FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a novel Front Seat Mounting bracket for improved Side Impact performance by integration of features of seat mounting and special shape for improving the vehicle performance in side impact collision.
PRIOR ART
The B Pillar intrusion of vehicle directly affects the injury criteria in case of Side Impact accidents. In the known art, a cross member either below the main floor or above the main floor is provided thaty the intrusion of the B Pillar of the vehicle can be minimized.
OBJECTS OF INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a novel Front Seat Mounting bracket which does not require separate cross member for reducing the intrusion of the B-pillar / Floor Deformation in side impact collision.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a novel Front Seat Mounting bracket which can restrict the B Pillar Intrusion in case of Side Impact collision.
Further object of the present invention is to provide the Seat Mounting bracket as a bridge between the Side Sill structure and the main floor furthering the restriction of the B Pillar intrusion and enhancing the vehicle performance in side collisions.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide a cost effective and light weight vehicle which is best suited for automotive application for compliance to side collision requirements.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided a novel front seat mounting bracket comprising of a flange for welding / Fixing of seat mounting bracket with the side sill, which extends from top of the side sill in downward direction and a flange in the seat mounting bracket with floor for welding / Fixing.

The present invention disclose a novel Front Seat Mounting bracket as shown in fig. 1 comprising of flange (Area 2) for welding / Fixing of the seat mounting bracket with the side sill, which is designed in such a way that, it extends from top of the side sill and is extended in downward direction, which provides a stopper like effect in case of side impact. The flange (Area 1) with bead shape is provided in the seat mounting bracket for welding with floor, which is extended so as to cover the area prone to deform during side impact.
This restricts the B Pillar intrusion in the passenger compartment by arresting the deformation of the side sill area and the rear floor crumpling tendency.

The invention comprises an integrated part which serves the following three purposes:
1. Seat Mounting
2. Restriction of B Pillar intrusion by strengthening the floor by creating box section between the seat mounting bracket flange and the floor by using bead structure.
3. The Spot welding between the Side Sill and Seat Mounting bracket on the vertical wall provides good support for the side sill which restricts the twisting tendency of the side sill in case of a Side Impact collision.

Advantageous features of the invention over prior art
1. Improved performance of the vehicle in side crash due to enhanced restriction of the B Pillar movement into the passenger compartment.
2. Lighter and Cost Effective construction of the floor assembly as it eliminates the need for cross member.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-

WE CLAIM;
1. A novel front seat mounting bracket comprising of a flange for welding of seat mounting bracket with the side sill, which extends from top of the side sill in downward direction and a flange in the seat mounting bracket with floor for welding.
2. A novel front seat mounting bracket as claimed in claim 1, wherein the flange with bead shape is extended so as to cover the area prone to deform during side impact.
3. A novel front seat mounting bracket as claimed in claim 1 or 2,
wherein said flange for welding / fixing of seat mounting
bracket provides a stopper like effect in case of side impact.
4. A novel front seat mounting bracket as claimed in any of the
preceding claims comprising of B Pillar intrusion by
strengthening the floor by creating box section between the seat
mounting bracket flange and the floor with the help of bead
structure.
5. A novel front seat mounting bracket as claimed in any of the preceding claims wherein of Spot welding / fixing between the Side Sill and Seat Mounting bracket on the vertical wall provides good support for the side sill which restricts the twisting tendency of the side sill in case of a Side Impact collision.
