Abstract: A pipe of tube holding fixture consist of a adaptor fixing an arrangement which need to fix to a tube or pipe. A hollow tubular holder with tapered end for holding the adaptor. A collet with tapered ends. The collet tapered ends matches with the tie rod flared end the holder tapered end. The collet is inserted to the tie rod and then assembled with the holder and adaptor. During assembly the tie rod is tightened against the adaptor so that collet is compressed in between the holder end and tie rod f l ared end. The collet is made with slit in longitudinal direction which causes it to expand in the radial direction while compression. This radial expansion of collet will hold against a tube located adjacent to the collet. Figure- 1

PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification describes the invention
FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to fitment for pipe/tube holding and more particularly relates to a fitment for instrumented steering wheel for steering effort measurement in static and dynamic conditions for steering sub assembly evaluations.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Holding the tube/pipe to its outer surface is much easy as compared to its inner surface. However, there are some applications where holding the tube from its inner surface is essential. Steering angle and torque measurement on vehicle is one of the application where the inner surface of steering tube holding is essential. Steering angle and steering effort measurement is important for steering sub assembly evaluation and also to check the vehicle steering response in various vehicle dynamic conditions. During the new product development process, it was suggested to measure the steering effort on benchmark vehicles. Fixing a instrumented steering on existing steering column is difficult because it need an assembly to hold the arrangement from inside the tube. This challenge forced to innovate the new adaptation.
OBJECTS OF INVENTION
1. The main object of this invention is to provide a holding arrangement for pipe/tubes
2. This can extended for holding steering tube at its inner diameter for instrumented steering wheel fitment.
3. Another object of this invention is to provide a simple fitment arrangement.
4. Yet another object of this invention is to save the instrumentation time.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
A pipe of tube holding fixture consist of a adaptor fixing an arrangement which need to fix to a tube or pipe. A hollow tubular holder with tapered end for holding the adaptor. A collet with tapered ends. The collet tapered ends matches with the tie rod flared end the holder tapered end. The collet is inserted to the tie rod and then assembled with the holder and adaptor. During assembly the tie rod is tightened against the adaptor so that collet is compressed in between the holder end and tie rod flared end. The collet is made with slit in longitudinal direction which causes it to expand in the radial direction while compression. This radial expansion of collet will hold against a tube located adjacent to the collet.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
Referring to figure 1 & 2 the pipe or tube holding fixture consists of following
elements-
a) Adaptor (1): This part to be fitted on a Holder (2) with the grub screw (5). The measuring instrumented steering wheel or any article which need to be fitted to a tube (5) is to be fitted on its top by nut and bolt arrangement.
b) Holder (2): this is a hollow tube with tapered end (2'). The hollow portion will allow a tie rod (4) to pass through it and taper end (2') guide a collet (3) and matches with end tapering (3') in the collet. This holds the Collate (3) and Tie rod (4) assembly at one end (2') and Adaptor (1) at other end. This will help collet (2) to expand or contract depending on the tightening or loosening of the nut at Adaptor end (1).
c) Tie Rod (4): This is provided with flared end (4') which guides the Collet (3), and other end is provided with standard threading (4"). The Tie rod is to be passed through Holder (2) and then Adaptor at the top (1).
d) Collet (3): This is provided with a slits and also an internal taper at both the ends (3',3"). Both the ends having slits to starting from the edges and running upto the middle portion. These slits will make the collet (3) flexible in radial direction for expansion, Further both the ends (3',3") provided with taper to slide over the connecting elements that is the holder at one end (3') and tie rod end at the other end (3"). Tapered end of the collet matches with connecting elements end portion. The flaring on Tie Rod (4') and tapering on Holder (2') is same as the tapering on the collet for easy movement. The collet is made up of soften material like spring steel to expand and contract easily. The collet is inserted into the pipe which then holds the pipe internally after expanding.
Assembly details: Adaptor (1 ) is to be fitted with grub screw (6) to holder (2). Then the tie rod (4) with a collet (3) is to be inserted into the holder-adaptor assembly and tighten the tie rod (4) to the adaptor (1) using suitable fastening means. This caused to form a complete assembly.
For fixing an arrangement to a pipe or tube following steps are performed; 1 Keep the above assembly in tube and tighten the nut on the tie rod threading.
2. This caused the tie rod(4) to get pulled against the adaptor.
3. Flaring on tie rod (4') and tapering on holder (2') are guide the collet (3) to move on it. Collet is also provided with the internal taper for easy movement of it on the tie rod and holder taper. As tie rod moves against the adaptor, it pushes the collect against the adaptor. This causes the collect to moves on the holder tapered end portion and start compress against the tie rod end portion and adaptor end portion.
4. The movement of the COLLET (1) caused it's expansion (2 to 2.5 mm) in the radial direction and hence, get pressed against the inner surface of tube to hold.
5. Thus the adaptor assembly is act as medium for fixing any arrangement on it so that any arrangement can be fixed in a tube or pipe using the assembly.
