A Pedal Assembly Of A Tractor For Adjusting Required Pedal Effort And A Method Thereof

Abstract: A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort comprises of, a main frame (101), said main frame (101) having a plurality of slots to accommodate other assemblies; a bracket assembly (102), said bracket assembly (102) is assembled to the main frame (101) by means of at least one joining process; a forcing assembly (103), said pedal assembly (103) is fastened to the main frame (101) by means of at least one joining process, wherein the pedal assembly (103) is in contact with the bracket assembly (102). Upon varying the bracket assembly (102), required pedal effort for clasping and releasing pedal is varied. Therefore, the required pedal effort is reduced significantly and thereby attrition of the tractor operator is reduced. Adjustment can be done easily by the tractor operator and thus reduces the downtime of the tractor. (Figure to be published along with abstract: Figure 1)

Specification

Claims:We claim,
1) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort comprises of,

a) a main frame (101), said main frame (101) having a plurality of slot to accommodate other assemblies;

b) a bracket assembly (102), said bracket assembly (102) is assembled to the main frame (101) by means of at least one joining process; and

c) a forcing assembly (103), said forcing assembly (103) is fastened to the main frame (101) by means of at least one joining process, wherein the forcing assembly (103) is in contact with the bracket assembly (102).

2) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort as claimed in claim 1, wherein the bracket assembly (102) comprises of,

a) a bracket (201), said bracket (201) comprises a plurality of recess;

b) a stopper plate assembly (202), said stopper plate assembly (202) is affixed to the bracket (201) by means of at least a bolt (203);

c) a shaft (204), said shaft (204) having a first end and a second, wherein the first end of the shaft (204) is coupled to the stopper plate assembly (202);

d) a spring (205), said spring (205) is mounted upon the shaft (204); and

e) an end plate (206), said end plate (206) is positioned at the second end of the shaft (204) and adjacent to the spring (205), wherein the end plate (206) arrests lateral movement of the spring (205);

3) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort as claimed in claim 1, wherein the forcing assembly (103) comprises of,

a) a foot rest (301);

b) a pedal shaft (302), said pedal shaft (302) having a first end and a second end, wherein the foot rest (301) is affixed on the first end of the pedal shaft (302);

c) a pedal cam (303), said pedal cam (303) having a cam profile, wherein the pedal cam (303) is appropriately fastened at the second end of the pedal shaft (302), said pedal cam (303) is in contact with the spring leg of the spring (205); and

d) a bush (304), said bush (304) is connected to the pedal cam (303), wherein the bush (304) is fastened with the main frame (101).

4) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2, wherein the stopper plate assembly (202) comprises of,

a) a stopper plate (401), said stopper plate (401) having a top end and the bottom end;

b) a guided slot (402), wherein the guided slot (402) is incorporated near the bottom end of the stopper plate (402) for adjusting purpose; and

c) a ratchet and pawl arrangement (403), wherein the ratchet and pawl arrangement (403) is provided on the top end of the stopper plate (401).

5) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2, wherein the spring is a torsion spring.

6) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2, wherein the spring is a double torsion spring.

7) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2, wherein the spring is a helical spring.

8) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2, wherein the spring is a coil spring.

9) A method for adjusting pedal effort required in a pedal assembly comprising of,

a) loosening at least the bolt (203);

b) changing the orientation of the stopper plate (401), upon changing the orientation of the stopper plate (401), the ratchet and pawl arrangement (403) holds the stopper plate (401) to that orientation, thus changing orientation of the stopper plate (401) alters the pre-load force on the spring (205), wherein the spring (205) is in contact with the pedal cam (303); and

c) fastening the stopper plate (401), said stopper plate (401) is fastened by means of at least the bolt (203), wherein the stopper plate (401) is fastened with the mounting bracket (201) through the guided slot (402) and thus pedal effort required for pedal assembly is adjusted.

10) A method for adjusting pedal effort required in a pedal assembly as claimed in claim 9, wherein adjusting the pedal effort required in a pedal assembly appropriately changes height of the foot rest (301) of the forcing assembly (103).

11) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein then pedal assembly is a clutch pedal assembly.

12) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein then pedal assembly is a brake pedal assembly.

13) A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein then pedal assembly is a accelerator pedal assembly.
, Description:A PEDAL ASSEMBLY OF A TRACTOR FOR ADJUSTING REQUIRED PEDAL EFFORT AND A METHOD THEREOF
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a tractor. In particular, the present invention relates to a pedal assembly for a tractor whose pedal effort is adjusted as required.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Generally, mechanical linkages of the pedal assembly are directly linked to the clasp or release of the pedal which is operated by foot. Effort required to clasp or release the pedal depends on clamping load, friction, type of linkages, etc. The effort required is preferred to remain constant for the entire life of vehicle . But due to the wear and tear of the linkages and increase in friction the required effort increase and creates discomfort to the user.
Patent application No. CN 20132363495 discloses a clutch pedal assisting structure having a double torsion spring as the assisting structure.
Patent application No. CN 20131513695 discloses a clutch pedal allowing comfortable pedalling having a support body (1) connected to rotate pedal body (2), provided in the support Body (1), and pedal body (2) with the connection to the pedal body (2) when depressing the pedal body (2) to provide reverse aid Force of the first spring body (3), the support body (1) is provided above the fixed plate cover (4), characterized in that: the pedal body (2) Provided with a second spring body (5), when the pedal body (2) is depressed, the second spring body (5) at its pedal cover (4) between Twist arm (51) is a foot member (2) when the toggle is rotated, the second spring body (5) of the second torsion arm (52) through a plate cover (4) After the rotation of the space below the cover abuts the pedal (4) below.
Patent application No. KR 20140168500 discloses a pedal assembly having a structure assists in clasp/release of pedal by means of a double torsion spring.
The above cited documents does not disclose about the means for adjusting preload tension of the double torsion spring for the purpose of limiting the clasp and release of the pedal, according to the wear and tear of the linkages.
Therefore there is need in art to provide a pedal assembly having reduced pedal effort, can adjust the height of the pedal according to the user, consumes less space and simplified mechanical linkages and can be used for the purpose of tractor which is having dual clutch clasp and release system. Furthermore, the pedal assembly is employed for the clutch and/or brake system.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to provide a pedal assembly having reduced pedal effort.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a pedal assembly which can be adjusted according to the user requirement.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a pedal assembly having simple mechanical linkage and consumes less space.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a pedal assembly in which preload tension of the spring is adjustable according to the user requirement.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a pedal assembly in which slackness is eliminated from the pedal.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
A pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort comprises of, a main frame (101), said main frame (101) having a plurality of slots to accommodate other assemblies; a bracket assembly (102), said bracket assembly (102) is assembled to the main frame (101) by means of at least one joining process; a forcing assembly (103), said pedal assembly (103) is fastened to the main frame (101) by means of at least one joining process, wherein the pedal assembly (103) is in contact with the bracket assembly (102). Upon varying the bracket assembly (102), required pedal effort for clasping and releasing pedal is varied.
A method for adjusting pedal effort required in a pedal assembly comprising of,
• loosening at least the bolt (203);
• changing the orientation of the stopper plate (401), upon changing the orientation of the stopper plate (401), the ratchet and pawl arrangement (403) holds the stopper plate (401) to that orientation, thus changing orientation of the stopper plate (401) alters the pre-load force on the spring (205), wherein the spring (205) is in contact with the pedal cam (303);
• fastening the stopper plate (401), said stopper plate (401) is fastened by means of at least the bolt (203), wherein the stopper plate (401) is fastened with the mounting bracket (201) through the guided slot (402) and thus pedal effort required for pedal assembly is adjusted.
Therefore, the required pedal effort is reduced significantly and thereby attrition of the tractor operator is reduced. Adjustment can be done easily by the tractor operator and thus reduces the downtime of the tractor.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DIAGRAMS
Figure 1 depicts a pedal assembly for a tractor.
Figure 2 describes an embodiment of a bracket assembly of the pedal assembly for a tractor.
While the invention is amenable to various modifications and alternative forms, specifics thereof have been shown by way of example in the drawings and will be described in detail. It should be understood, however, that the intention is not to limit the invention to the particular embodiments described. On the contrary, the intention is to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives falling within the spirit and scope of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention as embodied by a pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort and a method thereof, succinctly fulfils the above-mentioned need(s) in the art. The present invention has objective(s) arising as a result of the above-mentioned need(s), said objective(s) being enumerated below. In as much as the objective(s) of the present invention are enumerated, it will be obvious to a person skilled in the art that, the enumerated objective(s) are not exhaustive of the present invention in its entirety, and are enclosed solely for the purpose of illustration. Further, the present invention encloses within its scope and purview, any structural alternative(s) and/or any functional equivalent(s) even though, such structural alternative(s) and/or any functional equivalent(s) are not mentioned explicitly herein or elsewhere, in the present disclosure. The present invention therefore encompasses also, any improvisation(s)/modification(s) applied to the structural alternative(s)/functional alternative(s) within its scope and purview. The present invention may be embodied in other specific form(s) without departing from the spirit or essential attributes thereof.
Throughout this specification, the use of the word "comprise" and variations such as "comprises" and "comprising" may imply the inclusion of an element or elements not specifically recited.
In an embodiment, a pedal assembly of a tractor for adjusting required pedal effort comprises of, a main frame (101), said main frame (101) having a plurality of slots to accommodate other assemblies; a bracket assembly (102), said bracket assembly (102) is assembled to the main frame (101) by means of at least one joining process; a forcing assembly (103), said pedal assembly (103) is fastened to the main frame (101) by means of at least one joining process, wherein the pedal assembly (103) is in contact with the bracket assembly (102).
Said bracket assembly (102) comprises of, a mounting bracket (201), said mounting bracket (201) comprises a plurality of recess; a stopper plate assembly (202), said stopper plate assembly (202) is affixed to the mounting bracket (201) by means of at least a bolt (203); a shaft (204), said shaft (204) having a first end and a second, wherein the first end of the shaft (204) is coupled with the stopper plate assembly (202); a spring (205), said spring (205) is mounted upon the shaft (204); and an end plate (206), said end plate (206) is positioned at the second end of the shaft (204) and adjacent to the spring (205), wherein the end plate (206) arrests lateral movement of the spring (205);
Said forcing assembly (103) comprises of, a foot rest (301); a pedal shaft (302), said pedal shaft (302) having a first end and a second end, wherein the foot rest (301) is affixed at the first end of the pedal shaft (302); a pedal cam (303), said pedal cam (303) having a cam profile, wherein the pedal cam (303) is appropriately fastened at the second end of the pedal shaft (302), said pedal cam (303) is in contact with the spring leg of the spring (205); and a bush (304), said bush (304) is connected to the pedal cam (303), wherein the bush (304) is fastened with the main frame (101).
Said stopper plate assembly (202) comprises of, a stopper plate (401), said stopper plate (401) having a top end and the bottom end, wherein near the bottom end a guided slot (402) for adjusting purpose is incorporated, said the top end having a ratchet and pawl arrangement (403).
Said spring (205) can be a torsion spring, a double torsion spring or a coil spring.
By adjusting the position of stopper plate assembly (202) , the spring (205) is preloaded as the spring leg is pressed against the pedal cam (303). To facilitate operator in adjusting the stopper plate assembly (202), the ratchet and pawl arrangement (403) is given. It remain the position till the time operator tighten at least the bolt (203).
A method for adjusting pedal effort required in a pedal assembly comprising of,
• loosening at least the bolt (203);
• changing the orientation of the stopper plate (401), upon changing the orientation of the stopper plate (401), the ratchet and pawl arrangement (403) holds the stopper plate (401) to that orientation, thus changing orientation of the stopper plate (401) alters the pre-load force on the spring (205), wherein the spring (205) is in contact with the pedal cam (303);
• fastening the stopper plate (401), said stopper plate (401) is fastened by means of at least the bolt (203), wherein the stopper plate (401) is fastened with the mounting bracket (201) through the guided slot (402) and thus pedal effort required for pedal assembly is adjusted.
Furthermore, adjusting the pedal effort required in the pedal assembly may appropriately change height of the foot rest (301) of the forcing assembly (103) as suitable to the operator.
Therefore, the required pedal effort is reduced significantly and thereby attrition of the tractor operator is reduced. Adjustment can be done easily by the tractor operator and thus reduces the downtime of the tractor.
Said pedal assembly can be used for purpose of a clutch, a brake and a acceleration.
It will be apparent to a person skilled in the art that the above description is for illustrative purposes only and should not be considered as limiting. Various modifications, additions, alterations, and improvements without deviating from the spirit and the scope of the invention may be made by a person skilled in the art.
