Specification

This invention relates to a pillion footrest assembly for motor vehicles, more particularly, two wheeler motor vehicles and other motor vehicles provided with a pillion and footrests for the pillion rider.
It is an object of this invention to propose a pillion footrest assembly for a motor vehicle which isolates the vibration while carrying the load transmitted to the footrest by the feet of the pillion rider while seated on the vehicle.
Another object of this invention is to propose a pillion footrest as aforesaid which is durable in use and reliable in operation.

The pillion footrest assembly , according to this invention, comprises a hand holder fixed to the vehicle near the pillion; a flexible and resilient member located in a cutout provided in a rubber pillion footrest; a fastening member for fastening the said flexible and resilient member, and the footrest together.
This invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings which illustrate, by way of example, and not by way of limitation, one of its possible embodiments
Fig. 1 illustrating the embodiment in elevation
And Fig. 2 illustrating the said embodiment in section.

The pillion footrest assembly has a hand holder H fixed to the vehicle near the pillion.
A flexible and resilient member M exemplified by soft rubber is located in a cutout C provided in the rubber pillion footrest F.
A fastening member, such as, a plate P is fastened to the member M and the footrest F by a bolt.
As a result of the foregoing construction, the vibration of the footrest F Is considerably reduced. The said construction also renders the assembly durable and reliable in use.
It will be appreciated that various other embodiments of this invention are possible

without departing from the scope and ambit of this invention.
We Claim:
1. A pillion footrest assembly comprising a hand holder fixed to the vehicle near the pillion; a flexible and resilient member located in a cutout provided in a rubber pillion footrest; a fastening member for fastening the said flexible and resilient member and the footrest plate together.
2. A pillion footrest assembly as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the flexible and resilient member is made of soft rubber.
5

3.A pillion footrest assembly as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 wherein the fastening member is a plate for fastening the said flexible and resilient member and the footrest together by a bolt.
4.A pillion footrest assembly for a motorcycle substantially a herein described with reference to, and as illustrated in, the accompanying drawings.
