
□ Calcium
The Health Profile indicates the present health status of a person with the aid of the body
composition analysis and diet profile. Personalized health tips including details of their
recommended DNAVITA conclude the Health Profile. It can be easily viewed online and
if anyone desires, it can be easily downloaded from the online interface.
□ Recommended Customized Product:-The product customization of DNAVITA is
based upon the recommended diet type for a particular individual guided by the suitable
serve size as per population group. The detailed ingredient list along with the relevant
nutritional value per 100 gm and per serve indicating the percentage Recommended
Dietary Allowance (RDA) as per ICMR 2010 data, dosage information and health benefit
details are clearly displayed before a customer places order.

General Dietary Variations as Per Population Group and Physiological Needs:-□ As Per Population Groups:-

Children: -
Childhood is one of the most crucial stages of human growth since it is the key period of overall growth and development. They require all nutrients that play a vital role for their health maintenance, especially for Bone, Brain and Immunity Development. Children, being picky eaters, often have their daily nutritional requirement incomplete. Health Supplements are hence a basic pre requisite to bridge the nutritional gap that most children face due to inadequate food intake. Adolescents: -
Adolescents undergo a dramatic increase in physical growth and development over a relatively short period of time. This sudden growth spurt is associated with puberty, cognitive, and emotional changes that make adolescence an especially vulnerable period of life. Due to this sudden growth spurt, there is an increased demand in energy and nutrients. During this stage of lifecycle, busy schedule, extracurricular activities and consumption of unhealthy fast food soften lead to an imbalance in nutrition. Hence, to strike a proper balance of nutrients in their daily diet, adolescents need Health Supplements to meet their needs. Adults: -
Adulthood is such a stage of human life where an individual has attained his/her maximum growth. During this stage energy requirements for maintaining body's physiological functions are stabilized and accordingly the nutritional requirements also become stable. Their dietary needs vary according the physical activity involved in their daily work life. Hectic lifestyle often leads to irregular food habits among adults which may lead to a deficit in their daily nutritional needs.

Health Supplements are hence necessary for adults to maintain their overall health status. □ As Per Physiological Needs:-Increased Calorie and Protein Needs: -
Low Body Mass Index (BMI) occurs when there is insufficient calorie and protein intake. It occurs when a person is unable to meet the body's energy requirements and so becomes underweight. Underweight status may be related to acute under nutrition, chronic illness, poor food selection and unhealthy lifestyle. Protein is an important part of life as it is a vital building block in growth, maintenance and repair of body tissues. A health supplement with high protein content is recommended for such individuals to fulfill their protein deficiency in diet. High protein health supplements with an extra dose of protein and liberal dose of vitamins and minerals forms an integral part of high protein diet.
Diabetes:-
Diabetes is a metabolic disorder characterized by decreased ability or total inability of the tissues to utilize carbohydrates. Diet rich in complex carbohydrates from wholegrain sources with moderate protein and fat content, adequate micronutrients and no added sugar is beneficial for diabetic persons. Complex Carbohydrates from whole grains ensure slow release of energy since they tend to digest slowly thereby increasing blood glucose levels in a controlled manner. Hence health supplements with high fibre and moderate protein content, low calorie sweetener with no added sugar along with liberal dose of vitamins and minerals help in diabetes management. Fat Restriction:-

Fat is an important macronutrient that is required in moderate amounts as a vital source of energy, providing the body with essential fatty acids, promoting the absorption of fat soluble vitamins, forming the structural component of the body. Certain health conditions like obesity, hypertension, and heart related problems like high cholesterol demand reduced intake of saturated fat which is responsible for forming fatty deposits thereby thickening and narrowing the blood vessels and reducing the blood flow in heart. Such problems can be alleviated by proper diet control minimizing the intake of saturated fats and increasing the consumption of fibre rich food and healthy fats like omega fatty acids. Dietary fibres, in both soluble and insoluble forms, add bulk to diet, thereby increasing satiety and reducing appetite. While dietary fibre brings down the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL), omega fatty acids (MUFA and PUFA) balance the high cholesterol levels in blood, thereby lowering the risk of cardiovascular diseases. High dietary fibre intake has also been linked to management of hypertension. Micronutrients like Vitamin C, Vitamin A help in scavenging the free radicals generated due to LDL Oxidation. Health Supplements with low fat and good fibre content can assist in its management. DNAVITA Ingredients:-
Rolled Oats, Sorghum and Brown Rice are the main cereals used in DNAVITA. It derives its main source of Protein from Soy, Milk and Whey.

□ Rolled Oats:-
Rolled Oats is a common breakfast cereal which has a low glycaemic index and has high protein content among cereals. It is one of the richest dietary sources of the soluble fiber β-glucan and has been associated with a reduced risk for coronary heart disease. Oat β-glucan helps to lower cholesterol level by preventing its absorption in body. Complex carbohydrates in the form of dietary fiber from rolled oats ensure slow release of energy in the body since they tend to digest slowly thereby increasing blood glucose levels in a controlled manner. Soluble dietary fiber from rolled oats can improve the glycaemic response. Rolled oats also aid in reducing blood pressure and/or preventing the onset of hypertension. Research indicates direct correlation between higher dietary fibre intake and reduced risk for development of diabetes and hypertension. Fibre intake has also been positively linked with weight management and/or prevention of obesity due to increased satiety, delayed gastric emptying and alterations in satiety related hormones. Rolled oats also aid in constipation management due to its tibre content as fibre increases stool bulk helping it move through the colon. Rolled oats also contain micronutrients like calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc. □ Sorghum:-

Sorghum is a powerhouse of nutrition, being rich in dietary fiber and protein. It is alsoa whole grain and is beneficial against diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease. It is beneficial for maintaining optimum digestive health and cholesterol levels. Studies indicate that various phytochemicals like tannins, phenolic acids, anthocyanins, phytosterols and policosanols are responsible for the anti-hyperglycemic and hypolipidemic effects of sorghum. Sorghum grain is high in potassium (350 mg/100g) and low in sodium (6 mg/100g) therefore promoting healthy blood pressure. Sorghum also contains appreciable amounts of thiamine, niacin, iron and phosphorus. □ Brown Rice:-
Brown Rice is a whole grain in which only the hull or husk layer is removed with the germ, bran and endosperm remaining intact. This helps to retain the protein, dietary fibre, essential fatty acids, polyphenols including various B vitamins and minerals like calcium, iron, zinc, potassium and magnesium making it more nutritious than white rice. Brown Rice has a lower glycemic index than white rice; hence it is more beneficial for hyperglycemic and persons susceptible to type ll diabetes. Regular consumption of brown rice and other whole grains are known to reduce the risks of developing diabetes. Magnesium found in brown rice is acts as a cofactor for regulating many enzymatic reactions regulating glucose and insulin metabolism. It also helps in lowering high blood pressure. The protein in brown rice helps to raise the blood levels of nitric oxide (NO), which is known to improve blood vessel dilation, inhibit oxidative damage of cholesterol thereby preventing the formation of atherosclerotic plaques. Dietary fibre in brown rice leads to increased satiety and subsequent hunger reduction which helps in weight loss. The fibre component also aids in preventing chronic constipation by acting like a soft

sponge that may be pushed through intestinal tract quickly and easily. Rice bran which is
present in brawn rice has bioactive properties that can modify the gut microbiome which
helps to improve immunity through proper nutrient absorption and prevention against
enteric infections.
□ Soy Products (Defatted Soy Flour, Soy Protein Isolate, Soy Lecithin):-
Soy is one of the most important sources of plant protein. Soy has 43.2 gm protein per
100gm. Soy protein is a high quality protein which contains all the essential amino acids.
The protein Efficiency Ratio (PER) and Biological Value of soy protein is 2.2 and 74
respectively. It has a PDCAAS (Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score) of 1
and is considered equivalent to animal protein. Research has also indicated that soy
proteins are digested and absorbed as easily as cow's milk. Soy has fair amount of B
Vitamins (Bl, B2 and B6). It is a good source of minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium,
phosphorus and potassium. Soy is basically used in three forms in DNAVITA:-
□ Defatted Toasted Soy Flour
□ Soy Protein Isolate
□ Soy Lecithin
Defatted Toasted Soy Flour is obtained from milling the soybean residue from soybeans
with or without hulls, after removal of the oil through solvent extraction, with the
application of significant heat treatment before, during or after oil extraction or milling.
The heat treatment is of such nature that all heat-labile anti-nutritional factors are
destroyed completely. Soy Protein Isolate is a textured vegetable protein product obtained
from soy by reduction and/or removal of their non protein components and is the most
refined soy protein product. While soy flour contains about 50% protein content, soy

isolate has about 90% protein. However, unlike soy flour, soy isolates do not have any natural fiber content. Lecithin obtained from soy, is natural dietary source of essential phospholipids viz phosphatidyl choline, phosphatidyl ethanolamine, phosphatidyl inositol and phosphatidyl serine. These phospholipids are the building blocks of life and are vital for healthy function of every cell membrane in the body.
Soy isoflavones, a group of phytochemicals found in soy products have antioxidantand cardio protective properties. They help in prevention of oxidation of LDL cholesterol (responsible for plaque formation in arterial walls, or atherosclerosis) improving arterial health and reducing the risk of heart diseases. They exert lipid lowering effect by reducing the absorption of bile acid and enhancing the secretion of bile acids. Soy isoflavones also exhibit proestrogenic activity which lowers incidences of osteoporosis and post menopausal symptoms in women. Soy isoflavones can also limit fat accumulation in liver and other parts of the body reducing lipotoxicity and other side effects of obesity. Dietary fibres in soy also cause a sensation of satiety thereby reducing appetite and helping in weight loss. They play a significant role in diabetes management by improving glucose control and reducing insulin resistance. It also has a favorable effect on constipation as it regulates bowel function. Soy constituents like isoflavones, oligopeptides and dietary fibre have also been shown to reduce risk for hypertension through effects on vasodilation and inhibition of a key enzyme involved in the regulation of blood pressure. □ Milk Solids
Milk Solids are a source high quality dietary protein which contains all the essential amino acids.

The Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER) and Biological Value of milk is 2.5 and 91 respectively. It has a PDCAAS (Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score) of Skimmed Milk Powder (SMP), also known as Nonfat Dry Milk (NDM) is used in DNAVITA. It is a low fat variant of milk powder where the milk fat is skimmed out of the whole milk and the water from the skimmed milk is removed by evaporation and drying. The carbohydrate, protein and fat content of skimmed milk powder are 52 gm, 35 gm and 1 gm per 100gm respectively. The primary sugar in milk solids is lactose while casein is the predominant protein found in milk Milk proteins are of significant physiological importance to the body for functions relating to the uptake of nutrients and vitamins and they are a source of biologically active peptides. Protein is the major structural component of muscle and other tissues in body. Dietary protein is thus essential to for the growth and maintenance of muscle mass. It is also required for the formation of blood as hemoglobin, which is the major blood pigment is made of protein. In addition, proteins are also used to produce hormones and enzymes which regulate the metabolic functions in body. SMP is also rich in calcium and phosphorus. Both these minerals are required for normal growth and development of bones and teeth. Research has shown that skimmed milk supplement increased the height of stunted, low protein-fed children. Apart from nutritional benefits, milk solids also contribute to the overall body, texture and flavour of a product to which it is added. Although skimmed milk powder has very low fat content, its addition naturally imparts a milky and creamy flavour which increases the overall acceptability of the product. □ Whey Protein Concentrate

It has a PDCAAS (Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score) of Skimmed Milk Powder (SMP), also known as Nonfat Dry Milk (NDM) is used in DNAVITA. Whey is the translucent liquid component that is obtained after coagulating milk. It is generally a by product of cheese manufacturing. The milk serum proteins are commonly known as whey proteins. Whey Protein Concentrate is a high protein powder obtained from whey. It is manufactured by removing the water, lactose, ash and some minerals whereby the protein content is increased up to a minimum of 80%. The major proteins found in whey are betalactoglobulin, alpha lactalbumin, bovineserum albumin, heavy and light chain immunoglobulins, lactoferrin, lactoperoxidase and glycomacropeptide. Whey protein contains all 20 amino acids and all nine essential amino acids and itis a rich and balanced source of the sulphur containing amino acids like cysteine and BCAAs (branched chain amino acids). Cysteine plays a key role in the regulation of whole body protein metabolism and is also required for the biosynthesis of glutathione, a tripeptide with antioxidant and immune stimulatory properties. BCAAs comprise of leucine, isoleucine and valine which help in repairing and rebuilding lean muscle tissue. Leucine plays a key role in promoting muscle protein synthesis and growth. Whey protein is the best protein for fat loss during energy restricted diets, when combined with exercise. It influences on appetite and hunger controlling hormones. Research has shown that, individuals who exercise benefit from diets high in leucine and have more lean muscle tissue and less body fat compared to individuals whose diet contains lower levels of leucine. Whey protein also contains bioactive components which enhances immunity and also gives protection against infections and viruses.
Whey protein is easily digestible and is efficiently absorbed into the body. It is often referred to as a "fast" protein for its ability to quickly provide nourishment to muscles. □ Almonds

Almonds are a powerhouse of nutrition containing appreciable amounts of protein, dietary fibre and micronutrients especially vitamin E, calcium, magnesium and potassium. Although they are a nutrient dense food item with a high fat content, the fatty acid profile of almonds is beneficial as it is low in saturated fats and high in unsaturated fatty acids- MUFAs (Monounsaturated Fatty Acids) and PUFAs (Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids). Almonds also have the advantage of being low in sodium. A high intake of calcium, magnesium and potassium, together with a low sodium intake, is associated with protection against bone demineralization, arterial hypertension, insulin resistance, and overall cardiovascular risk. Almonds have cholesterol lowering effects by virtue of its nutrients which help in decreased absorption and increased excretion of cholesterol and bile acid and an increased LDL cholesterol receptor activity. They also regulate the enzymes which are involved in cholesterol synthesis and bile acid production. Almonds are also rich in the amino acid L-arginine which is the precursor of nitric oxide (NO) - a potent vasodilator. It helps in minimizing endothelial injury caused by cardiovascular risk factors thereby preventing the onset of atherosclerosis. Almonds have low glycaemic index along with an ideal combination of protein, dietary fibre and MUFAS. Research shows that almond-enriched diet resulted in improved glycaemic control resulting in significant reduction in fasting glucose and insulin levels control, when compared to an almond-free diet. Almonds also decrease post-prandial glycaemia and oxidative damage in healthy individuals. Almonds are also associated with increased satiety indicating that they also have role in weight management. Almonds are also known to be a good brain food due to the presence of the amino acid phenylalanine which triggers the production of mood-boosting neurotransmitters.

□ Sweetener (Low Calorie Sweetener, Sugar):-Low Calorie Sweetener & Sugar are the commonly used sweetening agents in DNAVITA. Low calorie sweetener used in DNAVITA is a combination of steviol glycosides (Reb A) and erythritol. Reb A or Rebaudioside A is the principal sweetening steviol glycoside of Stevia rebaudiana leaves. Erythritol, a non caloric bulk sweetener, is found naturally in fruits and vegetables. It is considered natural as it is commercially produced by fermentation of glucose instead of any chemical reaction. Clinical studies have shown erythritol to be the best tolerated polyol with no undesirable side effect at consumption level 2-4 times higher than other polyols. □ Edible Vegetable Oil-Edible Vegetable Oil which is used in DNAVITA is a blend of physically refined rice bran oil (80%) and refined sunflower oil (20%) with 5000 ppm oryzanol. It has a good balance of MUFA and PUFA. Oryzanol is known to have cholesterol lowering effects. □ Additives:-
