, Description:Technical field of the Invention
The present invention generally relates to the systems and methods used to manage the data related to the health related standards. More particularly, the present invention is related to the use of artificial intelligence in management of body weight of individuals who are overweight.
Background of the invention
There are some barriers in accessing the relative health of a person in a rapid, cost-effective, and timely manner. Obesity is a well-recognized serious health problem now a days leading to shortening lives and increasing medical expenses for many people. Many diseases, such as type II diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, heart diseases and others have been directly linked to obesity. Unfortunately the threat of a reduced lifespan, reduced quality of life and an enhanced probability of suffering from comorbid disease in the future is not sufficient for those who are significantly overweight to be successful in reducing their weight and in maintaining such a reduced weight and a healthy lifestyle incorporating a consistent exercise program.
There are many causes of obesity and can be complex. Genetic predisposition impacting metabolism and environmental factors such as diminished physical activity often plays a key role. Additional psychological factors such as stress, depression, medical conditions such as hypothyroidism, chronic pain and other conditions restricting physical activity or affect metabolism also contribute in causing obesity.
There are many ways for treatment of obesity. Basic level involves the manipulation of energy intake and energy expenditure. For losing weight, one has to take few calories than one expends. Diets having the limited intake of calories coupled with exercise are used to increase energy expenditure and thus create negative energy balance. Care should be taken while restricting calories in order to satisfy nutritional needs of the body. Healthy weight loss occurs when nutritional requirements of the body are fulfilled during the process of limiting calorie intake.
The determination of appropriate nutritional intake, calorie restriction and exercise should be considered while treating obesity. Safety is the most important when determining exercise regimen and in determining nutritional requirements making up a dietary protocol. For example, an appropriate dietary protocol and exercise regimen for weight loss for 60 year old obese male individual with hypertension, coronary artery disease and history of heart attack would be different than the appropriate protocol for a 38 year old moderately obese female having type II diabetes treated with oral medications. It is recommended that protocols for weight loss including nutritional guidelines, exercise should be constructed by healthcare professionals including physicians, nutritionists and others.
Many commercial programs exists which provide nutritional and exercise direction along with help to keep on track. There are many individual health care professionals who provide specific weight management services such as nutritionists, trainers, exercise physiologists, counsellor, psychologist, nurses and physicians. Comprehensive programs are available at multidisciplinary weight management centres where medical management, nutrition, exercises, psychological intervention are provided in global approach. Surgical approaches are also available offering altering caloric intake and absorption.
There are many weight loss products available including herbal products, pre-packaged low and zero calorie foods, beverages for altering calorie intake. Exercise machines, devices, videos are also available to increase energy expenditure.
There are several limitations to manage obesity in a clinic based setting. From a patient’s perspective, clinic visits are time consuming and costly and these problems are exacerbated by inadequate patient-doctor interaction time. Educating patients concerning the risk of obesity and their active participation remains the cornerstone of weight loss programs which require repetitive efforts by the clinicians. A patient’s social network, social support and social influence are lacking in the clinical management of obesity.
There is enormous number of health care applications but most of the applications are underused, with limited approach for user engagement, having limited benefits derived from the application. So there is need for a process for monitoring weight using artificial intelligence in which AI machines can monitor weight, diet and physical activities.
Objects of the Invention:
An object of the present invention is to provide a system for personalized monitoring and healthcare management system using artificial intelligence.
Another object of the present invention is to set personal goal setting for weight loss for overweight individuals and to give focused attention on patient’s concerns and minimizes knowledge gap between doctors and patients.

Detailed Description of the Invention
A personalized monitoring and healthcare management system using artificial intelligence is disclosed. The main key features of this application are use of information from electronic health records and delivers personal goal setting, monitoring of weight changes and physical activity combined feedback, increased knowledge by using personalized educational materials, personal goal setting for weight loss, self-monitoring of weight and physical activity, online social support for interaction with clinicians. An interactive message board for patients is provided wherein the patients and doctors (personalized trainers) can interact with each other. It reduces time for obtaining basic information of patients and trainers become more focused on patient’s concerns.
The present embodiment is a process for monitoring and maintaining body weight of overweight individuals using artificial intelligence. In present invention, AI can monitor body weight. The software application with AI is used by the personal trainers where the BMI and other health related standards are set. Personal trainers use this application for setting goals for every client, AI reminds the clients from time to time to reach the goal so that their body weight can be managed. The workout store makes it simple for new clients to discover and purchase smart workouts you build and very easy to distribute routines to people especially overweight people.
The present invention works in the following way:
In one aspect, the process involves ready, convenient and accurate collection of monitoring of medical health status information from individuals so that the information can be used by overweight patients. It includes diet plan for maintaining body weight, workouts and foods to be taken for reducing body weight. The overweight individual collects all information from the application and uses it for their reduction of body weight. The application has also personalized trainers who trains individuals for maintaining body mass index and other health standards such (appropriate body weight: height).According to their needs, health goals are set for every client. Some alerts are generated for reminding them for their exercise time and food intake time. They also allow users to highlight workflow inefficiencies and helps patients by avoiding unnecessary hospitalization. As all the data of individuals is processed fast by using this application. It reduces a lot of time of the patients.
The web based interface provides obesity related information based on electronic health records (EHR) to provide patients with a content and assessment tools. From EHR, measurements of the body such as weight, height, age, abdominal circumference, blood pressure, laboratory measurements including blood, glucose, uric acid, triglyceride levels, and cholesterol levels can be obtained. All the family physician information such as coronary artery disease, strokes hypertension, diabetes, arthritis is obtained from the initial assessment. Individuals can consult with dieticians and are prescribed a weekly sample menu of low calorie diet consisting of 1200/1800 kcal/day based on age, sex, and activity level and target weight. Physical activity is done accordingly.
In another aspect, the various educational short videos features educational materials like diseases related to obesity, possible suggestions for weight loss. Individuals can monitor their diseases through application. General nutritional information regarding macronutrients, a low salt diet, low calorie tips for dining out are also provided. Dietary guidelines related to particular diseases caused by obesity are also included. Sample menus for 1 week with the calorie targets are also prescribed by dietician. If individuals have not chosen a set goal (target), a default target is get set as 10% reduction of their current weight as the final goal and 2 kg reduction as the monthly goal. The difference between their target weight and current weight is automatically calculated along with daily and weekly target activity calories (which they can select within 10% range). Physical activities were also monitored by the application. Automatic feedback messages were sent to individuals based on their monthly target weight loss goal which include recommended calorie consumption per day, target calories burned by activities and previous physical activity records. If no changes in weight are reported for more than 2 days, an automated reminder message is sent to patients.
The message board is for one- to-one chatting and each patient’s doctor/personal trainer. The message board is for promoting effective and efficient communication between patients and their personal trainers. On that screen of the personal trainers, the message board looks like a list of emails from participants, where only one to one communication is possible so that their medical information remain secure.
