Abstract: This invention relates to a novel shifter rail arrangement and interlocking system for tractor gear box comprising of a combination of a plurality of shifter rails positioned horizontally and angularly and connected to each other by means of interlocking pins. It is associated with the following advantageous features: - - Compact design, hence less space required, - Less connector height, hence less gap between connectors. It reduces the chances of lever coming out of connectors, - Easy to assemble, - Easy to manufacture connectors and - Positive interlocking in case of more no. of speeds.
FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a novel shifter rail arrangement and interlocking
system for tractor gear box.
BACKGROUND/PRIOR ART OF THE INVENTION
Currently in the Tractor gearbox, rails are provided in a line either in horizontal
or vertical direction (viewing from back of tractor) as shown in fig. 1 & 2. Fig. 1
shows shifter rails (1), interlocking pins (2) and connector (3). Fig. 2 shows
Interlocking pins (1A), Connectors (2A) and Shifter rails (3A).
However, the conventional arrangement requires more space. Further, height of
the connectors is also more, which can result in problem of lever coming out of
connectors.
Hence, it is required to develop a new arrangement for rails and interlocking
system for rails of Tractor gear box, which can address the aforesaid
drawbacks of the known art.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention IS to provide a novel shifter rail
arrangement and interlocking system for tractor gear box which obviates
disadvantage(s) associated with the prior art.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a novel shifter rail
arrangement and interlocking system for tractor gear box which is compact.
Further object of the present invention is to provide a novel shifter rail
arrangement and interlocking system for tractor gear box in which height of
connectors is less.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a novel shifter rail
arrangement and interlocking system for tractor gear box which is efficient and
reliable.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided a novel shifter rail arrangement
and interlocking system for tractor gear box comprising of a combination of a
plurality of shifter rails positioned horizontally and angularly and connected to
each other by means of interlocking pins.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from
the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings and wherein:
Fig. 1 shows: conventional interlocking system and shifter rail arrangement
wherein rails are horizontally inline.
Fig. 2 shows: conventional interlocking system and shifter rail arrangement
wherein rails are vertically inline.
Fig. 3 shows: shifter rail arrangement of present invention.
Fig. 4 shows: interlocking system of present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE
ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
This invention discloses a novel shifter rail arrangement and interlocking
system for tractor gear box. Now, reference may be made to fig. 3 and 4
indicating shifter rail arrangement and interlocking system according to the
present invention. The invention comprising of a combination of a plurality of
rails in different position. Said combination comprising of a plurality of
horizontally inline rails (H) and rails positioned angularly (A). The rails are
connected to each other by means of interlocking pin (I), which constitute
interlocking system as shown in figure 4. According to the position of said
shifter rails, interlocking pins are located in horizontal and angular position.
Now, referring to fig. 3 iri which each shifter rail is provided with a connector
(C). As can be observed from the figure, the height of said connector is lesser
than the conventional connector in the shifter rail arrangement as shown in fig.
1 and 2.
The above discussed shifter rail arrangement and interlocking system is
particularly used in gear box of tractor. It functions more efficiently as
compared to the prior art.
Advantageous Features:-
1. Compact design, hence less space required.
2. Less connector height, hence less gap between connectors. It reduces the
chances of lever coming out of connectors.
3. Easy to assemble.
4. Easy to manufacture connectors.
5. Positive interlocking in case of more no. of speeds.
-5-
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications,
adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments
employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within
the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the
following claims:
WE CLAIM:
1. A novel shifter rail arrangement and interlocking system for tractor gear
box comprising of a combination of a plurality of shifter rails positioned
horizontally and angularly and connected to each other by means of
interlocking pins.
2. A novel shifter rail arrangement and interlocking system as claimed in
claim 1, wherein the interlocking pins are located in horizontal and
angular position according to the position of said shifter rails.
3. A novel shifter rail arrangement and interlocking system as claimed in
claim 1 or 2, wherein each shifter rail is provided with a connector,
height of which is lesser than the conventional connector.
4. A novel shifter rail arrangement and interlocking system as claimed in
any of the preceding claims, is associated with the advantageous features
such as herein described.
5. A novel shifter rail arrangement and interlocking system for tractor gear
box substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying
drawings.
