A Process For Conversion Of High Ash Indian Coal To Ammonia

Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a process to convert high ash Indian coal to ammonia by employing bubbling fluidized bed gasification method in which coal is gasified with blend of oxygen, carbon dioxide and steam to generate syngas which is cleaned from particulates, ammonia, carbonyl sulfide and hydrogen sulfide before admitted to catalytic water gas shift reactors where carbon monoxide gets converted to carbon dioxide by reacting with steam to increase the concentration of hydrogen in it. The carbon dioxide is separated using amine based absorption method and recycled back to gasifier to get used as one of the fluidizing medium
