Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for preparing super fluxed sinter having a high basicity (CaO/SiO2) of 6-8 and the super fluxed sinter obtained therefrom. The method for preparing super fluxed sinter comprises adding about 38 to 42 wt% of lime in a sintering mixture and subjecting the sintered mass/cake to a primary and secondary stabilization. After secondary stabilization, the sinter disintegrates spontaneously to generate fines. These fines are mixed with a binder to provide agglomerates or briquettes of super fluxed sinter that can be charged in steelmaking furnaces to help in dephosphorization of steel. The super fluxed sinter of the present disclosure has a high basicity and increased shelf life.
