FIELD OF INVENTION
[001] This invention is related to multifunctional structure particularly for door trim grip handle of vehicle.
10
BACKGROUND/PRIOR ART
[002] Front and rear doors of vehicle are usually provided with pull case or handle for opening and closing the same. The handle includes base and cover. Now, reference may be made to fig. 1 reflecting 15 exploded view of the conventional arrangement for said handle. Fig.1 indicates the following features:-
Cover, grip handle-1
Base, grip handle-2 20
Upper Bracket for base, grip handle-3
Lower Bracket for base, grip handle -4
Screw for fastening lower bracket (4) to base, grip handle-5
Screw for fastening upper bracket (3) with base, grip handle-6
Board, door trim to be mounted on door panel-7 25
3
[003] Further, reference may be made to fig. 4 regarding sectional view of fig. 1. In this, there is assembly of bezel, front door trim (B’) 5 with the base, grip handle (1’) with Screw (W). Further, reference may be made to fig. 2 of said handle in which said base, grip handle is fastened to lower bracket of door trim (4) with the help of screw (6). Said currently available cover, grip handle’s lower edge maintains a gap with board, door trim. 10
[004] The aforesaid provision is associated with the following issues:
- Visibility of gap degrades aesthetics of vehicle interior
- High chances of disassembly of base of handle from main 15 assembly by getting pulled out during transportation/handling at assembly line, before assembly to door panel.
[005] This is due to single positive mounting at lower end of Grip 20 handle with Switch Bezeland and non-availability of positive mounting between Grip handle and Board due to packaging constraint.
[006] The current circumstances give rise the necessity to devise a 25 means in order to provide an effective solution to the current problems. Hence, the present invention proposes multifunctional structure particularly for door trim grip handle of vehicle.

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
[0013] The present invention pertains to a technology directing to multifunctional structure particularly for door trim grip handle of 5 vehicle without restricting scope of the invention to the same.
[0014] The following description will explain in detail only the structure for door trim grip handle of vehicle or more specifically and precisely only the provision of multifunctional structure on the 10 handle of vehicle.
[0015] The multifunctional structure comprising of a locator integrated to lower side of base, grip handle with a snap placed on cover of grip handle in which the snap is snap fitted into slot of/in 15 proximity to a locator without further illustration of constructional details of the vehicle door. The inventive concept of invention is in fact applicable to any side of the vehicle i.e. front as well as rear side door. Further, it includes both left hand side and right hand side door. 20
[0016] Now, reference may be made to fig. 3 indicating inventive features of present disclosure.
[0017] In accordance with this embodiment of invention, base, grip 25 handle (1') is integrated to a locator (2') and cover, grip handle (3') is integral to a snap (4').
7
[0018] The locator (2') is having substantially a L-section as best seen in the figure 3. The locator is provided with a fillet at the curvature 5 thereof so as to avoid development of stress at the bending.
[0019] In conjunction with the above, a plurality of ribs are placed on the inner surface of the locator facing the cover.
10
[0020] In the exemplary embodiment, a rib (R1) of rectangular cross section is provided between two end ribs (R2) having L-section without restricting ambit of the invention to the particular cross section. Reference may be made to fig. 3A regarding positioning of rib (R2) on the locator (2'). 15
[0021] In addition to the above, there is provision of multitude of ribs (R) on the snap (4') as illustrated, wherein the ribs are having substantially wedge section in this particular exemplary embodiment without limiting ambit of the invention to the same. Referring to fig. 20 3B in respect of placement of rib (R) on said snap (4').
[0022] The number of ribs is as per requirement, which varies from variant to variant of vehicle. Further, shape of the ribs is according to available space for accommodating the same. 25
8
[0023] The aforediscussed ribs constitute strengthening ribs to reinforce the locator as well as the snap. The provision of the ribs 5 helps to pull the handle down so as to minimize the gap between said handle and door trim which in turn maintains aesthetic value of the door trim of vehicle unlike known art.
[0024] Referring to fig. 4 a slot (S) in the locator helps in fastening the 10 snap to locator in the course of assembly. Further, fig. 4 shows the features listed hereinunder:-
Base of handle-1'
Locator on base-2' 15
Cover of handle -3'
Snap on cover-4'
Bezel of door trim-B'
Screw for connecting bezel of door trim with base of handle-W
20
[0025] According to another embodiment of invention, the slot can be provided above locator of base instead of slot in the locator itself together with a snap integrated to the cover of handle.
[0026] The profile of the slot is corresponding to that of the protruded 25 part of said snap (4') in order to accommodate the protruded part while snap fitting.
9
[0027] Thus, the locator is added to the base, grip handle for holding grip handle system with door trim while handling door trim prior to assembly with door comp at assembly line. 5
[0028] The handle with structure of invention can be made of any polymer of plastic by injection molding. However, other materials and methods readily apparent to a person skilled in the art are 10 understood to be within scope of the invention.
[0029] In the description, door trim grip handle of vehicle has been adopted for demonstration of multifunctional structure of proposed application to bring clarity in understanding of the invention by the 15 reader.
[0030] However, this does not limit the purview of the invention to mere handle in any way. Therefore, its application can be extended to other parts of vehicle/ even other technical fields. 20
Advantageous Features
[0031] - Minimizes gap between handle and door trim.
- Maintenance of door trim aesthetics. 25
- Rigid mounting of base, grip handle on door trim of vehicle.
- Simple in design.
10
