A Method To Monitor Battery Health Of A Vehicle.

Abstract: The present invention proposes method steps to monitor battery health of a vehicle. The method step 201 comprises cranking the vehicle at least two times within a duration of a minute. Method step 5 202, comprises recording a real time value of battery voltage with respect to time measured by the battery (102) voltage sensor (103) by the control unit (101). Method step 203, comprises comparing the said recorded value with a stored reference value. The stored reference value refers to a pre10 determined values of battery voltage with respect to time. Method step 204, comprises indicating the health of the battery (102) based on the said comparison.

Specification

Claims:1. A method (200) to method to monitor battery (102) health of a vehicle,
the vehicle comprising at least an control unit(101)), the control unit
(101) in communication with an battery voltage sensor (103), the
methods 5 steps comprising:
cranking (201) the vehicle at least two times within a duration of
minute;
recording (202) a real time value of battery voltage with respect
to time measured by the battery voltage sensor (103) in the
10 control unit(101);
comparing (203) the said recorded value with a stored reference
value;
indicating (204) the health of the battery (102) based on the said
comparison.
2. The method (200) to monitor battery (102) health of a vehicle as
claimed in claim 1, wherein recording includes keeping the vehicle in
no load or a constant load condition for least 10 seconds after the last
crank.

3. The method (200) to monitor battery (102) health of a vehicle as
claimed in claim 1, wherein the stored reference value refers to a predetermined
values of battery voltage with respect to time.
4. The method (200) to monitor battery (102) health of a vehicle as
claimed in claim 1, wherein indicating the health of the battery (102)
comprises an audio or visual means of indication.
5. A control unit(101) adapted to monitor battery 5 (102) health of a
vehicle, the vehicle comprising at least an battery voltage sensor (103)
in communication with the control unit(101), the control unit(101)
configured to:
record a real time value of battery voltage with respect to time by
10 the control unit(101) measured by the battery (102) voltage
sensor (103);
compare the said recorded value with a stored reference value in
the control unit(101);
indicate the health of the battery (102) based on the said
comparison.
6. The control unit (101) to monitor battery (102) health of a vehicle,
wherein recording includes keeping the vehicle in no load or a
constant load condition for least 10 seconds after the last crank.
7. The control unit (101) to monitor battery (102) health of a vehicle,
wherein the stored reference value refers to a pre-determined values
of battery voltage with respect to time.
8. The control unit (101) to monitor battery (102) health of a vehicle,
wherein indicating the health of the battery (102) comprises an audio
or visual means of indication. , Description:The present invention proposes method steps to monitor battery health of
a vehicle. The method step 201 comprises cranking the vehicle at least
two times within a duration of a minute. Method step 5 202, comprises
recording a real time value of battery voltage with respect to time
measured by the battery (102) voltage sensor (103) by the control unit
(101). Method step 203, comprises comparing the said recorded value
with a stored reference value. The stored reference value refers to a pre10
determined values of battery voltage with respect to time. Method step
204, comprises indicating the health of the battery (102) based on the said
comparison.
