Abstract: The instant disclosure provides a mild cleansing soap formulation, and the method to prepare the same. The soap is obtained by maintaining a particular range of weight ratio of a mixture of talc to starch.
Claims:1. A soap formulation comprising:
a. talc;
b.at least one starch;
c. at least one humectant;
d. at least one silicone;
e. at least one surfactant;
f. at least one oil; and
g. soap noodles,
wherein talc to at least one starch w/w ratio in said formulation is in the range of 1:3.5-1:7, talc and at least one starch weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 20-25%, at least one humectant, at least one silicone, and at least one oil total weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 1.0-5.5%, soap noodles weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 65-75.5%, and at least one surfactant weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 4 -10%.
2. The formulation as claimed in claim 1, further comprises: (a) at least one polymer, (b) at least one fatty acid, and (c) combinations thereof
3. The formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-2, wherein said at least one starch is selected from the group consisting corn starch, vegetable starch, potato starch, wheat starch, rice starch, modified natural starch, and synthetic starch.
4. The formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein said at least one silicone is selected from the group consisting of dimethicone, amodimethicone, polyethylene glycol dimethicones, polyethyelene glycol amodimethicones (PEG amodimethicones), and cyclopentasiloxanes, having weight concentration in said formulation in the range of 0.1 to 2.0%; said at least one oil is selected from the group consisting of mineral oil, waxes, vegetable oils, synthetic oil, and plant oil, having weight concentration in said formulation in the range of 0.5 to 3.0 %; said at least one humectant is selected from the group consisting of glycerin, sorbitol, propylene glycol, sucrose, fructose, lactose, and sugar alcohols, having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.01 to 1.5 %; at least one surfactant is selected from the group consisting of anionic, cationic, amphoteric and non-ionic surfactants.

The formulation as claimed in claim 2, wherein said at least one polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyethylene glycol (PEG mol wt 4 lakhs to 80 lakhs), cellulose and synthetic cellulose, and acrylates, having weight concentration in said formulation in the range of 0.001 to 0.2 %; said at least one fatty acid is selected from the group consisting of C12 to C18 chain of fatty acid, having weight concentration in said formulation in the range of 0.02 to 2.0 %
6. The soap formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-5, wherein soap formulation mildness on mildness scale is in the range of 6.0-7.0.
7. The soap formulation as claimed in any of the claims 2-6, comprising:
a. soap noodles having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 65 to 75.5%;
b. alpha olefin sulphate having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 4.0 to 10%;
c. corn starch having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 18 to 22%;
d. talc having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 3.1 to 5.3%;
e. glycerin having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0 to 1.5%;
f. PEG 7 amodimethicone having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.1 to 2.0%;
g. mineral oil having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.5 to 3.0%;
h. polyethylene glycol having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.001 to 0.2%; and
i. stearic acid having weight concentration in said formulation is in the range of 0.02 to 2.0%.
8. The soap formulation as claimed in claim 5, comprising:
a. soap noodles having weight concentration of 66.68%;
b. alpha olefin sulphate (AOS) having weight concentration of 4.5%;
c. corn starch having weight concentration of 18.5%;
d. talc having weight concentration of 4.1%;
e. glycerin having weight concentration of 1%;
f. PEG 7 amodimethicone having weight concentration of 1.5%;
g. mineral oil having weight concentration of 2.5%;
h. polyethylene glycol having weight concentration of 0.12%; and
i. stearic acid having weight concentration of 0.1%.
9. A process for preparing a soap formulation as claimed in claim 1, said process comprising the steps:
a. contacting (i) soap noodles, (ii) at least one humectant (iii) at least one silicone, (iv) at least one oil; (v) at least one surfactant, (vi) at least one starch, and (vii) talc, at a temperature in the range of 22-50°C and mixing for 5-20min to obtain a mass;
b. milling said mass at a temperature in the range of 45-85°C for 15 to 40 min to obtain thin flakes;
c. extruding the flakes to obtain soap billets, and
d. cutting the billets into pre-determined sizes and stamping to obtain said soap formulation.
10. A process for preparing a soap formulation as claimed in any of the claims 2-9, said process comprising the steps:
a. contacting (i) soap noodles, (ii) at least one humectant (iii) at least one silicone, (iv) at least one oil; (v) at least one surfactant, (vi) at least one starch, (vii) talc, (viii) at least one polymer, and (ix) at least one fatty acid at a temperature in the range of 22-50°C and mixing for 5-20min to obtain a mass;
b. milling said mass at a temperature in the range of 45-85°C for 15 to 40 min to obtain thin flakes;
c. extruding the flakes to obtain soap billets, and
d. cutting the billets into pre-determined sizes and stamping to obtain said soap formulation.
11. The process as claimed in claim 10, said process comprising the steps:
a. contacting (i) soap noodles, (ii) glycerin (iii) stearic acid acid, (iv) polyethylene glycol (v) PEG 7 amodimethicone, (vi) mineral oil, (vii) AOS powder, (viii) corn starch, and (ix) talc at a temperature in the range of 22-50°C and mixing for 5-20min to obtain a mass;
b. milling at a temperature in the range of 45-85°C for 15 to 40 min said mass to obtain thin flakes;
c. extruding the flakes to obtain soap billets, and
d. cutting the billets into a pre-determined size and stamping to obtain said soap formulation.
