DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Referring to FIGS. 1-6, a carton 300 for packaging constructed in accordance with the present invention has an outer box 100. The outer box 100 has a top panel 102, a bottom panel 104, a front panel 106, a rear panel 108, and a right side panel 110 and a left side panel 112 that are folded to form the outer box 100. The outer box 100 has at least two locking fins 114, 116 that are extension of the side panels 110 and 112. Each locking fin 114, 116 of the outer box 100 of the carton 300 preferably has an opening 118, 120. The pair of locking fins 114, 116 are folded inwardly such that the fins 114, 116 become coplanar with corresponding side panels 110, 112.
The carton 300 has an inner box 200. The inner box 200 has a top panel 122, a bottom panel 124, a front panel 126, a rear panel 128, and a right side panel 130 and a left side panel 132 that are folded to form the inner box 200. A pair of locking fins 134, 136 are formed out of the top panel 122 of the inner box 200. The pair of locking fins 134, 136 are folded outwardly such that the fins 134, 136 become coplanar with corresponding side panels 130, 132.
The inner box 100 is slid into the outer box 200. When the inner box 100 is inserted all the side panels 110, 112 and 130, 132 and the locking fins 114, 116 and 134, 136 are coplanar and the sliding locking arrangement is achieved and carton is assembled. The outer box 100 and the inner box 200 of the carton 300 lock in a sliding arrangement. The pair of the

locking fins 114,116 and the openings 118, 120 are configured to advantageously automatically engage and lock the locking fins 134, 136 when the inner box 100 is tried to be slidingly removed from the outer box 200. The locking fins of the outer box 100 are folded inwardly such that the fins 114, 116 obstruct the insertion path of the inner box 200 when an effort is made to remove the inner box 200. The height of the side panels 120, 122 of the outer box 200 is approximately slightly greater than height of the of the side panels 110, 112 of the inner box 100 to facilitate insertion and locking the two boxes 100, 200.
Referring to FIG. 7-8, in yet another embodiment the locking fins 134, 136 inner box 200 are extensions of the front panel 126 and automatically get engaged with the corresponding locking fins 114, 116 of the outer box 100 during the process of insertion. The locking fins 134, 136 push the locking fins 114, 116 inwards when the inner box 100 is inserted and the need to pre-fold the locking fins 114, 116 is eliminated. The locking fins 134, 136 are configured such that the need to have openings 118, 120 is eliminated. The locking fins 134, 136 of the inner box 100 this particular embodiment lock with the corresponding locking fins 114, 116 of the outer box such that the inner box 200 can be removed from the outer box 100 only after leaving tamper evidence.
Referring to FIG. 9-11, in yet another embodiment the top panel 102 of the outer box 100 has an opening 142 for removing the inner box 200. The opening 142 is situated such that that the distance of the opening 142 from the boundaries of the top panel is at least four centimeters from every side to make the opening 142 in advantageously inaccessible to toddlers and, thus, making the embodiment child resistant.
Referring to FIG. 12 and 13, in yet another embodiment two outer boxes 100 are used. The inner box 200, in this particular embodiment has, locking fins that extend from both front and rear panels 126, 128 or both the ends of the top panel 102. In this particular embodiment,

the inner box 200 inserted into both the outer boxes 100 and the locking fins 134, 136 at both the ends engage with the corresponding locking fins 114, 116 of both the inner boxes 200.
Referring to FIGS. 14-18, the packaging carton in accordance with the present invention packaging carton has a first preconfigured blank 400 for an inner box 402. The first preconfigured blank 400 has a first set of lateral sub-panels 404, 406 that overlie each other to form a panel 408 that encloses a cavity 410 along with remaining panels. The lateral sub-panels 404, 406 are folded in to access the cavity 410 that houses an article. The first preconfigured blank 400 has a second set of lateral sub-panels 410, 412 that overlie each other to form a collapsible bottom panel 414 and the first preconfigured blank has a plurality of locking extensions 416, 418 that fold out from the edges of at least one panel when the inner box 402 is assembled.
The packaging carton has a second preconfigured blank 500 for an outer box 502. The second preconfigured blank 500 has a plurality of locking extensions 504, 506 that fold out from the edges of at least two opposite panels when the outer box 502 is assembled, wherein the locking extensions enclose a cavity that is adapted to receive the inner box 402 and the locking extensions are positioned inside the cavity. The second preconfigured blank has a set of lateral panel ends that overlie each other to form a collapsible rear panel 510, wherein the inner box is inserted into the outer box such that the cavity openings of the boxes are perpendicular to each other to form a carton and the locking extensions of the inner box over-ride the locking extensions of the outer box such that the locking extensions of the boxes are in position to engage each other when the inner box is pulled out.
In operation, the method for assembling at least two preconfigured blanks into an inner box and an outer box that form a carton, comprises providing a first preconfigured blank for an inner box, the first preconfigured blank having a first set of lateral panel ends that overlie each other to form a panel that encloses a cavity along with remaining panels, the first preconfigured blank having a second set of lateral panel ends that overlie each other to form a collapsible bottom panel, the first preconfigured blank having locking extensions

folded out from the edges of at least one panel when the inner box is assembled. The method includes providing a second preconfigured blank for an outer box, the second preconfigured blank having locking extensions folded from the edges of at least two opposite panels when the outer box is assembled, wherein the locking extensions enclose a cavity that is adapted to receive the inner box and the locking extension are positioned inside the cavity, the second preconfigured blank having a set of lateral panel ends that overlie each other to form a collapsible bottom panel. The method further includes inserting inner box into the outer box such that the cavity openings of the boxes are perpendicular to each other to form a carton; and advantageously allowing the locking extensions of the inner box to over-ride the locking extensions of the outer box such that the locking extensions of the boxes are in position to engage each other when the inner box is pulled out.
