BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION WITH REGARD TO PRIOR ART
There are large numbers of plant.species which have potent action in crude from. However, there
are a great problem to prepare products from the plants. It is due to technical difficulties of
efficacy during long period of storage of plant materials for manufacturing of products and
maintaining the quality. Therefore, there are great need to invent methods of process for maintain
quality of raw materials for long term use.
The plant Vitex peduncularis Wallich ex Schaeur is a medium sized tree belonging to family
Verbenaceae. There is evidence that the stem bark, root bark and leaves (The British Medical
journal February 5, 1921; 186-188) of Vitex peduncularis is useful as anti malarial and for the
treatment of black water fever and as diuretic. The most popular name of the plant in Bihar,
Jharkhand, Bengal and adjoining state is 'Charaigorwa', 'Minjurgorwa', 'Simjanga' etc. The
fresh stem bark extract 4-6 teaspoonful every four hours found about as effective as leaf
infusions.

The document related to earlier studies carried out on the plant Vitex peduncularis have also
shown their efficacy as analgesic activity (Kumar, K. 2006. Final Technical Report, Ministry of
Environment & Forests, Govt, of India, New Delhi, Project F. No. 14/48/2001- RE page no. 67).
The studies of 125 years of malaria research shows significant result from the leaves of the plant
(www.mrcindia.org/conf/abstracts/8pdf, page no. 55).
The compound vitexin (Bheemshankar Rao, Ch. and Venkiteswarlu, 1956, Current Science 25:
328) is present in the plant.
A patent no 3130/DEL/2005 published on 02/10/2009 Journal No. 40/2009 entitled, "Bioactive
water fraction from Vitex peduncularis" wherein the bioactive water fraction obtained from the
leaves useful for the malaria.
The antioxidant activities of dried stem bark {Journal of Tropical Medicinal Plants 2004, 5(2):
217-219) while leaf and stem extract on different organic solvent observed anti bacterial
{International journal of pharmacy and pharmaceutical science, 2012 4(4): 177-180), Iridioides
with anti- inflammatory activity {Planta medica, 2002; 68: 72-73), ameliorative effect {Journal
of Herbal Medicine 2014; 4(3): 115-174). has been reported.
There are many unexplored phytocomponents might be present having responsible for such kind
of activity. However, there are not any products or lesser product in the market based on the
above plant material which claims for the antimalerial, antipyretic and analgesic. It is due to
