Abstract: The present disclosure describes a moisturizing formulation comprising: silicones comprising cyclopentasiloxane (and) dimethicone crosspolymer, and dimethicone; sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone; and at least one humectant, wherein the silicones to the at least one humectant weight ratio in the formulation is in the range of 1:0.66-1:1.5. Also disclosed are the processes for preparation of the moisturizing composition.
Claims:1. A skin moisturizing formulation comprising:
a) silicones comprising cyclopentasiloxane (and) dimethicone crosspolymer, and dimethicone;
b) sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone; and
c) at least one humectant,
wherein the silicones to the at least one humectant weight ratio in the formulation is in the range of 1:0.66-1:1.5.
2. The moisturizing formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the silicones to sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone weight ratio in the formulation is in the range of 1:0.8-1:2.4.
3. The moisturizing formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone to the at least one humectant weight ratio is in the range of 1:0.4-1:1.25.
4. The moisturizing formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the silicones comprising cyclopentasiloxane (and) dimethicone crosspolymer, and dimethicone has a weight percentage in the range of 3.2-4.8% with respect to the formulation.
5. The moisturizing formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone has a weight percentage in the range of 2-4% with respect to the formulation.
6. The moisturizing formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one humectant has a weight percentage in the range of 3.2-4.8% with respect to the formulation.
7. The moisturizing formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-6, wherein the at least one humectant is selected from the group consisting of glycerine, propylene glycol, sorbitol, hexanetriol, polyethylene glycol, hexylene glycol, D-panthenol, and combinations thereof.
8. The moisturizing formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-7 further comprising at least one excipient selected from the group consisting of at least one emollient, at least one preservative, at least one antioxidant, and combinations thereof.
9. The moisturizing formulation as claimed in claim 8, wherein the at least one emollient has a weight percentage in the range of 5-20%, with respect to the formulation, and the emollient is allantoin; the at least one preservative has a weight percentage in the range of 0.3-1.2% with respect to the formulation, and the preservative is selected from the group consisting of phenoxyethanol, methylisothiazolinone (and) methylparaben (and) propylparaben (and) phenoxyethanol, disodium EDTA, and combinations thereof; the at least one antioxidant has a weight percentage in the range of 0.4-0.95% with respect to the formulation, and the antioxidant is selected form the group consisting of tocopheryl acetate, niacinamide, benzophenone-4, and combinations thereof.
10. A process for preparation of moisturizing formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-7, said process comprising the steps of: (a) obtaining silicones comprising cyclopentasiloxane (and) dimethicone crosspolymer, and dimethicone 200/350; (b) obtaining sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone; (c) obtaining at least one humectant; and (d) contacting the silicones, sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone, and the at least one humectant to obtain the formulation.
11. A process for preparation of moisturizing formulation as claimed in any of the claims 1-9, said process comprising the steps of: (a) obtaining silicones comprising cyclopentasiloxane (and) dimethicone crosspolymer, and dimethicone 200/350; (b) obtaining sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone; (c) obtaining at least one humectant; (d) obtaining at least one emollient; (e) obtaining the at least one preservative; (f) obtaining at least one antioxidant; and (g) contacting the silicones, sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone, the at least one humectant, the at least one emollient, the at least one preservative, the at least one antioxidant, to obtain the formulation.
12. The process for preparation of moisturizing formulation as claimed in claim 11, said process comprising the steps of: (a) obtaining silicones comprising cyclopentasiloxane (and) dimethicone crosspolymer, and dimethicone 200/350; (b) obtaining sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone; (c) obtaining at least one humectant; (d) obtaining at least one emollient; (e) obtaining the at least one preservative; (f) obtaining at least one antioxidant; (g) contacting the silicones comprising cyclopentasiloxane (and) dimethicone crosspolymer, and dimethicone 200/350 to at least one preservative to obtain pre-mix I; (h) contacting the at least one humectant to the at least one emollient to obtain pre-mix II; (i) contacting the at least one silicone, sodium polyacrylate (and) dimethicone (and) cyclopentasiloxane (and) trideceth-6 (and) PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone, and the at least one antioxidant to obtain pre-mix III; (j) contacting the pre-mix I, the pre-mix II, and the pre-mix III with the at least one antioxidant to obtain pre-mix-IV; (k) contacting the at least one preservative to the pre-mix IV; (l) contacting the at least one antioxidant to product of step (k); and (m) stirring at low speeds for a time in the range of 20-30 minutes to obtain the formulation.
13. The moisturizing formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the formulation has a pH in the range of 4-6.5.
14. The moisturizing formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein the formulation has a viscosity in the range of 15000cp to 23000cp
