Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a modified braking system adopted to caterpillar dumper.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The caterpillar dumper is mainly engaged in transferring coal and over burden (Soil & Rocks) etc mainly useable in mining area. The capacity of such caterpillar dumper is 95 Tons and having a tare weight of 63 Tons So the gross weight is 158 Tons. The caterpillar dumper in loaded condition moves from a 500ft down to rise a height of 500ft in various Road condition like slippery, muddy, undulation in a Peak and Vally path throughout the year. It is experienced in the practical field that the movement of such dumper is hindered due to break down the existing braking system.
The failure of existing braking systems are analyzed and following causes were
found out:-
1) The Front brake is being used throughout the shift by the operator due to lack in understanding of standing instruction which is not at all accepted.
2) Due to engagement of front brake Caliper disc becomes hot and pad worm out and caused fire hazard.

It is expired that within 3 months 87 nos. of break-down occurs and total 94 hours lost out of 3 months due to above causes of break-down. It hampers the day to day production target achievement. The opportunity loss was counted to be about 5968 Tons clean coal which cost amount 4 crores.
To overcome the field problem the inventor emphasis on development of existing braking inbuilt mechanism of caterpillar dumper.
OUJECTS OF THE INVENTION
It is therefore, an object of the present invention to propose a modified braking system of caterpillar dumper which eliminates the disadvantages of the existing field
problem.
Another object of the present invention is to propose a modified braking system of
caterpillar dumper which increases the productive hour.
A further objection of the present invention is to propose a modified braking system of caterpillar dumper which increases more safety and reduces the number of accident on operating condition.
A still further object of present invention is to propose a modified braking system of cater pillar dumper which s more Robust in stopping the dumper.
An yet further object of the present invention is to propose a modified braking system of caterpillar dumper which confirms a driver about the application of front brake through a glow light indicator.
SUMMARYOF THE INVENTION
The present invention is provided with a modified braking system in caterpillar dumper comprises a Air tank to cater air in the braking system, a Duo treadle

valve; a service paddle, pressing of which air flows both in front brake line and a rear master cylinder to stop rear wheel; an on line front brake lever while in 'ON' condition air flows into a ratio valve; an on line ration valve; an on line adaptor disposed in between a ratio valve and a front brake relay valve; an on line front brake relay valve caters air to a front master cylinder to stop a front wheel in one way and excess air passes to a path to emit to atmosphere; Characterized in that a adaptor is provided on line such that a pressure switch lights on a front brake indicator in concurrence with the application of front master cylinder to stop front wheel of dumper.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING FIGURE
Fig.1 - Shows a photo figure of caterpillar dumper.
Fig.2 - Shows a photo figure of caterpillar dumper on working condition in mining area.
Fig.3 - Shows a flow diagram of existing in built braking mechanism of the caterpillar dumper.
Fig.4 - Shows a flow diagram of modified braking system of caterpillar dumper according to invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
As shows in Fig. 3 the existing braking system (In built) comprises one air tank (1) which caters air to one Duo Treadle valve (2). The pressing of sevice brake paddle (3) allows the air to pass a path (4), to reach a rear master cylinder (9) which allows to stop the rear brake. Air from air line (5) goes to a front brake lever (6). Which allows air to go in a ratio valve (7) and from ratio valve (7) air pass through a front brake relay valve (8) to a front brake master cylinder and a part of air passes to atmosphere.
The invented braking system shown in Fig-4. Which comprises one air tank (A) which caters air to a Duo Treadle lever (6) while pressing the sevice brake paddle (C) the air passes through an air path (D) and a part of air passes through an air path (E). The air in air path (D) goes to rear-master cylinder (F) to control rear wheel brake. The air flows in an air path (E) caters air to a front brake lever (G) which posses a ON and OFF lever (H) inside the cabin. While the front brake lever is 'ON' condition the air passes in a path (I) to cater air in a Ratio valve (J) and the air coming out for Ratio valve (J) cater air to an adaptor (K) invented by the inventor from which one part of air passes through an air path (L) to cater air to a front brake relay valve and a second part of air enters to pressure switch (Q). The pressure switch lights on a front brake indicator (R). The front brake relay valve (M) controls a two way air path (N) and a exhaust line (0) to atmosphere. The air passes through the air path (N) Caters air to a

front master cylinder (P) which controls the front wheel brake of cater pillar dumper. The installation of adaptor controls two functions at the same time, first to apply front master cylinder on the brakes of front wheel to stop dumper in concurrence with a green lighting on the front brake indicator so that a driver from the cabin may confirm that the front brake in action while the position is 'ON' of front brake lever (H).
By implementation the modified braking system, a operator improves his knowledge of application of brakes such that the dumper may not tilt over in muddy an slipping road in a loaded condition while front brakes in action.
Secondly the chance of fire hazards in a capilar disc has been eliminated.
Thirdly an light indicator (R) attached with the modified braking system helps the operator for application of front brake while Front brake lever is in 'ON' position.
Fourthly the brake-down hours reduces which saves maintenance parts and cost leads to increase in productivity.
Finally eliminates safety risks during operation.
