FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a modular safety device for disconnection of electrical supply in distribution boards. More particularly, the invention is concerned about providing safety to a human personnel during maintenance of Distribution Board. This is achieved by a unique mechanism provided in the device which helps in disconnecting supply when shield gets opened. The equipments/processes/field of technology/industry in which the present invention is used is the distribution boards and electric supply panel.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION AND PRIOR ART
The safety and practicality are always two major characteristics to be researched for the electrical power distribution panels, boards and/or switches and power distribution supplies however, the current and conventional distribution boards/panels still cannot meet the requirements of said two characteristics. Since the power wires are directly connected to the switch or the outlet, the circuit breaker needs always to be in OPEN state when maintenance is in progress. Sometime, it has been found that negligence of the maintenance personnel has proved to be very fatal and has amount to loss of lives. Therefore, it is inconvenient to carry maintenance or repair work or removing or replacing the distribution panels or any part thereof, especially to the general family which knows little about electric engineering.
Till date the inventors have not found any mechanism in the prior art which could be used in the cover/doors of a distribution board or panel and act as a safety mechanism during commencement of a maintenance work.
In view of the above, it has been found by the present inventors that there still exists a need and space for providing with a safety mechanism in the covers/doors of a distribution board. It has been found that a unique mechanism provides tripping off the circuit breaker thus breaking the power supply with the opening of the cover/shield of a distribution board or panel. Further a detachable supply indicator is also integrated with the safety device which indicates the R, Y & B phases of 3 phase electrical supply.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
The fig 1 a} & fig 1 b) above shows the inside view of the device when cover is removed & exploded view of it respectively. The device is mainly divided into two parts.
1.Tripping Mechanism
2.Detachable electrical supply indicator
Tripping Mechanism :
The Tripping Mechanism is made up of following components as shown in fig
1.Push-pull link (1)
2.Pivoted connecting link (2)
3.Mechanism Slider (3)
4.Compression spring (4)
5.Spring Rest (5) 6.Pivot (6)
7. Horizontal protrusion (7)
8. Slant protrusion (8)
9. Pin joints (9, 10)
The above metioned components are shown in fig below
Tripper is having the tripping of the tripper and the aurum is having the tripping of the aurum.
Function of
1) Pivoted Connecting Link (2) :
As the name suggests it is pivoted as shown in above fig. A pin joint (9) is created with One end of the connecting link (2) and one of the ends of mechanism slider (3). The second pin joint (10) is created with other' end of the connecting link (2) and push-pull link (1) as shown in fig. The Connecting Link (2) rotates about pivot (6).
2)Spring Rest (5} :
It is a component on which one of the ends of the compression spring (4) is fixed.
The Push-pull link (1) whose two ends comes out of the device (When shield is opened) goes inside the device when shield of the Distribution Board is mounted. The push-pull link is substantially U shaped. At the same time the compression spring (4) mounted on spring rest (5) gets compressed. When a
technician or personnel tries to open the shield for maintenance work, the energy stored in the compressed spring (4) is released. Now this released spring energy is used to trip the devices which are coupled to the main device. Due to this released spring energy the connecting link pivoted at centre rotates in clockwise direction. As the connecting link (2) rotates in counter clockwise direction the slider (3) connected to a connecting link (2) through pin (9) moves linearly in downward direction. Thus the tripping of any of the two (Tripper & Aurum) devices is achieved.
As shown in fig 2 c) above the upper Horizontal protrusion (7) of Mechanism slider (3) is used for tripping of Aurum MCB & middle slant protrusion (8) is used for tripping of Tripper MCB.
As the name suggests Detachable electrical supply indicator is used for the indication purpose of 3 phase electrical supply. This indicator is integrated with the main device. A snap fit arrangement is provided for the easy mounting & removal of the indicator. In case of malfunctioning of LED's, the device can be easily removed & can be mounted back with new LED's. The required supply for the LED can be given through connecting leads.
