A Method Of Manufacturing Low Pressure Turbine Intermediate Ring From Single Rolled Plates

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing low pressure turbine intermediate ring from single rolled plates by rolling two structural steel half ring (lower half & upper half) and clamping parting plane used to clamp the two half rings joint clamps (3);preparing a weld groove to make the hardened face (4)at that location along the inner diameter, where hard material is deposited through fusion weld; and machining weld groove to get the desire shape of conical hard face (4) with conical tip (4) on inner diameter of circumference to maintain desired gap (7) between the GBC (guide Blade carrier)(1) and Intermediate ring (3) along the periphery of hardened face.
