The present disclosure relates to the field of cleaning devices. In particular, the present disclosure relates to the field of brooms.
BACKGROUND
Conventional grass brooms are devices which include a plurality of grass stems tied together, such that flexible strands extending from the plurality of grass stems form the broom head. The tied grass stems are typically covered via a cylindrical plastic handle. These conventional brooms suffer from the drawback that the service life is very limited. Typically, within three or four months of usage, the flexible strands start shedding from the broom head, thereby impacting the optimal usability of the broom. In such a case, the entire broom needs to be replaced. This causes a lot of undesired wastage of plastic, as the handles of the broom are typically made of plastic. Also, the long size of the broom does not allow the broom to be carried optimally in a typical carry-bag, as the broom tends to stick out of the carry bag. As such, the user is forced to carry the broom separately, external to the carry bag.
There, is therefore a need of a broom that overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks associated with the conventional grass brooms.
OBJECTS
Some of the objects of the present disclosure, which at least one embodiment herein satisfies, are as follows:
An object of the present disclosure is to provide a broom that has a modular configuration.
Another object of the present disclosure is to provide a broom that is economical.
Yet another object of the present disclosure is to provide a broom that is convenient to carry.
Other objects and advantages of the present disclosure will be more apparent from the following description, which is not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure.
SUMMARY
The present disclosure envisages a modular broom assembly. The modular broom assembly comprises a broom head, and a handle configured to receive and removably connect with the broom head. The broom head comprises a connector, at least one broom strip wound on and connected to the connector. In an embodiment, the at least one broom strip is stapled to the connector, thereby forming the broom head.
In an embodiment, the connector includes at least one fitment means to removably connect with complementary fitment means configured within the handle. The at least one fitment means includes snap protrusions or thread formations.
In another embodiment, the broom strip comprises a base strip, and a plurality of strands extending from the base strip.
In another embodiment, the handle has a telescopic configuration, wherein the telescopic configuration is defined by at least two modular assemblable handle sections.
The present disclosure also envisages a broom pack comprising a containing media. At least one broom head is disposed within the containing media. At least one handle is configured to be fitted with the at least one broom head to form a broom, wherein the at least broom head and the at least one handle are disposed within the containing media in a disassembled configuration.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING
A broom pack with a modular broom assembly, of the present disclosure, will now be described with the help of the accompanying drawing, in which:
Fig. 1A and Fig. 1B illustrate schematic views of the broom pack, in accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure;
Fig. 2 illustrates a schematic view of the modular broom assembly, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure;
Fig. 3 illustrates a schematic view of a broom strip, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure; and
Fig. 4 illustrates a schematic view of the assembled modular broom, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The conventional grass brooms are a highly used product in most of the Asian countries. The conventional broom includes a plurality of grass stems which are tied together. The grass stems have flexible strands extending therefrom, which form a broom head and are used for sweeping the required surfaces. These conventional grass brooms have a typical service life of three to four months, after which the flexible strands start to fall off. In such a case, the entire broom has to be replaced. This involves discarding the existing broom, which typically includes a plastic handle. This causes unwanted and undesired plastic wastage. Also, these conventional brooms are long in length, which causes carrying the brooms in the typical carry bags very difficult, as the broom sticks out of the carry bag and is constantly exposed to the risk of falling out of the carry bag.
In order to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks, the present disclosure envisages a modular broom assembly. The modular nature of the broom assembly allows the user to replace the broom head with a new one, while retaining the existing handle. This prevents the excessive plastic wastage. Also, the modular nature of the broom allows the broom to be carried in a disassembled configuration, thereby shortening the length of the broom pack enough to be carried within a conventional carry bag.
Fig. 1A and Fig. 1B illustrate schematic views of a broom pack 100. The pack 100 comprises a containing media 102 for containing the broom components. In an embodiment, the containing media 102 is a bag made of a polymeric material. In another embodiment, the containing media 102 is a box made of a polymeric material. The material for the containing media 102 is not restricted to a polymeric material and can be any material including metallic and nonmetallic materials.
The pack 100 further comprises at least one broom head 104 that is disposed within the containing media 102. At least one handle 106, that is configured to be fitted with the broom head 104 to form a broom, is also contained within the containing media 102. The broom head 104 and the handle 106 are disposed within the containing media 102 in a disassembled configuration. In an embodiment, as seen in Fig. 1A, the broom head 104 and the handle 106 are disposed in an operative vertical manner within the containing media 102. In an embodiment, as seen in Fig. 1B, the broom head 104 and the handle 106 are disposed in an operative horizontal manner within the containing media 102. The containing media 102 also has a handle 102A that allows a user to continently carry the containing media 102.
The present disclosure also envisages a modular broom assembly 200. Fig. 2 illustrates a schematic view of the modular broom assembly 200. The assembly 200 comprises a broom head 204, and a handle 206 configured to securely receive and connect with the broom head 204. In an embodiment, the broom head 204 comprises a connector 204A (refer fig. 4), and at least one broom strip 204B wound on and connected to the connector 204A. The at least one broom strip 204B is stapled to the connector 204A, thereby forming the broom head 204. In an embodiment, the connector 204A includes at least one fitment means to removably connect with complementary fitment means configured within the handle. The at least one fitment means includes snap protrusions or thread formations.
In an embodiment, as seen in Fig. 3, the broom strip 204B comprises a base strip 208, and a plurality of strands 210 extending from the base strip 208. The base strip 208 and the plurality of strands 210 are of a polymeric material.
In another embodiment, the handle 206 has a telescopic configuration, wherein the telescopic configuration is defined by at least two modular assemblable handle sections 206A, 206B.
Fig. 4 illustrates a schematic view of the assembled modular broom 300, assembled using the components of the assembly 200. As seen in Fig. 3, the broom 300 comprises the handle 206 having the connector 204A fitted within the handle 206. On the connector 204A is wound the broom strip 204B, thereby forming the broom head 204.
The pack 100, as disclosed in the present disclosure, is easy to carry as it is used to carry the broom assembly 200 in a disassembled configuration. Furthermore, the modular nature of broom 300 allows the replacement of the broom head 204 while retaining the existing handle 206. This prevents the undesired wastage of plastic.
