A Non Oily And Non Sticky Skin Care Formulation

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a skin care formulation which is non-oily and non-sticky. The formulation is comprises a) a mixture (A) comprising: (i) aluminium starch octenylsuccinate; (ii) white petroleum jelly; and (iii) glycol distearate; b) a mixture (B) comprising: (i) C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer; (ii) carbopol; (iii) steareth 21; and (iv) steareth 2, wherein mixture (A) to mixture (B) weight ratio is in the range of 1:1.5-1:2.0. The present disclosure also describes a process for preparing said skin care formulation

Specification

Claims:1. A skin care formulation comprising:
a) a mixture (A) comprising:
i) aluminium starch octenylsuccinate;
ii) white petroleum jelly; and
iii) glycol distearate;
b) a mixture (B) comprising:
i) C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer;
ii) carbopol;
iii) steareth 21; and
iv) steareth 2,
wherein mixture (A) to mixture (B) weight ratio is in the range of 1:1.5-1:2.0.
2. The skin care formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein glycol distearate to white petroleum jelly weight ratio in mixture (A) is 1:1.
3. The skin care formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer to carbopol weight ratio in mixture (B) is 1:2.6.
4. The skin care formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein aluminium starch octenylsuccinate to white petroleum jelly weight ratio in mixture (A) is 1:2.
5. The skin care formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein aluminium starch octenylsuccinate to glycol distearate weight ratio in mixture (A) is 1:2.
6. The skin care formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein steareth 2 to steareth 21 weight ratio in mixture (B) is 1:2.
7. The skin care formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein carbopol to steareth 21 weight ratio in mixture (B) is 1:7.
8. The skin care formulation as claimed in claim 1, wherein C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer to steareth 21 weight ratio in mixture (B) is 1:19.
9. The skin care formulation as claimed in claim 1, further comprising water.
10. The skin care formulation as claimed in claim 1, further comprising at least one cosmetically acceptable excipient selected from the group consisting of anti-oxidants, preservatives, chelating agents, humectants, emollients, moisturizers, emulsifiers, co-emulsifiers, neutralizing agents, skin-conditioning agents, fairness actives, and fragrances.
11. A skin care formulation comprising:
a) aluminium starch octenylsuccinate having weight percentage of 0.25% in the formulation;
b) white petroleum jelly having weight percentage of 0.5% in the formulation;
c) glycol distearate having weight percentage of 0.5% in the formulation;
d) C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer having weight percentage of 0.075% in the formulation;
e) carbopol having weight percentage of 0.20% in the formulation;
f) steareth 21 having weight percentage of 1.40% in the formulation;
g) steareth 2 having weight percentage of 0.70% in the formulation;
12. A process for preparing a skin care formulation as claimed in claim 1, comprising the steps of:
(a) contacting C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, carbopol with water and stirring it to obtain a dispersion;
(b) contacting steareth 21 with the dispersion from step (a) and stirring it well to obtain the water phase;
(c) contacting steareth 2 with white petroleum jelly to obtain an oil phase;
(d) contacting the oil phase with the water phase with simultaneous homogenization to obtain a mixture; and
(e) contacting aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, and water with mixture from step (d) to obtain a skin care formulation.
13. The process as claimed in claim 12, wherein step (a) further comprises contacting at least one chelating agent, at least one humectant, at least one preservative, and at least moisturizer.
14. The process as claimed in claim 12, wherein step (c) further comprises contacting at least one co-emulsifier, at least one emollient, at least one emulsifier, at least another preservative, at least one sunscreen agent, and at least one skin-conditioning agent.
15. The process as claimed in claim 12, wherein step (e) further comprises contacting at least one neutralizing agent, at least one antioxidant, at least one more preservative, at least another humectant, at least one fairness active and fragrance
16. The process for preparing a skin care formulation as claimed in claim 12, wherein (i) dispersion from step (a) was obtained by heating at a temperature in the range of 70-80 °C; (ii) step (b) was carried out at a temperature in the range of 55-65 °C; (iii) oil phase was obtained by heating at a temperature in the range of 70-80 °C; (iv) step (d) was carried out at a temperature in the range of 70-80 °C; and (v) step (e) was carried out at a temperature in the range of 35-65 °C.
