FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates generally to planetary gear systems and more particularly embodiments of the invention relates to a roller mechanism for a planetary gear system.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A planetary gear generally refers to a cluster of gears, in which there are one or more outer gears in one plane and grouped around each other. Planetary gears are also referred to as epicyclic gears. The cluster of gears is mounted on a movable carrier which rotates relative to the central or sun gear. The gear system also incorporates the use of an outer ring gear which meshes with the planet gears. Normally, a plurality of retaining portions is provided on the circumference of the carrier for receiving the planetary gears. These planetary gears are normally rotatably mounted on the planetary shaft.
A plurality of ball bearings is normally mounted on the inner circumference of the planetary gear or direct Mounting of Planetary Gear on the Shaft to enable rotation of the planetary gears with respect to the planetary shaft. Further, the ball bearings or direct Mounting of Planetary Gear on the Shaft reduce the friction between the moving parts. However, the ball bearings or direct Mounting of Planetary Gear on the Shaft establish a limited surface area of contact with the planetary shaft. Hence, there is a need for a system that reduces the friction caused by the movement of the planetary gears around the planetary shaft.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
One of the basic objects of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages/drawbacks of the known art.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system that reduces the friction caused by the movement of the planetary gears around the planetary shaft.
These and other advantages of the present invention will become readily apparent from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

Plurality of shaft means mounted on said gear means substantially at its center to assist in the rotation of said gear means; and
Plurality of pin means placed on the carrier /Planetary case means adapted for locking said shaft means of said gear means.
According to another aspect of the present invention there is provided an improved roller mechanism for a planetary gear system, said mechanism comprising :
Atleast one planetary gear;
Plurality of needle rollers substantially placed on the inner circumference of said gear to define a substantial circular profile;
Wherein said plurality of needle rollers having plurality of rows .
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a planetary gear arrangement and a roller mechanism thereof for a planetary gear system.
According to the first embodiment of the present invention there is provided an improved roller arrangement for a planetary gear system. The arrangement comprises atleast one carrier/Planetary case means having a defined circumference , plurality of planetary gears mounted on the circumference of carrier/Planetary case means , plurality of shaft means mounted on the gear means substantially at its center to assist in the rotation of the gear means and plurality of pin means placed on the carrier/Planetary case means adapted for locking the shaft means of the gear means .
The shaft means is equal to the number of gear means.. The pin means adapted prevent the linear and angular displacement of the shaft means during movement of the carrier means.
According to the second embodiment of the present invention there is provided an improved roller mechanism for a planetary gear system. The mechanism comprises atleast one planetary gear, plurality of needle rollers substantially placed on the inner circumference of the gear to define a substantial circular profile . The plurality of needle rollers having plurality of row.
The plurality of needle rollers is placed inside the planetary gear to improve the surface contact, thereby reducing the wear and tear of the planetary gear internal surface. The plurality of rows are two in number. Each row is placed substantially on the inner circumference of the gear to define a substantial circular profile.
The plurality of rows of the needle roller comprises a spacer placed in-between the rows to keep the rollers intact, reduce the friction, reduce the stoppage of roratation & to reduce the noise generation during movement of the planetary gear.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Other features as well as the advantages of the invention will be clear from the following
description.
In the appended drawing:
FIG. 1 shows a planetary gear arrangement along according to an embodiment of the invention.
F1G.2 shows a planetary gear arrangement with a roller mechanism according to an embodiment of the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
In the following detailed description, reference is made to the accompanying drawings that form a part hereof, and illustrate the best mode presently contemplated for carrying out the invention. Further functioning of the arrangement has been discussed below to describe the way it operates. However, such description should not be considered as any limitation of scope of the present system. The structure thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all the details may furthermore be replaced with elements having technical equivalence. In practice the materials and dimensions may be any according to the requirements, which will still be comprised within its true spirit.
Various embodiments of the invention provide a washer assembly for a planetary gear arrangement. FIG.l shows a planetary gear arrangement 100 according to an embodiment of the invention. The planetary gear arrangement 100 comprises of a plurality of planetary gears 103 mounted on the circumference of a carrier 101. Each of the planetary gear 103 is located in the circumference of the carrier 101. Further, each of the planetary gear 103 is rotatably mounted on a planetary shaft 105. The planetary shaft 105 of each of the planetary gear 103 is locked in its position by a locking pin 107. The locking pin 107 prevents the linear and angular displacement of the planetary shaft 105 during movement of the carrier 101 & during the rotation of gear 103
FIG.2 shows a planetary gear arrangement with a roller mechanism 200, according to an embodiment of the invention. A plurality of needle rollers 203 is placed on the inner circumference of the planetary gear 201. In one embodiment of the invention, at least two distinct rows of Roller bearings are placed inside the planetary gear 201. Such an arrangement of a multiplicity of rows containing plurality of needle rollers 203 improves the surface contact, thereby reducing the wear and tear of the planetary gear internal surface. Additionally a spacer 202 (Between the 2 Rows of the needles) can be added between multiplicity of rows of needle rollers 203 to keep the rollers intact during movement of the planetary gear 201.
Further embodiments and examples of performing the invention shall be described in detail in the complete specification.
ADVANTAGES:
The following are the changes incorporated to improve the performance & durability of the planetary System of the Two Speed axle.
1. Needle rollers are added inside the planetary gear of the Two Speed Axle for smooth rotation & reduce the friction for improving the performance.
2. Multiplicity of rows comprising plurality of needle rollers is placed inside the planetary gear to improve the surface contact, thereby reducing the wear and tear of the planetary gear internal surface.
3. A locking pin is used for retaining the position of the Planetary Shaft during the usage.
4. Locking will help avoiding the linear & angular displacement of the Planetary shaft during the rotation of the planetary gear.
5. Locking will also avoid the rotation of the planetary shaft during the rotation of the planetary gear.
