Abstract: The present disclosure provides a cosmetic skin lotion composition with favourable consumer attributes while being non-oily and non-sticky. The composition with desired characteristics is achieved by a unique blend of emulsifying agents, and polymers at a particular weight ratio.

Specification

Claims:1. A cosmetic topical composition comprising:

a. emulsifying agents consisting of cetostearyl alcohol, sodium cetearyl sulfate, and glyceryl stearate, wherein cetostearyl alcohol weight
5 concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.1-7%, sodium cetearyl sulfate weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.05-5%, and glyceryl stearate weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.1-5%; and
b. polymers consisting of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, and ammonium

10 acrylodimethyltaurate/VP copolymer, wherein sodium carboxymethyl cellulose weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.01-
5%, and ammonium acrylodimethyltaurate/VP copolymer weight concentration in said composition is in the range of 0.05-3%.
2. The cosmetic topical composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein cetostearyl alcohol

15 weight concentration in said composition is 2%, sodium cetearyl sulfate weight concentration in said composition is 0.5%, and glyceryl stearate weight concentration in said composition is 5%.
3. The cosmetic topical composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein sodium carboxymethyl cellulose weight concentration in said composition is 0.25%, and
20 ammonium acrylodimethyltaurate/VP copolymer weight concentration in said composition is 0.5%.
4. The cosmetic topical composition as claimed in claim 1, further comprising: (a) at least one emollient; (b) at least one humectant; (c) at least one emulsifier; (d) at least one skin conditioner; (e) at least one polymer; (f) at least one chelating agent; and (g) water.
25 5. The cosmetic topical composition as claimed in claim 4, comprising:

a. mineral oil having weight concentration in the range of 5-15%;

b. glycerin having weight concentration in the range of 1-6%;

c. disodium EDTA having weight concentration in the range of 0.01-1%;

d. cetostearyl alcohol having weight concentration in the range of 0.1-7%;

e. sodium cetaearyl sulfate having weight concentration in the range of 0.05-

5%;

f. glyceryl stearate having weight concentration in the range of 0.1-5%;

5 g. paraffin having weight concentration in the range of 0.3-3%;

h. dimethicone having weight concentration in the range of 0.1-7%;

i. microcrystalline wax having weight concentration in the range of 0.1-3%;

j. ammonium acryloyldmethyltaurate/VP copolymer having weight concentration in the range of 0.05-3%;
10 k. sodium carboxymethyl cellulose having weight concentration in the range of 0.01-5%; and
l. water to make up to 100%.

6. The cosmetic topical composition as claimed in claim 5, comprising:

a. mineral oil having weight concentration of 11%;

15 b. glycerin having weight concentration of 3%;

c. disodium EDTA having weight concentration of 0.05%;

d. cetostearyl alcohol having weight concentration of 2%;

e. sodium cetostearyl sulfate having weight concentration of 0.5%;

f. glyceryl stearate having weight concentration of 5%;

20 g. paraffin having weight concentration of 1%;

h. dimethicone having weight concentration of 3%;

i. microcrystalline wax having weight concentration of 0.5%;

j. ammonium acryloyldmethyltaurate/VP copolymer having weight concentration of 0.5%;
25 k. sodium carboxymethyl cellulose having weight concentration of 0.25%; and

l. water to make up to 100%.

7. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in claim 4, said method comprising:

a. contacting at least one humectant, and at least one polymer to obtain a homogenous mixture I (water phase);
b. contacting water at a temperature in the range of 30-35°C with mixture I to obtain a homogenous mixture II (water phase);
5 c. contacting at least one chelating agent, and at least one polymer sequentially to mixture II to obtain a homogenous mixture III (water phase);
d. contact at least one emollient, and at least one emulsifier to obtain an oil phase having a temperature in the range of 80-85°C;
e. adjusting the temperature of mixture III to a temperature in the range of 80-

10 85°C and contact said mixture III to oil phase to obtain an emulsion maintained at a temperature in the range of 77-83°C;
f. contacting water at a temperature in the range of 80-85°C with sodium cetearyl sulfate to obtain a mixture IV; and
g. contacting mixture IV with said emulsion to obtain said composition.

15 8. A method of preparing a composition as claimed in claim 6, said method comprising:
a. contacting glycerin, and sodium carboxylmethyl cellulose to obtain a homogenous mixture I (water phase);
b. contacting water at a temperature in the range of 30-35°C with mixture I to

20 obtain a homogenous mixture II (water phase);

c. contacting disodium EDTA, and ammonium acryloyldmethyltaurate/VP copolymer sequentially to mixture II to obtain a homogenous mixture III (water phase);
d. contacting paraffin, mineral oil, and microcrystalline wax to obtain an oil

25 phase having a temperature in the range of 80-85°C;

e. adjust the temperature of mixture III to a temperature in the range of 80-

85°C and contact said mixture III to oil phase to obtain an emulsion maintained at a temperature in the range of 77-83°C;

f. contacting water at a temperature in the range of 80-85°C with sodium cetearyl sulfate to obtain a mixture IV; and
g. contacting mixture IV with said emulsion to obtain said composition.
