The following specification describes the nature of this invention & the manner in which it is performed:
TITLE
A Multiport valve for cleaning filter, and method of cleaning filters,
FIELD OF THE INVENTION:-
The present invention relates to a multiport valve for cleaning the filter more particularly cleaning the filter automatically,
BACK GROUND AND PRIOR ART :-
The present invention relates generally to filter cleaning system, and more particularly provides unique automatic cyclic filter back flushing system in which the system can not be disturbed while maintaining the water flow rate the filtration could be possible without distrubane of the filtration i. e. and outlet, by using multi port valve control portion thereof is automatically reset in a substantially in improved manner.
Where as in the conventional method of filter cleaning today are such that, raw water enters through inlet port and then gets filters through the media and comes out to the outlet port i.e. there is a facility for water to come inside the filtration media through one port and the other port is for filters water. In course of usage, filter gets clogged and needs to be cleaned, one way of cleaning is physically removing out the cartridge and cleaning, other and throwing out dirty water from inlet line.
The said invention multiport valve cleans the filter without physically taking it out or without reversing water manually from outside.
2
The multiport valve facilitates water in one direction during the filtering operation and also drives water in reverse direction internally for cleaning and throws water through a third port namely, the drain port. All these operations are done
conveniently with a twist of knob.
Also in another position called bypass mode the filter can be opened and cleaned without disturbing the flow of water giving untreated water,
The said valve finds application for filtration, softening (wherein softening recharging and bypass nodes would be used) and other water conditioning application.
USPT No. 698331, which describes about the method of operating a filter in a fluid decompostion system, the filter including a first chamber having a first inlet port in communication with a source of a fluid to be filtered and a first outlet port in communication with drain, and a second chamber having at least one filter port and a filter element disposed between the first chamber and the second chamber.
WO 2005010415 which describes, about multi port valve has a 3 connections and valve housing. A valve member can be twisted relative to the valve housing; the rotational position of the valve is indicated. Portion of the valve member, which is located outside the valve housing or the handle that is arranged thereupon is provided with at least one mark by means of which the rotational position of valve member is indicated.
Where as in the present invention a knob is provided which can be rotated to select a particular cycle of operation.
3
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION :-
The primary object of the present invention is that. A filter can be cleaned without changing the tubings outlet direction,
Further most important object of the present invention is that. Taking out the Alteration media and using a bypass mode also can service a filter,
Further very important object of the present invention is that its very user friendly and convenient operations,
Very important object of the present invention is that the service back wash operations in Alteration unit with just a twist of a knob,
This multiport valve finds application for filtration, softening and other water conditioning application,

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to multiport valve for cleaning filter and method of cleaning without physically taking it out comprising a main body having 6 fixed porting arranged vertically in the main body, named as porting p(l), q, r, s (3), t, u, in which port p acts as an inlet and exactly opposite to the port s(3) is an out of all ports port U (2) is fixed for drain and port q, r and t are blocked, as shown in the given figure 1.
In the further embodiment of the present invention is that the plunger (5) having six movable porting arranged vertically named as porting, a which opens towards outside of the filter cartridge, and porting b and d which are opens inside the cartridge end port c and fare inter connected, a knob (4) as shown in fig. l which is situated on the stem f the plunger.
Further as to working of the invention is comprising three steps, SERVICE CYCLE:-
A service cycle is the cycle where water to be filled is passed through filtration media and a filtered wate comes out. In the service cylce, knob is in straight position, water will come inside through p porting, travel inside the plunger comes out from porting a and then it pass through a process media, comes up through d porting, moves upwards and comes as out let through s port here drain porting is closed.
5
BACK WASH CYCLE :-
In the back wash cycle, the flow is reversed so that water will pass through the media and comes out through drain,
A knob of multiport valve if turned anticlockwise, water will enter from inlet port and
pass through P and b port, travels though the media, washes the media and dirty comes out through, a and u port to drain.
BY PASS CYCLE:-
If the knob of multiport valve is turned clockwise, water will enter through inlet, p porting and passes from out side the media through f, c, s, and then to out let (without passing through process media)
In the mode the filter can be opened and cleaned without disturbing the flow of water giving untreated water.
ADVANTAGES
A filter can be cleaned without changing the tubings outlet inlet direction,
A filter also can be serviced by taking out the Alteration media and using a bypass mode,
User friendly and convenient operations,
Service back wash operations in Alteration unit with just a twist of a knob,
This miltiport valve finds application for filtration, softening and other water
conditioning application,
