Abstract: The present invention pertains to a modified flexible cable 10 tailored for the remote operation of valves in the submarine. The modified flexible cable 10 incorporates a metal wire rope 20 which is located at the core of the modified flexible cable 10, providing enhanced strength, durability, and versatility.
DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION:
[001] The present invention relates to modified cables for use in remote operation of valves in submarines.
BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART:
[002] Hydraulic system in submarines is of prime importance. Cables lines are connected from the central power source throughout the submarine to carry out a large variety of services. The vent valves of the main ballast, the flood valves, the air indicator valves, the main engine exhaust valves and other valves are extremely critical for safe and efficient operation of the submarine. As such, the safe and efficient operation of these cables for the remote operation of these valves in the submarine is very critical and needs special attention.
[003] The flexible cables commercially supported by foreign vendors are made of very thin strip plates to transfer of motion and, as such, they frequently undergo breakdown. The internal parts of these original vendor supplied cables are feeble and relatively delicate.
[004] Thus, there is a need for a reliable and strong cable for remote operation of valves in submarines.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
[005] The principal object of the present invention is to provide a modified flexible cable for remote operation of valves in submarines.
[006] Another object of the present invention is to provide a modified flexible cable that is designed to be flexible, allowing it to adapt to the dynamic and confined environments within submarines without compromising its strength.
[007] One of the objects of the present invention is to provide a modified flexible cable that improves the safety of remote valve and flap operations in submarines, ensuring error-free and dependable functionality.
[008] Another object of the present invention is to provide a modified flexible cable that facilitates its use in various applications, particularly in submarines where flexibility is crucial for navigating complex and confined spaces.
[009] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a modified flexible cable that aims to overcome the shortcomings and defects associated with imported flexible cables, making the indigenously developed cable a more reliable alternative.
[010] In an aspect of the present invention, a modified flexible cable for remote valve operation in submarines comprising a metal wire rope located at a core of the modified flexible cable, the said modified flexible cable is configured to provide increased strength and flexibility.
[011] In an aspect of the present invention, the metal wire rope is made of steel material.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS:
[012] The invention has other advantages and features which will be more readily apparent from the following detailed description of the invention and the appended claims, when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 illustrates the conventional flexible cables, wherein the damaged strips inside these flexible cables are shown.
Figure 2 illustrates the modified flexible cable.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
[013] The invention is described herein in detail with the help of figures appended at the end of the specification. The figures illustrate the preferred embodiment as well as other embodiments that define the scope of the present invention. However, it may be understood that the figures presented herein are intended to exemplify the scope of the invention only. The person skilled in art may note that by no means the figures limit the scope of the invention. Any variation in the drawings by any other person will be falling in the scope of the present invention.
[014] Throughout the specification and claims, the following terms take the meanings explicitly associated herein unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. The meaning of "a", "an", and "the" include plural references. The meaning of "in" includes "in" and "on." Referring to the drawings, like numbers indicate like parts throughout the views. Additionally, a reference to the singular includes a reference to the plural unless otherwise stated or inconsistent with the disclosure herein.
[015] The present invention discloses a modified flexible cable designed to provide a reliable solution for remote valve and flap operations in submarines.
[016] Figure 1 depicts a conventional or existing flexible cable 50 with the presence of damaged strips 50A within the cable 50. The damaged strips 50A, as illustrated, highlight common issues and weaknesses associated with conventional flexible cables currently in use.
[017] As illustrated in Figure 2, the modified flexible cable 10 comprises a metal wire rope at the core of the cable 10, representing a fundamental innovation to enhance strength and durability.
[018] In a preferred embodiment, the metal wire rope 20 is made of steel material.
[019] In an embodiment of the present invention, the modified flexible cable 10 having a steel wire rope 20 that is rugged, reliable, and free from the defects of the imported flexible cables. The remote operations of valves and flaps, which require error-free operation are performed effectively, safely, and dependably by this indigenously developed cable with a strong steel wire rope cover. These are robust and long-lasting.
[020] In an embodiment of the present invention, the modified flexible cable 10 of the present invention is mainly applicable for remote operation of valves and flaps in submarines. However, the applications are not limited to submarines and may be extended to other areas where the valves and flaps are required to be operated remotely.
[021] Although a particular exemplary embodiment of the invention has been disclosed in detail for illustrative purposes, it will be recognized by those skilled in the art that variations or modifications of the disclosed invention, including the rearrangement in the configurations of the parts, changes in steps and their sequences may be possible. Accordingly, the invention is intended to embrace all such alternatives, modifications, and variations as may fall within the spirit and scope of the present invention.
[022] The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching.
ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION:
[023] The present invention provides a modified flexible cable that is designed to provide effective and safe remote operation of valves and flaps, ensuring error-free performance.
[024] The present invention provides a modified flexible cable that ensures a longer lifespan and reduces the likelihood of failures, providing a reliable solution for remote valve and flap operations.
[025] The present invention provides a modified flexible cable that allows it to navigate through confined spaces and complex environments, making it versatile for use not only in submarines but also in various other applications where remote operation of valves and flaps is required.
