A Process For Making A Water Soluble Crystalline Ayurvedic Composition From Cansoban For The Treatment Of Cancer And Allied Common Bacterial Infection

Abstract: A process for the preparation of a water-soluble crystalline ayurvedic composition from cansoban for the treatment of cancer and allied common bacterial infection, comprises of dried herbal medicinal material subjected to a range of heat employs closed vats and under vacuum for a particular pre set time, the contents are gradually cooled with a preset time slot, the contents are removed aseptically subject to purification to remove the unwanted and non-water soluble matter both with mechanical and chemical methods, the chemical used are such which make complexes with the unwanted matter and separated out with centrifugation and precipitation; at temperature of 12°C, this composition which is still in the liquid aqueous phase, filtered and allowed to 'age' over 24 hours, after this period is over the supernatant liquid is evaporated at a temperature range of 12 to 15 degrees C and the composition finally crystallized.

(Section 10)
" A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF A WATER-SOLUBLE CRYSTALLINE AYURVEDIC COMPOSITION FROM CANSOBAN FOR THE TREATMENT OF CANCER AND ALLIED COMMON BACTERIAL INFECTION".

Incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956

The following specification particularly describes the nature ot the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed:-

Present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a water-soluble crystalline ayurvedic composition from cansoban for the treatment of cancer and allied common bacterial infection.
Several attempts have been made in the past to develop anti-cancer drug molecule, and the efforts are still continued, but all are based on the modern chemical knowledge and with a final objective of getting a chemically pure composition. On the other hand the present ayurvedic method is a modification of the olden ayurvedic methods described for the treatment of 'Arbudas' (un-physiological growths of tissue). The present method is based on Ayurvedic principles and develops a molecule which retains the ayurvedic properties.
There are available several drugs which try to kill the cancer cells in many ways. But this does not rule out the host toxicity; and due to this, the cells show resistance and the drugs become ineffective after sometime. This gives rise to combination of these compositions with a sole purpose of making them more effective.
The present day anti-cancer drug treatment is unsatisfactory. It can give rise to host toxicity and many serious untowards reactions. High doses are not tolerated by all patients. On this backdrop ayurvedic anti-cancer drug treatment with a single composition will be a most welcome affair by everyone.
The present process gives rise to a crystalline, water soluble composition which shows activity against human cancer and can be easily converted into an injection, a tablet, a capsule or a syrup. Our observation shows that this drug shows a good promise.

Object of the present invention are :-
1. to develop an anti-cancer composition from the ayurvedic herbs Cansoban.
2. to develop it on the principles of ayurvedic "Aushadhi Nirman" taking clues from ayurvedic Samhitas or other texts.
According to our invention, therefore, a process for the preparation of a water-soluble crystalline ayurvedic composition from cansoban for the treatment of cancer and allied common bacterial infection, comprises of dried herbal medicinal material subjected to a range of heat employs closed vats and under vacuum for a particular pre set time, the contents are gradually cooled with a preset time slot, the contents are removed aseptically subject to purification to remove the unwanted and non-water soluble matter both with mechanical and chemical methods, the chemical used are such which make complexes with the unwanted matter and separated out with centrifugation and precipitation, at temperature of 12°C, this composition which is still in the liquid aqueous phase, filtered and allowed to 'age' over 24 hours, after this period is over the supernatant liquid is evaporated at a temperature range of 12 to 15 degrees C and the composition finally crystallized.

Examples:
100 kg material of Texus baccta ( Cansoban) is procured and subjected to our standard procedure of acceptance criteria. After acceptance, the material was quickly washed to remove the surface dust and any other contaminants. The weight was 98.95 kg. It was shade dried in a dust free atmosphere till three constant weights of a random sample of approximate 100 gms. It is crudely pulverized and incinerated in a stainless steel furnace to obtain white ash. The yield is 12.540 kg. The ash is mixed (16 times the weight of material) with 200.64 litrs. of distilled water and stirred vigorously for 1 hour. It is stirred 8 times in a day (every 3 hours) for 7 days.
The mixture is allowed to stand without any disturbance for 48 hours. The clear supernatant liquid is poured into another stainless steel vessel. The yield is 192.300 litres. This is distributed into 2 stainless steel vessels. All the vessels had a steam jacket for heating. The liquid is heated with slow constant stirring till the crystals are obtained. The yield is 680 gms. The crystals are collected by scraping with a stainless steel spatula and stored in clean glass jars with wide mouth and sealed and stored in cool dry place.
The other variations of the process are given below :
in the absence of electrical energy the solar power shall be used for the further processing of crystallization;
solar energy shall also be used for aging admixing and precipitation to separate the composition in aqueous phase; this will reduce the air and soil pollution. Minimum chemicals shall be used to avoid contamination of ground water and flora and fauna around, thus preserving the local ecology.

WE CLAIM:

1. a process for the preparation of a water-soluble crystalline ayurvedic composition from cansoban for the treatment of cancer and allied common bacterial infection, comprises of dried herbal medicinal material subjected to a range of heat employs closed vats and under vacuum for a particular pre set time, the contents are gradually cooled with a preset time slot, the contents are removed aseptically subject to purification to remove the unwanted and non-water soluble matter both with mechanical and chemical methods, the chemical used are such which make complexes with the unwanted matter and separated out with centrifugation and precipitation; at temperature of 12°C, this composition which is still in the liquid aqueous phase, filtered and allowed to 'age' over 24 hours, after this period is over the supernatant liquid is evaporated at a temperature range of 12 to 15 degrees C and the composition finally crystallized. *
2. A process for making a water-soluble crystalline ayurvedic composition from cansoban for the treatment of cancer and allied common bacterial infection as claimed in claim 1 and substantially as herein described with reference to an example.
